[News] Who's Playing, Who's Not vs. Eagles

I am becoming more and more concerned about injuries with this team. Our deep threat Perriman has a genetic knee condition which get worse as he runs fast (WTH), Campanero our best slot receiver and returner has had trouble staying healthy, KO has an Achilles, and Wagner a foot . I'm not going to mention Webb becaue in my opinion, there are better corner on the rosteer than Webb and he is almost always missing games. Ravens needs to add a burner and a vet oline guy just in just these guys can't make it through the season. Would not be surprised if Perriman is PUP and KO is IR'd. JO retired a little early due to a 'toe' so Achilles, foot, and knees can't be good.

I still consider ourselves lucky, where we have players with dings that are not season ending injuries, where as other teams have lost key starters for the season, and teams have lost #1 picks due to injuries for the year....KO is a vet, so let him just heal and rehab until week 1, Wagner give him a week off....Perriman shold be back soon, and Webb just needs to get back on the field ASAP....

I see Perriman getting closer and closer to the PUP. If he cant practice there is no reason to consider him on the roster. The Ravens can field a very good WR corps without him. I expect them to make a decision about that soon and get ready for the start of the season without him. Waller, Aiken, Campenaro, Sr., Brown, Butler and Carter can handle it until game 7. Get the kid 100% ready. rushing it would be a mistake. Lets use him as a weapon in the playoffs when its needed.

@law215 Osgood Schlatter's is not something that continues into adulthood. He had it as a kid. It ranges between the ages of 10-15. I had it when i was 14 and it went away by the time i was 14 1/2. Perriman has a mild PCL sprain and it has nothing to do with the Osgood Schlatter's disease he had when he was a young teen. He will be fine and will return when he 's ready. We all just have to be patient. Everthing will work out!!

PUP...  If he enters the season on the PUP, he cannot play the first 6 games.  It's not that bad.  It's been determined to not be that bad.  I would rather have him miss the couple of weeks prior and go into the season healthy than to rush this and then HAVE to go on the PUP....  patience is key here.

Yes, understood. First off, he is not getting any practice time. his replacement Waller is doing absolutely incredible and so are the other receivers. To allow the others to participate and get ready only to give up a spot on the roster is a BIG mistake! its either he practices or not. 2 preseason games is a lot to miss for a rookie. I just don't see the rush. Patience is correct

This has been explained probably 100+ times already, but Perriman CANNOT go to the PUP list.  It's either he's on the active roster for the first game of the season or they put him on IR.  If it was deemed that his injury could take another 2+ months, they could give him the IR - designated to return status which I think would put him back week 9.

Those are the only options, and even if Perriman needed to miss the first game or two, I doubt they would exercise any of the other options.

I sure hope Perriman can practice and play next week. Third preseason game is always a dress rehearsal.

If not then we have to hope for the best, ODB missed a lot of preseason and first few games last year and he still had an extremely rate phenomenal year regardless.

Prime example was Odell Beckham Jr. last year....  and look at him.  It can be done.

People seriously need to chill with Perriman's injury. Some medical facts:

The pain symptoms associated with Osgood-Schlatter's resolve on their own once the adolescent stops growing and reaches skeletal maturity. Given Perriman's age (nearly 22) and impressive stature (6'3", 210 lbs), I think it's safe to say he doesn't have another growth spurt left in tank.

It is important to understand that this is NOT a lifelong issue and Perriman's current injury and extended absence from practice is completely unrelated. The ONLY lingering side effect into adulthood is the presence of a more prominent tibial tuberosity.

With appropriate management, most patients with a minor to moderate PCL tear (grades 1 and 2) can return to sport or normal activity within 2 – 8 weeks.

The severity of Perriman's sprain will dictate how long he can be expected to be sidelined. Grade I and II PCL sprains are treated non-surgically and can take several weeks to recover from. Grade III PCL tears typically require surgical intervention. Given the handling of Perriman's injury thus far, I imagine he suffered a Grade I sprain. If this is true, I would anticipate seeing him back in action within the next two weeks.

Perriman will have missed the 2nd of 4 pre-season games...It's not like he is isn't rehabbing everyday, and i'm sure he is taking this time to study the playbook, and watching film....Just be happy we didn't use the 7th over-all pick on White, and he is out for the season....

I can foresee Webb having another terrible year.

While you are having these great Nostradamus like visions can you please give me comfort about our SB chances?

Nothing to freak out about yet. Excited to see Marlon play. Glad we'll get to see Myers most likely. No worries about the starters, preseason is more for the backups anyway. Ready to see more of Buck and the WR competition. Hope Perry gets more time, him vs. Trawick is shaping up to be a little battle of its own. Renner as well may get more time, hopefully Schaub doesn't keep throwing picks though.

Agreed TX...what my point is about. The Ravens can cover Perriman for the first 6 weeks. There is no reason to use a roster spot when he would get limited playing time anyway. A PUP would allow another roster spot available to look at the remaining 6 WR. We dont know enough about any of them yet to decide greatness. I say take the time with this injury. 2-8 weeks is very possible. so far its been 2 weeks. The Ravens need to focus on ALL the weapons and not use up a spot for a rookie that will play as a 3rd reciever at most now that he is loosing practice time.

I think Johnson and Brown will see a lot of work on the OL this week. But neither is expected to make the team unless an injury were to dictate. KO will likely sit out. Wagner , Myers and Urschel will see limited time. Jah Reid needs to show us a lot today!! He is very fortunate to have a job...its time to play like a Raven!

But it say's right there in the article "Rookie receiver Breshad Perrimanicon-article-link.gif is a long shot to play as he continues to recover from a knee injury he suffered on the first day of training camp. A  long shot just doesn't sound very healthy to me......That's all.....
