Sometimes self realization takes a while but when it finally does, the shark has jumped for sure! Thanks for stopping the help you provided in perpetuating the "Is Flacco elite debate" The nuclear sub has finally come home.

24 TDs, 4 ints in the playoffs since 2010. What more needs to be said? He has been undeniably the best playoff QB over that span. I'd rather have no one else in January.

I'm glad this is the last on the subject, just sad it's one too many. Joe is better now than ever and improving each year. I expect that by the end of his career, those wanting to keep the question alive will have a clear answer. I believe it has been such an ongoing question for many because Joe has walked directly on the fence separating good VS elite. Sometime to the left and other times to the right, while never veering far from the fence itself. It's neither a complement nor a knock. Borderline good VS elite is what good teams have at a variety of positions. We could currently include Suggs, Dumervil, Jimmy Smith and SSS and a few others in the good VS Elite argument. I didn't mention Tucker because I believe he's far enough away from the fence (border) dividing good from elite, he is without question, elite; at least for now.

Joe walks the walk, he never has been one to talk the talk....Put his playoff record up against any of the Elites....He shines in the Money games....Nuff said.........

Put Joe up against any elite quarterback and he will win almost every time. If he loses it's a dropped pass, a bad kick, or poorly thrown ball after an overall great game that should have been won. As I have said before I don't want any other quarterback.

Since there is no universally accepted definition of an "elite quarterback", arguing about whether a QB is elite makes no sense at all. It's exactly as meaningful as having an argument about whether a girl look good or not. Therefore, so just those millions of "elite-debate fans" can have their daily fix, I propose a definition for an elite QB:

A quarterback is to be considered "elite" if at least 80 per cent of the other 31 NFL organizations would jump with joy having that guy as their QB instead of the one they have.

Simple as that ;)

Just read the Athlon Fantasy preview paper and Joe is not even in the top 16 qb's.........That was pretty unreal but its just how everyone else views Joe. He needs to put it to bed this year and go undefeated(My dream)or show he can beat the teams we are suppose to beat at least for home field advantage.....I know in the playoffs he's lethal.....but just think if he had home field for all the playoffs.....Don't lose to scrubby teams!!!

Joe's eliteness is and was a dumb subject. Who really cares? The media started the debate and ran with it. Personally, I like the fact the idiotic journalist stArted it. It kept teams away and prevented joe from leaving.

These NFL (laughing while I write it) sports writers will never give Flacco his due. They kiss butt. The NY teams, Dallas, GB, and whatever other socially popular team comes first. Those writers on NFL.com make their living creating hype and keeping big market owners happy. We know we have an elite QB. You nor I will never convince those hacks over there. Eisenberg, there's a last time for everything.

Personally I think this elite thing is a bunch of crap!!!! When a player is good, great, excellent, elite, he doesn't have to say it he goes out on the field and proves it. You know their the best because they go out and give their best efforts for the team and for the win. To me a player that runs around saying he's elite is a conceited, has ego issues to justify his over paid contract.

Totally agree. I would not trade Flacco for any other QB in the league. Never missed a game, best post season QB in NFL, and his teammates love him. Like Unitas, a quiet yet effective leader.

Joe is good, and can be very, very good but I have not seen him carry the Team on his back and will them to win. Not like ( you know who...Ray Lewis ). Joe asked for big bucks and he got it. Along with players we could afford. So it is, what it is. He still under throws all is long (bombs) to wide open receivers. He is good but he needs to be better. Even Trent Dilfer has a ring and we know he was never elite. So stop patting your self on the back Raven Fans. He needs to managed and direct receivers like Pyton does and take charge. Then he needs to make the pass and complete it.

By the way. Lets see how much you like good ol Joe when he sticks the Ravens with another huge contract and hand cuffs the team with no extra money for players. Stayed tuned for part 2.

The way the we play, elite does not matter.Consistency, and intelligence is what we need.A QB that knows when to call what when and where, knows how to read defenses.Joe's progressing that way.He just needs to keep his head in the game at all times.I noticed in past years he seems to have brain lapses where it seems like his mind just went somewhere else.Stay focus and he'll be alright.
