[News] Darren Waller, Nick Boyle Impressing In Philly

42 posts in this topic

I can believe Nick Boyle is making an impression,... the TE depth is not like the Receivers and there is no definitive incumbent to unseat; no offense to Crockett Gilmore who "made his bones" last year!   ^_^

I seriously hope, in Darren Waller's case, you're right, Ryan Mink. It was the media who gave us all these glowing reports of the prowess of Tandon Doss, Deonte Thompson, Yamon Figurs , Laquan Williams and David Reed and where are they now?   :34853_shakehead:

Sometimes we need you all in the media to be a bit more objective!   :oldwiseman:

Waller makes the team, 6'6 4.40 speed, that is sick for a guy his size....I'M glad he isn't a clumsy 6'6 WR....

Waller is ahead of the game from where they probably thought he'd be when they drafted him. He's getting a lot of pub, so he has to make the 53 this year. He's grown so much in this short time...I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is his floor...who knows how high his ceiling is.

I'd love to see this translate into a superb "Find" for us, but our prowess picking WR's leaves much to be desired!

On the other hand, we're about due and Perriman's seemingly not burning up the turf at the Ravens' Complex!

Looks like a Perriman replacement. Would be nice if the Ravens could trade Perriman for top AFC corner and I would bet big money on the Ravens in a  Superbowl this year.

If we cut Waller our Superbowl odds have just gone against us by at least 20 points and maybe cost us 1 or 2 winds.

Mark my word he's the next Megatron. I've been waiting for this kind of receiver for over a decade now. I don't think Marlon Brown will get any better.

Trade the first round pick already are you serious? Maybe the Browns would

Glad the rookies are putting on a good impression, but it seems to me people keep relegating Crockett to a "blocking" TE. I think he is going to have a big year and lead the team in TD receptions at least for a few weeks this season. If he doesn't have one yet, I think we should call him 'BIG RIG' and have a loud 18-wheeler type horn blow when he scores! BIIG RIG!!!

I think that Waller and Boyle will both make the 53 man roster and as the season progresses contribute more and more. Although they will both have their opportunities early (Boyle with Pitta being on the PUP list for 6 weeks) and Waller with Perriman (missing most of camp... it may take Perriman some time to get up to speed - where Waller could step in and do some damage right away!_)

yeah we don't give up on our draft picks that quickly. That's what separates us from other organizations like Cleveland who have had 75 diffrent starting qbs in the last 5 years.

Perriman at 6'2 who runs a 4.2 is just as freaky as Waller at 6'6 running a 4.40...Both are keepers, and both will shine in this offense....Anyone putting Perriman down because he has missed practice due to injury is crazy....In OTA's he was abusing all the DB's, give the guy a break...

Ozzie's has two first rounds since 2008 (Joe and C.J) that have really produced. Jimmy Smith had 1 good year. Webb is not going to make it thru the year and the Ravens need experienced AFC corner to beat New England and Pitts. If I could get a very good CB yes I'm serious.

I'm teling you guys Darren Waller need to start with Joe in this preason. Something is special about this kid and I got a good feeling he a Calvin type player only he's bigger and faster. Perriman is going to beast too once it said in done. His speed is scary.

Waller had a few good practices, guys. Lets not drink the Kool-Aid here. The Calvin Johnson comparisons are laughable until the guy actually, y'know, plays a real game and plays well. So far we have some good camp days and a mediocre performance against the Saints' backups. Relax.

@TheSim, I guess your not watching the the same game and same player. Waller did play well v Saints, he drew multiple defensive holding and pass interference penalties, he also drew double coverage on Camps 45yrd TD so he gets partial credit for opening up Camps route, plus he caught a couple.

What do you want??5TDs in the first preseason game. Dont act like Waller isnt a "player", a WR that draws penalties on defenders( like Torrey), with a huge frame to just out muscle defenders and grab jump balls and has shown he can play.

Who ever said Calvin Johnson? But he turned out to be, Alshon Jeffrey, or Plexico Burress, last I checked both had/having great careers as big body wrs.

WALLER is for real

If the Ravens keep Gilmore, Williams and Boyle, and they get some production from each, they're gonna have a difficult decision to make after week 6 regarding Pitta.

Waller gives Flacco that guy who can out muscle smaller DBs to the catch point and can get good yardage on back shoulder passes. Fade routes, once Waller gets a year under his belt could be unstoppable in that package. Put him in the slot and now you have Williams, Waller up the seam and SSS and Perrimen possibly up the sidelines...........pick your poison in 2016 defenses....

Waller looks committed and does Boyle and besides Trestman is a bonified OC not like the one dimensional Cam Cameron the Donte Stallworth double-reverse talk about predictable Trestman offense is TE friendly and we know he likes big WR's Waller will do great in this offense and eventually Waller will have a package or two to use his big frame

Ravens fifth-round TE Nick Boyle has made "far more plays" at training camp than second-rounder Maxx Williams.

Boyle also appeared to play ahead of Williams in Baltimore's preseason opener. The college-to-pro transition for tight ends is as difficult as any position, and all signs point to Williams coming along slowly. He remains a worthwhile Dynasty hold, but we can't expect a year-one impact from Williams at this stage.

Let Waller and Butler start next games. There is no reason to risk Smith Sr, Aiken, or Campanero. Games to should be backups and bubble players. Give them every opportunity to prove themselves.

Waller or Perriman?......I'd cut perriman in a second, then pitta in the next second..........

and that would be the dumbest move you could make. We've got perriman right now for next to nothing for the next 4 years. Cutting him would make absolutely no sense. And I think pitta has earned a little more respect than that, which cutting him also wouldn't make much sense. But look who I'm talkin to, none of your posts make any sense so I'm wastin my time.
