I only saw a highlight and checked the stats but it looks like Deonte Thompson played pretty well with Buffalo.  2 catches, 61 yards and a TD.  Of course it was in the 3rd quarter so not the 1st team.....and probably not the second either

How's McPhee been holdin up ? Haven't heard much .

Saw ole Kruger make a few sacks the other night

McPhee hasn't been good apparently.

Was actually reading up on him yesterday around the web. So far not impressive..not a lot of pressures

you saying their O line D line and Secondary aren't?

I will not be afraid of them until they get a QB. They're solid in the meantime

Cleveland is a team that can steal games and still have no chance to win the division.

Glad to see Tyrod, Deonte, and B. Pierce all doing well.

Couple of Lions updates:

Ihedigbo was a rumored hold-out for more $, as he definitely outplayed his meager contract last year, but Lions wouldn't budge. He's in camp and grinding, becomes a FA next year.

And Haloti's taking TC off on the Non-Football Injury list.

They were a play-off contender up thru Week 12 last year before crashing back to Earth.  I don't think McCown is better than Hoyer, but close enough that he might be a Trent Dilfer-type game manager for them.  Their receiving corps is interesting if not imposing.  They still have Gabriel, Benjamin and Hawkins (not very imposing) and have picked up Bowe, Hartline and are trying to sow a silk purse out of a sow's ear in Terrelle Pryor at receiver.  Yep..."interesting" sums up their WR corps.

The real reason why I came here wasn't to discuss the Browns, though.  It was to give some props to my boy, Tyrod, for his performance against the Browns.  He looked pretty good, but Manuel finished the game off looking really good in his own right.  My thought is that either one will win the starting job and be on a short leash.  Rex was used to that with thr Jets.

I agree. They won 7 games last year in our division which the best in the league, that's a fact. It will be hard for them to Win 7 again I think but it's a team that can ruin other teams plans. Recently I've been telling people this team is good, although they have possibly the worst wr corps next to the titans, if they could get a good game managing qb and just t play very tough defense... Look out.

until they do something about their management from top to bottom they are destined for the basement.

I also agree with that statement, but it doesnt mean they cant make noise.

Kruger has really developed into an all around good player. He's probably one of the best defensive players the Browns have.

Corey Graham had a great season for the Bills last year and I saw lay a wicked hit to Kelvin Benjamin week 1 of preseason. I think they are playing him at S now.

Tyrod is looking like the favorite to start in Buffalo. Glad he is getting an opportunity, but I am skeptical he has what it takes as a passer.

Pryor could be the best Qb on their roster.

Simply put, Cleveland will not remain on the bottom forever; if so, that would be a first. Manziel appears to be maturing and should eventually win the starting position. If he does, he may need just a year or two to come into his own. In the mean time, early preseason appears the Browns are still in need maybe one more DL player and a run producing OL. They have good CBs, and decent RBs. I'm not as hard on the TEs and WRs as some due to the questions at QB and OL.

It's also just as likely that Manziel doesn't progress enough and the Browns are left looking for a new QB again. I personally extreme doubt that he will ever be a successful NFL QB because simply put, his playstyle doesn't work in the big leagues.

I could be wrong but I think Manziel has a good enough arm to make it in the NFL. He will need to learn and excel in pocket play and keep his head on straight. I believe he can make it in the NFL, though not at an elite level.

Manziel is not a good football player by any stretch of the imagination. His immaturity just compounds his problems. It was an idiotic pick. But there's no team i enjoy watching fail more so I love it.

You are being too rough on the Browns, lol. He wouldn't be in the NFL if he wasn't a good football player. But,... he was a head case last year, so it remains to be seen whether there is any improvement in that area.

If the Browns were in almost any other division they would be playoff contenders

I can't go that far yet. They appear to be missing perhaps just a couple of important pieces that may actually be on the team but need time to develop. But, I do think it will be a mistake to take them lightly.

Calm down tiger, thats a little unfair.  He clearly was able to win games, sometimes people just have that "it" factor, like tebow.  now that doesnt mean im saying they are good qbs, there is a differnece.

Look at their record last year. Then account for the fact they faced 3 playoff teams in their division two times a piece. Last yr they wouldve been a playoff team had they not been in this division.

And they beat Pitt and Cinci last year, so you're going to tell me they go 5-1 or 4-2 in which division exactly? Maybe the NFC South, but it's unlikely. They aren't going to be a playoff team until they get a legit QB. It's how the NFL works, you have to at least have mediocre QB play, and the Browns don't have that.
