[News] WR Michael Campanaro 'Coming On Right Now'

I don't think his talent or ability was ever a question as much as the question of staying healthy. His health history would come into play as to how many receivers we actually keep. I guess.

Agreed budman. We all saw the potential whenever he was in the game. The issue was the injuries which he believes have been mitigated by taking up yoga. If he keeps producing I don't care if he is a 7th rounder because they will keep feeding him. Quickness, great hands, athletic, ability to separate and get open in tight coverage.

Cap is a beast. Question is how long he can stay on the field. I hope that yogo helped out with his hamstring injuries. I can see him as our WR3 coming out of the slot.

With the leg condition that Perriman has, I can understand why all eyes are on Campanaro at the moment. When Perriman gets on the field and the season starts, all eyes will focus on Perriman. Both these guys have to stay healthy the entire season, play every game, so Flacco has multiple targets to keep opposing secondaries guessing.

I love watching Camp play. He's a killer against zone defense, which is primarily what he did at Wake Forest; he just needed to learn how to actually run routes, and he has. I think he's actually more athletic than Welker ever was, but maybe I'm just remembering the old Welker.

When you watch the second clip of Flacco to Camp, check out how perfect the spiral is on Joes throw. Its a thing of beauty. The ball actually seems to pick up speed.

We have to keep Deandre Carter to fill the slot void just in case Campanaro goes down and we also need to keep Waller just in case Perriman goes down period.

the had there eye on Julian Edlman couple years ago but DeCosta and Oz also had an eye on Camp in college and decided on Camp cus the talent was there and of he comes much cheaper and younger too

If Camp is solid and performing well now, rest him so he's healthy and let Butler and Waller get reps to develop.

He has the ability to get open, has good hands and makes yards after the catch. I always thought of him as a Welker. He is that good and is on the 53. We would be stupid to cut him. NE would snatch him right away.

All good points...Miami was stupid when they released Welker and the Pats prooved that. Welker got beat down in Denver and the concussions ended his durability.   His ability to get open and use good hands was his forte. With Camp,I see the same talent level which should not be passed over.

I think that he has great hands as well as crisp route running and is not afraid of going through the middle and getting clobbered. We can use as a KR/PR as well. Ozzie always has a great draft this guy was a 6th rounder I believe. Watch out for waller he is 6 ft 6 and ran a 4.43 he is raw but in a year or two he could be next perriman as our starters ohh btw he was 6th rounder too what a coinsidence

@Bmore#410 I think Camp was a 7th round draft pick last year... Ravens got the pick from Cleveland if I am not mistaken... he too has been a steal if he can stay healthy...

I've been a big Camp fan since I first saw him. Obviously, the only problem was the fact that he had those early injury problems and couldn't stay on the field. But, as far as ability goes, this kid's got Plenty. If he stays healthy, he's going to be a great one. He's a slot receiver that looks more and more like a Wes Welker every time he gets on the field. I already think he's a keeper. As far as I'm concerned, keep him out of the games leading up to the season and let the ones fighting for the last couple of spots on the roster get the reps they need to prove their case. SSS, Perriman, Aiken, and Camp have made it. Let Waller, Brown, if he can ever get healthy himself again, Butler, and Carter fight for the last two spots. That's if they keep six, of course. I've got my favorites for the last two as well, but it's early. Let them win them.

Just one more of many Ozzie's success stories. Campanaro is going to be flat-out amazing - and will be a favorite target of Joe's for years to come. His quickness, his separation ability, his feel for the coverage - all mentioned above. But he is an excellent route runner and has sure hands, too.

Having Camp's skill sets along with our fast tall receivers and big TE's should give defenses fits, Camps only challenge to be successful is staying healthy. It's amazing how this team has evolved from a defensive/ground and pound team to a well above average team for all aspects: defense, offense, pass, run, pass rush, trenches... Gonna be tough keeping this team out of the playoffs and I don't see a "rebuilding year" any time soon
