[News] John Harbaugh 'Hates' That Breshad Perriman Is Still Out

55 posts in this topic

At this point in time, after what apparently was little to no ability to stretch the field against the Saints, we need to consider whether Perriman is going to be productive at all this year and do we need to trade for or bring in someone who has the speed to do that. With an already crowded receiver corps, it could mean losing someone we wanted to keep but without that speed, our offense will be drastically limited. Last thing you want is the strongest arm in the NFL and no one who has the burst to create separation downfield. All the eggs were in one basket and someone dropped that basket and we are going to end up with egg all over our face if we continue to wait for something to happen without proactively addressing it. Bring in a burner and if Perriman is back in time, then he can be cut, but if not, then we at least have an insurance policy. Not that there is much left out there, but time for Ozzy to do his magic.

A Preseason week 1 offense is watered down. Every team goes vanilla during these games. We will not pick up another wide receiver.

NO way do we bring in another receiver. We have what we need on the squad already. WAAAY too early to write off anyone. Players do not need 4.2 speed to be able to take the top off. Ozzie has done his job. Now it's time for the players to do theirs.

Are people really in panic mode here? Its a bone bruise and probably a slight tweak to the tendon or ligament. it will take a few weeks its not soft tissue bruises that heal really fast. He will be back and will be a monster for us this season. Just R_E_L_A_X and wait it out everything will be fine...

Ya, it sucks that we can't play with our shiny new toy but Perriman will be out there as soon as they feel he can compete effectively without hesitation due to a lingering injury.

Since we're not hearing the whole story from the FO, I imagine it could be an attitude thing of not wanting to risk injuring himself further, so early in his career, (which should prove to be a lucrative one!)or it could be something else that is none of our business to know. He's our 1st round draft pick, he's not going anywhere and we have some talent at WR already that may take offense at how worried some are that Perriman isn't out there yet.

Like MichaelJ34 said "REALAX". We have a great team, with or without Perriman and we'll see him in Purple when it's best for him and the team.

fusuymada, as GM of your Fantasy football team you do need to consider Perriman's production in your Fantasy world, and leave the big-boy stuff to the real-world professionals.

What about Waller and Carter those guys have speed

Waller's a sixth round rookie nobody knows about he's gonna be a reserve (And he ran a 4.45-ish idr he's not a vertical threat with speed as he is making contested catches down the sideline and the ravens use speed recievers as deep threats marc trestman can do both so we'll see waller makes the roster as the 4th-6th reciever just depends on how well he develops) Carter's not making the roster. Smith,Perriman,Brown,Waller,Aiken are locked into the top 5 spots and the 6th spot will probaly go to campanaro since they spent two draft picks on him (Including the trade)

Yea, I hate to see Perriman out for 14 practice sessions. I would hate it more to see him on crutches. Take a deep breath. No reason to stress out. We have a WR corps second to none. Besides that, we have two rookie tight ends that will get better with every game they play. Flacco will make everyone look great. If Perriman gets to play, Joe will make him look great too.

I will be really concerned if he Perriman is not back by next game. But I am really liking Darren Waller and looking forward to him having another productive game. Waller 6'6 235lb 4.3 speed special talent has shown best of the other WRs, with penalties drawn on defendwrs, catches, etc Waller will be on this team, unless the ravens are dumb

We have a ton of depth at WR, i think we all want to see what Perriman can do against other teams, it stinks, but it is what it is.....Harbs won't worry about things that are out of his control, and neither should we....We need to focus, and enjoy watching the guys who are on the field and playing....

There is something going on with Perriman's knee that isn't being disclosed. If I were to hazard a guess, I would think he has some kind of an MCL sprain. Else, he wouldn't have missed 14 practices with a knee contusion.

I agree ellicotraven, at this point it would have to be a strain of some sort, that is making it difficult to make all the cuts....

Typical Ravens commentary on a Training Camp issue

______ (insert name of player) - "...Oh it's a minor nick/bruise. He should be back later this week. Could be any day now..."

...later that season in Week 5......

I still think the guy ends up on IR this season.  He is still a very raw player, on a team with a bunch of young receivers that have done more with their opportunities.  He has the size and speed to give most defenses fits but he has to learn how to use that size and speed before he becomes an effective receiver.

Will you all stop asking questions that you know will get the no-answer answer. Harbaugh is not going to tell what he knows.

Can we please stop writing 3 or 4 articles a week on this too! Old is not "news."

Boy, oh boy, oh boy......and no one can speak to Perriman? Right now we have one 1st string receiver, and he's slow and 36. Oz must be looking the wire over real close.

I wish I could link up the post I made about a potential 53 man roster. I was curious to see just how many the Ravens could carry at any position and if the Ravens want to construct their roster the way I did, there is room to carry 7 wide outs. You can see who I picked:

1 QB1: Joe Flacco

2 QB2: Matt Schaub

3 HB1: Justin Forsett

4 HB2: Lorenzo Taliafero

5 HB3: Buck Allen

6 FB: Kyle Jusczyzck

7 WR1: Steve Smith

8 WR2: Breshad Perriman

9 WR3: Kamar Aiken

10 WR4: Marlon Brown

11 WR5: Jeremy Butler

12 WR6: Micheal Campanaro

13 TE1: Crockett Gilmore

14 TE2: Maxx Williams

15 TE3: Nick Boyle

16 LT: Eugene Monroe

17 LG: Kelechi Osemele

18 C: Jeremy Zuttah

19 RG: Marshal Yanda

20 RT: Ricky Wagner

21 OL: John Urschel

22 OL: James Hurst

23 LS: Morgan Cox

24 K: Justin Tucker

25 P: Sam Koch

26 DL1: Brandon Williams

27 DL2: Timmy Jernigan

28 DL3: Chris Canty

29 DL4: Carl Davis

30 DL5: Lawrence Guy

31 DL6: Steven Means/Kapron Lewis-Moore/Christo Bilukidi

32 OLB1: Terrell Suggs

33 OLB2: Elvis Dumervil

34 OLB3: Courtney Upshaw

35 OLB4: Za'Darius Smith

36 MLB1: Darryl Smith

37 MLB2: C.J. Mosley

38 MLB3: Zach Orr

39 MLB4: Albert McClellan

40 CB1: Jimmy Smith

41 CB2: Lardarius Webb

42 CB3: Kyle Arrington

43 CB4: Asa Jackson

44 CB5: Cassius Vaughn/Rashan Melvin/Tray Walker/Quinton Pointer

45 S1: Kendrick Lewis

46 S2: Will Hill

47 S3: Anthony Levine

48 S4: Brynden Trawick

49 OPEN SLOT  EXTRA DL? I think it goes to Bilukidi over Lewis-Moore as Bilukidi plays NT and KLM is an end

50 OPEN SLOT EXTRA DB? Lot of guys fighting for that 5th CB slot, I put Quinton Pointer here if they take 6.

51 OPEN SLOT EXTRA WR? Darren Waller

52 OPEN SLOT EXTRA OL? I am pretty certain the Ravens will keep at least 8 OL and I give it to Jensen as a C.

53 OPEN SLOT could be anything...but it goes to whomever actually shows up between Kapron Lewis-Moore (DL), Arthur Brown (MLB), Brennen Beyer (OLB), or Robert Myers (OG) or even Nick Perry (S).

There is nothing to warrant IR .. a bone bruise can take a long time to heal... the reason they take it slow is that any further injury to the affected area usually results in a fracture. essentially a bone bruise needs time to heal up to a month or 2. with ice massages several times a day the trainers i am sure have the situation under control im sure they have done MRI's to see where it stands and know exactly where he is at with recovery.

I'm sure Perriman isn't happy about missing time as well. At this point I think we all know this isn't a bruise and there was a report at one time that said it was a bruise/strain. I know from personal experience that strains can bruise and depending on how bad they are; grade 1 minor, grade 2 intermediate, and grade 3 severe, they can take a long time to heal. Grade 3 is about as bad as you can get before you tear something. I was unfortunate enough to get a grade 2 strain of my left quad and my entire thigh turned Ravens colors and it took me about two months to get back to running again. I certainly hope it isn't anything serious for him. I am just curious though, does anybody look at him and think he looks much older than what he should? They said the same thing about the NBA player Greg Oden. Guy was 21 and people said he looked 41 and then he promptly blows out a knee.

Is it odd that Perriman has not spoken to the press at all?  Seems so to me...its irritating that Harbs when he speaks abt Perrimans injury said...."I didn't take those classes in college" What?! No kidding.  Also the fact that he said he has a knot in his stomach over this, says more than anything.

Good lord when will this constant belly-aching over Perriman end. He is injured. It does not appear to serious or season ending..look at the slew of injuries on other teams, much more serious and CHILL!

yeah its a shame on perriman but not excatly an out loss if jeremy butler could get more involved down field like he has in pratice it would give you the similar production of what could be perriman's speed as for waller pratice squad is likely considering he and marlon brown have similar traits
