As the Season Begins.......

7 posts in this topic

Now that we are on the eve of the new season, I would like to ask everyone to review the forum rules, aka the Board Basics,

http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules

The main thing we ask is that members post kindly and do not name-call or belittle other posters, including visitors from other teams. Instead, share your knowledge and insight so we all may learn. We want to hear from YOU — a member of our Flock — in YOUR words, so please don't post non-football related pictures or videos as a response to someone else’s comment.

Please do not confuse being discontent with another fan's opinions or general criticism with trolling. There is a distinct difference.

We respect our Flock members' privacy and, therefore, we do not condone discussing moderator actions in our public blogs or forums. Any public comments regarding moderator actions will be removed so the flow of discussion won’t be interrupted and the privacy of our members can be maintained.

Lastly, just as at the stadium, have fun, root hard, show respect for fellow fans and don't be a jerk! Here’s to an awesome season and a third Super Bowl!

Thanks Mod 2.  I know I am looking forward to a great season.  Cannot wait to get this one started.

If I may add...

Many of our members get frustrated when others post the same comment or opinion over and over, trying to convince others that his or her "opinion" is right.  Please understand that saying it 6 times isn't really going to change someone else's opinion.  Keep in mind that an opinion is just that, it's your opinion.  It may not be a point that is either right or wrong.  If you would like to "argue" facts or stats, we like when members post a Link that substantiates that point.  It's helpful.

Posting inaccurate "facts" that are not really facts, or posting something intentionally to rile someone up, looking for an argument is considered trolling.  Think about the actual sport of fishing...  using bait to draw someone in...  Some members do not make that actual connection, and therefore will not understand the concept.

We looked great last night.  A little tweak here and there and we will be right in it this year.  Let's go Ravens

All I need to work on is keeping myself from swearing. I don't do it on purpose it just slips out during intense games especially.

i probably would've been banned from the internet after Torrey's failed attempt to jump for the ball. Lee Evans I completely lost it, I went crazy.

It's funny when I look back in my inbox at warnings for some of my earlier posts. The MNF Jags game set me off. I was livid.

I have what is called 'football language' and am working on raising my 4th and they all know not to repeat EVER what they have heard mom mutter, in fact they park the swear jar just out of my reach so I can't throw it.lol The 6 months the Ravens don't play I strive to be good.

If it is ok to add.....some players have a bad game or many bad games and coaches may not call plays you agree with. If you don't like the way they are playing that is cool you should have a right to say if you feel they are over paid or if we should not have signed them, or if you feel a coach should be fired.....but try to remember they have families and calling them bums and personally attacking them is uncool. I was not a fan of Cam Cameron as an offensive coordinator and I wanted the front office to make a change, but I never had anything against him personally and I would never personally attack him. Lastly, please never express that you are happy a player got injured, that is just rude.
