Local radio shows that discuss Ravens football.

What are the local radio shows in the Bmore area that discuss the Ravens?

I'm 4hrs away and would like to listen to some of the local talk shows.

Thanks.

It is shocking how little play the Ravens get on local radio. Especially when compared to other markets where football and the local team is discussed routinely and in great detail

There used to be a weekly Ravens show on Saturday on 1090. Last I checked it has been replaced by a show about wine.

The vinnie and rob show on 105.7 is abysmal unless you enjoy two unfunny guys cackling over themselves. That station tends to talk only in a very general sense about the Ravens ...and almost as an afterthought.

Will someone on this board start a podcast? Please.

i had to drive to baltimore this morning for work and i was looking forward to listening to sports radio on 105.7 about the game last night. the conversation was so useless after 10 minutes i turned to the nfl network on sirius. its hard to build a good fan base without good local sports radio.

Man this sucks to hear, I was hoping to find a decent show that I could listen to online. I'm in Redskins country and I don't even think about listening to local radio down here.

I would love to see a good post game show.

Do note I said GOOD. The one on MASN was never good.

The Redskins have what I wish we had in terms of radio/television coverage.

980 am spends a ton of time on their local team. Not just discussing them generally either. They break down offensive line play, defensive play calls, broadcast directly from training camp and basically talk football in a very relaxed way.

They also have a half hour televised program that airs 365.

I've see better looking sets for local high school news programs on cable access. It's too bad the guy who owns MASN doesn't have a lot of money. Honestly, I think he is more interested in re-airing oriole "classics".....you know, when they beat the Padres in extra innings five years ago.

105.7 is so ridiculously focused on baseball, all of their shows are. i dont understand how it can be week 1 of the football season, and the orioles could be fighting for .500, and the ravens would get like a 10 minute segment of the show dedicated to them, the rest would be talking about what the orioles are gonna do with their offseason and throwing rapid fire numbers out there for the players, and throwing a fit about how we opted for snider over markakis and how nelson cruz is near tops in the league in homers and chris davis hasnt been the same player and he cant be counted on and bla bla bla.

its unbearable. all 3 of the 105.7 shows need to be booted the hell off the air for people that are less biased and less obnoxious, i would love to hear a show with maybe the goose to represent the ravens and someone to represent the orioles, have a 50/50 dedication and talk about whats current, rather than discussing your backup reliever's ERA while the ravens are in the thick of a playoff hunt and the o's are at home.

hell baltimore doesnt even have a hockey team and the baltimore fanbase for the caps is shaky at best, and they were more focused on the 2nd round of the playoffs that the caps werent even involved in, than the amazing draft the ravens had just pulled off. ive given up on 105.7, /endrant

If you can stand our Lord and Savior Nestor Aparicio, WNST 1570 is pretty good Ravens talk. I think Nestor's insufferable, so I stick to WBAL 1090 and 98 Rock. Sportsline with Brett Hollander on WBAL is great but it's in the evening.

105.7 The Fan is way baseball focused right now, but to me, they're pretty good once Orioles season ends.

WFAN has to talk about all sports and when its football season they talk football. The draft is a three day event that got plenty of coverage during its time. Of course baseball is gonna be talked about during the summer months.

Yup, sports radio in Baltimore is bad. I'm not a fan or foe of Nestor but I wish he'd bring back some sports talk shows, especially in the morning because 105.7 is terrible. Vinny and Rob is the only show I can get through; although they often spend too much time off topic and aren't as funny as they think they are. No disrespect to Scott Garceau but his TV legend reputation doesn't cross over to radio. Constantly interrupts, talks over everybody, and he and Jeremy's attempt at sarcasm every 5 seconds is brutal. Lastly, Steve Davis is the worst! Uptight elitist attitude. He's worked everywhere. A journeyman sports reporter because he sucks. Ed Norris seems like a nice guy but he's out of place; not a sports guy.

Since 105.7 is the Orioles flagship station I imagine they have to dedicate a large portion of time to Oriole talk.

105.7 The Fan. 98 Rock some. Good luck. Lots of idiots call in.

SO freaking Right,

How bout BOB,  the man starts getting angrier and angrier the longer he is on the phone. To the point that his voices is shaky at best.

So Annoying

what is WFAN? You're the referring to the fan are you? Because they really do spend a ridiculous amount of time talking about baseball, EVEN IF baseball season is over. Last winter they spent more time talking about Orioles free agency than the Ravens current season,

tune in on a Tuesday following a Sunday game. It is very disappointing how quickly they seem to move away from discussing the Ravens.

I would like to be to able to hear some in depth analysis of the team, it's upcoming game, how we match up in the trenches...what we might ned to be about in terms of play calling, etc.

You will hear none of it on 105.7. I suppose it is part of their gig as the station that broadcasts oriole games to saturate their air waves with baseball all day every day but I am a bit puzzled that apparently so many fans listen to what amounts essentially to 10-12 hours of the radio hosts pondering whether or not the Orioles can take two out of three from one of the many awful teams in our league and what Ryan Flaherty hits against left hand pitching in an afternoon game following a day off before the all star break.

Thankfully, we have this site. Otherwise the situation in terms of coverage would be bleak

I have pretty much done away with the radio. Podcasts are a lot better to listen to. I haven't found any really good ones devoted solely to the Ravens. But a couple of the best ones are the ross tucker football podcast and chalk tall with doug farrar. This week he does the AFC north with greg cossell. You won't find any better analysis on any media.

Thanks for the heads up. I listened to this a lot leading up to the draft and forgot all about it.

Really enjoyed it.

no idea why none of you understand that 105.7 the fan isnt going to talk about ravens preseason games. they just became the official orioles flagship station a few months ago. obviously because they get more orioles fans listening at this time of year than ravens fans. just because you all are die hard ravens fans and want to talk about players that will be cut in a few weeks doesnt mean everyone else does.

once the regular season starts they'll talk ravens football, they always do. last year about 90% of the time i tuned to 105.7 during the regular season they were talking ravens or began talking ravens within 5-10 minutes of listening.

105.7 was all Ravens all the time until the Orioles became relavent in 2012.Now during the summer, it's 80/20 Orioles but that changes as the season gets closer.

i dont know what youre talking about. i dont have all day to listen, i get about 2 hours of listening per day, but i could tune in in december while the ravens are pushing their way into the playoffs, and they would be discussing orioles free agency strategies almost 100% of the time, maybe im at work when they decide to talk ravens, but they are so heavily favored for the orioles its ridiculous. vinnie and rob, jesus, let vinnie mention a player the orioles let go or overpaid, and rob will passionately rant about that one thing for 10 minutes, while taking 10 second intervals of silence in between each sentence

"you cant depend on so-and-so with .XXX batting average for this much money(10 second pause) ya just cant(10 second pause) ya cant do it vinnie, when im coaching my sons little league team we do blablabla(10 second pause) and even these kids wouldnt blablabla(10 second pause) ya just cant do it, and the orioles need to go after so and so to fix this etc. etc. (corny endorsement with vinnie obviously lying about personally using a product or service)"

the typical vinnie and rob conversation during football season.

ill put it this way...

when football and baseball season intersect: 75/25 orioles/ravens

when its only baseball: 99.9% orioles and whatever is happening in the sports world

NFL draft season: 90% orioles, 8% stanley cup playoffs, 1% ravens draft, 1% overhyped top 5 picks

NFL season after baseball ends: 50% orioles offseason moves, 50% ravens CURRENT season.

why do the ravens get zero mention in anything during the offseason, while the orioles get a ton of coverage during their offseason?

105.7 was basically all Ravens all the time before the partnership with the O's.

A Ravens podcast would be nice.

Yeah pretty much thats what made me stop listening. When Vinny started doing his Joe doesn't throw with his WR rant, and they constantly played vinny's rant every commercial it started getting stale to me. Then time after time it was o's here, O's there. Every show.

The Vinnie show spends more time discussing his sons schedule of little league games than they do the Ravens.

Meanwhile in DC,SPORTS TALK 980 talks football all day...with insight and passion. Unfortunately they discuss the Redskins

That town has a baseball team in contention, a hockey team, an NBA team on the cusp and they still lead with football. Seems odd that we have a team in the Ravens who spill their guts to win every year and the biggest sports talk station in town treats them as an afterthought.

Funny, I was actually just listening to 105.7 the Fan tonight and they called out the ravens message board. They made a good point stating the traffic on this board is extremely small compared to cities like NY, Dallas, New England etc. Which puts into perspective we actually have an extremely small fan base compared to an organization like the Redskins who reach out to the DC metropolitan area and then some. And im sure has a huge reason why we dont get much air play, and also why you rarely hear us on ESPN or NFL network. Ravens fans just dont realize that and/or hate to accept it. Just learn to love what we have, which is a great blue collar organization. Thats what made our super bowl run that much better, knocking off two heavyweights like Denver and New England in their own house.

and dont use the "i dont have time to listen" excuse. that doesnt work.

Wonder who said that. PG County Redskin fan Tony, or Dallas Cowboy lover Ryan, or Devils advocate Kenny Weinman, or cornball Bruce Cunningham...because it's crap.
