HOFR No doubt. And if they dont put him in shame on the HOF.

Not only does he move top 10 with 636 yrds this yr receiving, but top 7 All Time All Purpose yrds past Tomlinson,Sanders,H.Walker with bout 800ish more yrds.

Then add all those 1K yrd seasons with joke QBs, 8 overall. Maybe 9 if he gets one this year.

Dude is a HOFr....if Jerome Bettis got in, no doubt Smith Sr gets in. Smith Sr more HOFr then Bettis ever was

Great article Kevin. Contrary to many who think SSS should have waited to announce his retirement, I am glad he did so before the season. SSS's quote to the team was perfect and can set the tone for the entire season. "I plan to leave a trail of destruction behind...It's going to be my honor and privilege to do that with all of you". If every player remembers and adopts that mentality every practice and game throughout the season, that's 1 powerful, tough mindset to sustain motivation.

I don't see where the Hall Of Fame is such a big deal. Its 46 columnists deciding who their favorites are. The fact they haven't put Art Modell in shows they cant be all that bright or fair when a couple of columnists from Cleveland cab keep Art out after all hes done for football and the Ravens.

Many of the so-called "fantasy experts" have considered SSS a very late-round afterthought, saying he won't have enough gas in the tank to produce last year's numbers. Don't you believe it for a second. As fiery as he is, you know he's gonna push himself and the rest of the team to go hard and go out on top.

Imagine what this season will be like for his family, and especially his son(s). Or Rays boys? Watching your father play NFL Football at M&T, and knowing each game will be among the last times you watch your father on that stage!
