[News] Late For Work 8/14: Joe Flacco Responds To GOP Question With Autograph

26 posts in this topic

First team offense and defense knocked my socks off and actually exceeded my very high expectations. Just stay healthy. Couldn't have asked for a more reaffirming performance to know that this team has the makings of a Super Bowl contender....and winner.

Harbs will whipped those rookies and backups into shape.  I don't think I've ever seen him that upset.

Looks like i better stock up on heart meds before the regular season starts.

I couldn't watch the game, but when N.O stormed back i could just envision Harbs going crazy, he hates to lose, and hates to see his team get pushed around....Lbing and secondary depth needs to get better....And they should over the next few weeks, i give them a pass being the first pre-season game, as they get thrown in on the fly playing with different personal...Yep and sticking to that....:)

That opening drive was ultra conservative to protect Flacco from hits. One thing that I like is how much we are going to use our big Tight Ends. Our O-Line is dominant, We are deep at every skill position on offense, and we have a winner at QB. This offense should hurt teams once we get Perriman backing up those safeties. I love the way Camp played last night as well. I would let him do kicks and punts since we have so many WR's who will be in a rotation. My one fear is that our pass rush will miss McPhee. Suggs and Doom will get after it, but we need an interior guy to step up and get pressure. IMO Timmy Jerrnigan is that guy. We are looking pretty solid at CB and Saftey right now. Arrington looked good, and Pointer was better than I expected. Stewart who started all last year is now providing depth, and Terrance Brooks should be coming back soon too.

That comment by Harbs has to be the best one in 8 years... LOL. He was really ticked off at the defense. It's been a long time. He's right.

No matter what happens with Renner, he will always have this story to tell his kids and grand kids, leading the team to victory with 2 seconds left....What a great memory to have....

Back ups on defense exposed our biggest needs for improvement last night. On the bright side, there's nothing like seeing film study of their own coverage mistakes for the young back ups to make the needed corrections. I expect many of the technique and coverage issues to vastly improve before the season starts.

I really want to see what Davis, Brandon, and Jernigan can do on the field at the same time....Next week against a uptempo Eagles team will really test the front 7 and secondary....

That Mad Maxx play, one word...Siiiick!!, the funny thing is that if you pay attention there is a offensive line dude on the saints bench that in the second tackle gets all happy but then after the first down he is like "ah never mind"

The 2nd/3rd team defense will make the necessary corrections and with the Ravens scrimmaging the Eagles before their next pre-season game, I expect them to really come out of this knowing who the real depth players will be for the season. As Harbs always says, "Iron sharpens Iron"!

This could be the best draft class the Ravens have ever had, top to bottom. Scary! Even without Perriman and Quadzilla, the rooks stepped up

That backup defense was pretty shoddy, but then again many of them were actually 3rd stringers playing against 1st and 2nd stringers. That said, I was underwhelmed by Zach Orr and Albert McClellan, and Anthony Levine was inconsistent. I think a lot of it was a lack of communication, there seemed to be a lot of guesswork going on. Arthur Brown played as well or better than all of those guys, but still made you worry about whether or not he could line up against 1st team players.

Both Carl Davis and Lawrence Guy looked like starters, plain and simple. Davis is a legitimately scary player. There was a play in the 1st quarter where their LG gets a good jump, has leverage, but Davis just stands him up and pushes him back immediately, like the guy was a crappy TE. He and Jernigan basically look like the same guy out there. Guy isn't gonna make a Pro Bowl anytime soon but he clearly knows how to play 3-4 DE. Whatever OLB is on his side is going to feast. Brandon Williams looked like Kelly Gregg per usual, that guy is a monster NG. If you like watching Dline play, this season is going to be extremely fun to watch.

How about that other rookie tight end, Boyle, he was great at blocking the only one pass ever went to him. He looked surprised that there was a pass thrown to him by Shaub. Good TE also.

I almost wonder if that wasn't a jab at Dean Pees a little bit and his bend-don't-break approach.  I'm sure I'm reading too much into it, but it does get tiring as a long-time fan when you feel like we never make it easy in the last 2 minutes on D.

Sometime this preseason, I'd like Harbs to bench JTuck for a game and GO4IT on 4th down every time. We gotta quit settling for field goals and start forcing touchdowns. Just a thought.

Schaub definitely missed Maxx for that TD. Instead of trusting that he would snatch it over the LB he threw it way outside of both of them where no one could make that play. It wasn't a drop, it was a miss. Crockett and Maxx will move the chains and work the RedZone this year.

"The defensive backups allowed Saints quarterback Josh McCown to throw a 28-yard touchdown pass to receiver Brandin Cooks."

That would be Luke McCown.

We did that on our first drive last night.

Dont get the pees supporters started lol. To be fair, alot of the plays were executed well but very poor tackeling occured. Its only the first game, so we have alot of time to fix this. Not worried.

Dear mods and admins....

I appreciate the effort put into adding some spice to baltimoreravens.com with this new theme. It's cool that we are using Ravens colors but in my humble opinion, it's really tough to read grey text from a black background and even harder to read purple from a black background. I appreciate all the effort put in this website and don't mean to sound negative but I'm literally having to zoom in so much and place my phone inches away from my face.

Thank you,

Halshayeji

Where are you seeing that?

For a few hours yesterday when I was on, all the articles had black backgrounds. It seems that the problem has been fixed. Looking forward to a great season and all the surprises you guys have in store for us. Thank you and all the people working behind the scenes for keeping this website running and community alive.
