[News] Ravens' First-Team Offense Cruises In Debut

This is just the beginning of what is to come! I said this before that I believe in Marc Trestman. Coach Harbs made the right choice for coach Kubiak's successor. You can't judge Trestman on what happened with the Bears and think that's going to happen to us. We have Joe Flacco not Jay Cutler. Even though this is just the first pre season game, it's great to see our starting offense look this good.

I'm excited about this year. Especially the red zone offense. A 6'6" QB has the possibility of having a 6'6" WR Waller, a 6'5" WR Brown, a 6'6" TE Gilmore and a 6'4" TE Williams on the field at the same time. They need to find a way to keep Waller. IR or have 7 WR's

Darren Waller can become a dangerous football player. When I look at him on Tv he is huge compare to the Saints corners. I will love to see him connect with Joe as well as Perriman. :-)

Taliaferro needs to stay healthy. The kid is a beast, and can only get better. IF he stays healthy, and gets the kind of carries he should this coming season, there is no reason in my mind why he can't show the Ravens that he can be the starter of the future for us. I saw it in him last year, and I hope to see even more from him this year. Staying healthy is the key. Forsett is a good veteran safety value for now. But perhaps Taliaferro and Allen could be our "Thunder and Lightning" combo in years to come.

We Look Dominant.  I'm all beside myself with this roster.  Liked Maxx on the rampage run and Camp with that catch.

Solid performance. Excited about the regular season! Schaub did well...Quadry Ismail explained that the one interception wasn't really his fault and it made sense. Great that the back-up RB's looked so good! Still, the Saints almost won despite really sloppy play. An area of concern?

Even before the season ended, I figured Kubiak would move on and wanted Marc Trestman to be the next OC.

Just an observation here and I could sit and congratulate the offense like many others have and don't think I am trying to throw a wet towel on the party (I am not sure I know what that means) but this is my thought and I wonder if anyone else saw what I saw. I noticed the QBs were doing the hurry up hand signal to Trestman trying to get the play in. Many times when you saw the QBs doing that, the cameras would go to Trestman who was standing there talking to someone on the sideline and then you could see him send in the call. That was a HUGE problem with Cameron and it handcuffs Joe (or whatever QB) from getting to the line and being able to read the defense. Even on the final drive when Renner was trying to move the ball, he would get to the line with only 4 seconds left on the clock and would have to just snap the ball and hope for the best. This has to be corrected. Also, Asa Jackson is hurt already, again? That really concerns me if we are relying on him to be a returner. Also, Arrington looked pathetic. Whether in coverage or tackling, it was like he wasn't even on the field. If he is our backup to replace the outside corners if they go down, hope Webb or J Smith don't get injured or look for another year like last year. We weren't going to get in this spot again according to OZ where our secondary is a pushover, but all we added were Arrington and Cassius Vaughn and both were less than impressive.

This feels a lot like last year's 1st pre-season game, where we took the opening drive the distance for the TD. My feeling then, as is my feeling now, is that drive set the tone with Kubiak as our new OC and this drive set the tone for Trestman as our new OC.

I feel like we're in good hands with respect to our offensive mindset, which starts with the OC.

If we continue to see Waller grow through the rest of the pre-season, I have to think he's on our roster and not a mystery IR entry to hide him from waivers. I really hope we don't do that with him. How many guys that we've done that with ever amounted to anything? I think he needs to be on the squad, practicing with the team to improve his game. We either keep 7 WRs to do it, or it is possible that it comes down to either him or Butler.

Offense will be great but Special Teams gave up large yards in run backs and I'm still not convinced this secondary is any better than it was in he New England game last year. Zachary Orr, , Max Williams, and Carl Davis looked like Ravens. Ravens need to build a great depth in players.

that's a good observation about the late play calling. Luckily that's something that can easily be fixed as long as joe is vocal about it and let's him know that's a problem. If anything it helped the qbs get acclimated to beating the play clock and performing under duress( not that that was their intention). I also think our secondary is a lot better than we looked last night. We have a lot of work to do but overall many of our mistakes can be fixed. Edited by January J
