i think the ravens should bring back rice what happened to the days where you could give a guy a second chance they gave ray lewis a second chance jamal lewis a second chance why not rice

Even after having the Ray Rice jersey exchange days? How do you think that would make the organization and the tens of thousands of fans look who participated? Pretty dumb, and even ticked off right? That "minor" issue aside, we're coming off of the most peaceful, uneventful off-seasons that we've had in a few years now, so why on earth would you want to ruin it now by dragging the circus back into town? The only chance Ray Rice has to ever wear purple in this league again is if Adrian Peterson goes down, and even then that's a pretty big if. Ray Rice will get a second chance just like you want, but it won't be in Baltimore.

I hope he does go to the Browns. At least it would make their games just a little more interesting. They can have the distraction, and the headache.

Besides all that we kinda don't need him. Justin, Lorenzo, and Buck have got this.

A lot of it is just fear of bad PR. Though why they don't manage PR sensibly and will rather be a losing team without the media hassle, I don't know. Make an announcement, send some team money to a DV charity, have him become a face of some org that helps either DV victims or the offenders with temper management, live through the 1 week of bad publicity, then move on to football and be glad, that with Ray you might still bee talking about football in January.

Dorota you should have a career in PR, that was well thought out and eloquently put.  I would never have thought of that.

Thank you! :)

It wouldn't be possible with any type of player, I don't think you can make Dez Bryant a charity type of guy, because he is what he is, but Ray is different. Unfortunately, his altercation made people forget who he was before, but if you look at it, he was one of the players most engaged in charity, he did stuff with bullied kids, went to schools, organized activities and put a considerable amount of his money into it. He's a genuinely likable guy.. Therefore, it wouldn't look like a PR fix-up to justify why you sign a rotten person onto your team. It would be getting back on track. He could become a success story - i.e. Even if you mess up in life, even if you've done something bad, there is redemption, and there is a point to try. He can choose which part of the equation he wants to support, whether the victims of DV or the perpetrators. Help them get their act together. Because, let's face it, if a victim leaves a violent partner, it fixes the life for the victim, but there's another one around the corner that'll hook up with the violent partner and history repeats itself. Those "bad" people need guidance too, if they are willing to accept it.

So I think it could work. Plus, people get bored easy, he won't be national news for too long, or not for that one thing. Remember, he is an elite football player, just forget 2013, that was more issues than just Ray. He's been keeping himself in shape. He's had time to fix up all the lingering injuries over the course of 2014. There is nothing to lose in giving him a workout and seeing if he's still got it.

They can make a deal with JJ Watt, that if Ray goes of the deep end again, JJ will break his legs ;) Because I really believe that Texans would be a good fit for him right now and they're not as tainted as some others and could absorb the initial hit with next to no collateral damage on the PR front.
