[News] News And Notes 8/11: Thunderstorm Forces Practice Change

The injuries that concern me a tad are the ones to Urschel, and Meyers...Both youngsters, and are expected to be our solid depth on the O-Line....Meyers being a rook is missing valuable reps, but concussions are a serious things these days in the N.F.L.....

Juan Dixon and Steve Francis! Wow it wasn't yesterday that theese guys were star Terrapin hoops players. Francis was a shooting star in the NBA! He came, shone real bright and fizzled real fast! Great that these guys saw practice and even greater that they're Ravens fans!

That must of been a very deep bruise that Perriman had cause it's been 2 weeks now. They should not make the fans wait to hear at least an update on him. Is he out for the season or not?

Garret Downing, Ryan Mink, and Sarah Ellison are turning into maybe the best trio of news editors/writers/journalist amongst other NFL team writers.

Garret will always have those very accurate informing articles.

Ryan's articles are like your're discussing your team with your brother who is a fan of a different team but still tells it how it is lol.

Sarah's will always be detailed, long, and juicy

So any of my fellow Raven fans believe Perriman will end up in the PUP? Pitta will go on IR since we don't need him this year. I know it sucks to think that but it's not looking good with either one and I would rather wait until Perriman is completely healthy before throwing him in some action especially being a speed guy.

"-  Cornerback Lardarius Webb (hamstring) and safety Kendrick Lewis(leg) both returned to practice."

Finally some good news... Music to my ears.

I was at this practice. The skies were mostly clear and blue when they told us to leave. Most of us were believing there was a conspiracy to hide the second half of practice. My family moved to the shuttle bus quickly. By the time we got back to my truck, the heavy hard rain came. It will be interesting to see if we actually get an invite next year like they said we would. The terms specifically say we would forfeit our chance if practice has to be inside.

My lasting impression of Steve Francis is him whining and crying at the NBA draft when he was picked by Vancouver. My lasting impression of Juan Dixon, was him and Lonny Baxter carrying the Terps to that nerve wracking win over Connecticut (who I believe were #1 seed at the time) on their way to the title. Am I crazy, or did I hear that the Terps are the NCAA basketball 2015-16 preseason #1? I guess Turgeon is a good coach or recruiter.  Just a heads up for everyone out there.  Don't lend Geno Smith any money!

I read all the posts on here before giving my two cents worth. There seems to be quite a few people who have been having the same thoughts as me. Listen, I don't want to hurry Perriman back even one day. He's a much too promising receiver to bring back before he's Completely 100%. But, that doesn't mean that we can't be given the truth about his injury situation. First we heard it was just a knee bruise. Then I think I remember hearing something about a knee strain. Just what's really up with our 1st rounder and what's the honest time table expected for his return? It's not exactly like the regular season, when Harbaugh might not want to tip off the upcoming defense about who they need to prepare for. It's preseason, for Pete's sake. What's really going on?

OMG people please look up knee strain and recovery times...they all say in more or less words, REST!! How much rest depends on the person and genes. If it were in the season I really do believe Perriman would be playing. Harbs specifically said that he relays whatever info is given to him by the medical staff...yes initially he was said to be out a couple days, and now a couple of days has turned into a couple of weeks. The more rest the better, i could care less about him missing the 1st preseason game because in all likelihood he would only play a series or 2. Hell i would care if he missed the 2nd game, I would start to worry if he's not out there for the 3rd game which is when the starters play the most.

Just remember the farther you push the players when they already are on the edge of making an injury worse the more likely you will push them over that edge and make it more severe. Perriman getting over this knee thing now is better than it nagging him the entire season. I bet he could have still practiced the day he bruised his knee, I think they just do not want that to haunt him the rest of the season.

Been reading a lot of good 'press' (no pun intended) on Jimmy Smith. I hope he has a great season. Cannot believe that we could have lost him in the draft because of the freaking Bears.

Everyone should forget Perriman and hope this secondary steps up or it will not matter. Ravens have receivers healthy and ready to go.

Harbaugh already said hes just reporting what hes been told about Perriman. He said hes gonna get out of the business of injury reports cuz they are making him look bad.
