24 posts in this topic

Talk about Schaub now cause in 4 weeks no one will even know he is on team. That is unless Yanda sucker punches Flacco and puts him out for 3 momnths.

When a player sucker punches your starting QB, kind of tells you the organization doesn't have a standard, and fear of our coaching staff, and FO is what the Ravens make known to players if they act out.....That's just crazy, like that CB in Carolina mixing it up with Newton...That's the difference between a winning culture and losing ones....

"But Schaub has an explanation for the picks. He’s not in game mode, which means he’s attempting difficult throws he wouldn’t otherwise make."

Fortunately, he'll have four perfect occasions to prove that, as the pre-season games are coming. I guess he'll have to insert his game-mode disk then.

I've been having an ongoing conversation with another poster in a different thread about Schaub. Something to do with camp INT's don't mean anything. In that thread I've been pretty blunt about what I think about Schaub's abilities at this stage of his career. I think he's done. I hope he's not and that if we need him he can step up and do a very good job for us for however long we need him. He might be able to explain what was going on in camp. I can buy that he's probably forcing throws that he normally wouldn't in a game. But how do you explain all of 2013? He only had two games in which he threw more touchdowns than interceptions and those were the first two games of the season and the only two games the Texans won. Sure, Foster was out and the run attack was 20th in the league. But 20th is far away from 32nd and Case Keenum stepped up and posted better stats in his 8 starts; 9TD to 6INT compared to Schaub's 10TD to 14INT. Then Schaub gets traded to the Raiders and he's not even the 2nd string QB. The Raiders have been about as functional as a broken watch and I could understand them trying to go with the future and start Carr. But, Schaub wasn't even his backup. I don't know what Schaub is talking about off the field and whatever problems those were I hope his family is all healthy and whatever the issues were they are in the past. Apparently he was suffering from elbow tendinitis in Oakland per this report; but this report also says that his arm has lost whatever zip it had: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000479358/article/oakland-raiders-release-qb-matt-schaub

Schaub brings a lot experience to the table just like Marc Bulger when we signed him a fews year back. I'm hopeful that his experience can bring some wisdom to the team and perhaps add to our preparation on game days.

you have to look at the shaub situation like this, the RAVEN'S are smart to bring him in,he know's all the intricacie's in GARY KUBIAC'S offense that he's teaching to JOE,the raven's are useing him as a tutor for JOE and that's it.him and JOE hit it off and JOE say's he learning alot of the little thing's and yes we hope he doesn't take the field, but he's still way better suited to this offense than TYROD TAYLOR,which also was a pick machine.that's the FACT JACK.

Schawb is not a lesser QB than before.  He is a QB that needs to adapt to his recievers and TE's. Anyone who plays in Oakland,, had difficulties like Palmer and Prior for example. Carr had his moments too. He'll be alright.

You are refering to the broken jaw Geno Smith suffered in the Jets locker room. That was crazy. We all hope for Joe to stay consistent and healthy. That would be every Ravens fan mindset.

Well, he's our backup QB, for now, and I don't see any chance of that changing, so all we can do is hope that his excuse about not being in "game mode" has some truth to it. It IS plausible. But, that really doesn't address the lack of arm strength and accuracy that he's shown compared to when he was a successful QB. All I know is, I pray that Joe remains as durable as he's been and we don't have to rely on Schaub at all this season. Nevertheless, the preseason games should tell us a lot about whether his excuse holds any weight and, also, what we might expect should he actually have to take the field in a meaningful game. We can only hope that he has something left despite what he's shown so far.

For you younger Ravens fans---they said the same thing about Earl Morrall. And old number 15 was ready to go for the Baltimore Colts when the game was on the line. Either way, long live Johnny U.

One thing Matt sure made the secondary look good throwing those interceptions in practice. I wonder if they did that on purpose?

Come tommorow night we"ll see if his excuse holds any weight. I know that qbs make throws In practice that they wouldn't make in games - but I'm just not buyin it. He has been throwing pick 6 after pick 6. It's clearly become a mental thing, I'm just hoping he's able to shake it. One really good preseason game could make all the difference and really boost his confidence.

SHAUB was brought in for one thing, tutoring JOE in this offense and JOE say's he's learning the little thing's he need's to improve in the KUBIAK'S system, they didn't bring him here to play, but to be a guide.the RAVEN'S are smart for bringing him here,so lay off him, would you rather have the pick machine TYROD TAYLOR instead,he was good for 4-5 pick's per preseason,I didn't think so.

You mean like in Super Bowl III? It was Morrall who lost that one, not Unitas.
