2015 Preseason

can we talk very often about how bad jesse james has looked tonight? 

 

the steelers wanted maxx williams, we snatched him away with a trade. they panicked and took a 3rd round 5'9" cb, and then drafted a TE who is out here making HUGE drops left and right. 

 

this makes me smile.

Jessie James with two big drops.  One was a TD and the other was an INT.  So yeah they're really missing that Maxx Williams pick in the 2nd round right about now. 

 

I seem to recall a lot of talk that they wanted Golston in the 2nd all along, and got the TE the really wanted in James. Glad that worked out for them lol.

Man, some of you guys are rough. I hope when our rookies undoubtedly have their struggles in their first game that you don't throw them under the bus as quickly.

its the steelers, we will drag them through the mud over the slightest miscues, but after we beat them in the playoffs in their own stadium, and then swooped in and stole their TE in the draft, we are definitely gonna rub it in their faces when their newest TE is stinking it up lol

golson is not a 2nd round talent and if that was their top target then their gm needs to take a nap, i have never seen such a obvious case of saving face.

Yeah, you could tell it took them totally by surprise, or they wouldn't have taken the entire allotted time to pick Golston. I thought at the time, it looked like they moved their entire draft one round up as a result of us taking Williams.

Haha I know why it's happening but when our guys have some struggles in the preseason I know this board will self destruct.

Guys have to remember that it's their first game and you can bet that the jitters are high. I don't want to read people jumping to conclusions off of one preseason game. Not jumping on you, just getting ready for the doom and gloom that most of this board will portray on Thursday.

The first part is debatable but if Maxx Williams was still on the board, he would've almost certainly been their selection. Jesse James will have more opportunities down the road to put this performance behind him, but if today is as advertised, then our jumping could sting them for a while.

Exactly. I'm also glad to see how inept they are with Landry Jones given that he's their second option at QB. If they ever lose Ben Roethlisberger to injury, they could have a very tough time winning games.

Already happening, just take a look in RT and we have people saying the conditioning coach should be fired because we have guys getting injured. The second Perriman drops a pass, it is going to be a meltdown lol

All the more reason to enjoy the Steelers struggling, even if said delight is just as premature as the impending panic.

man, i remember flaccos first preseason game.. WOW. 

 

i screamed and yelled and cussed and thought to myself "here we go again, another decade of garbage qb play" 

 

first play, he took a snap under center, didnt take a drop back at all, i mean literally took the snap and stood there pump faking, and immediately got the ball stripped, worst single play by a qb ive ever seen, and look what he turned into... 

 

its still fun to make fun of the steelers, you know they'd be doing it to us if bud dupree was out there tearing up the field(which he wasnt)

Idk someone posted a bit ago listing all the Steelers injuries and they had it pretty bad, probably worse than us. Injuries happen all around the league and guys like Camp and Urban have had a lengthy history with injuries so it shouldn't be shocking to see them get hit. As for Perriman, my guess is that they are taking things cautiously with him but we will have to see as Harbs is all over the place when it comes to telling us about that sort of thing.

As for the Steelers, always fun watching them lose even if it is preseason, always cool seeing where some of the rookies perform as well like Diggs and Stingley. Wouldn't put too much stock in it though, didn't Torrey have an awful preseason in 2011? Shazier had a pretty good night as well.

Beat me to it. He's out at least a few weeks with a shoulder injury and he says that even he doesn't know when he'll be off the PUP. Until he returns, Jones is penciled in as the main reserve.

Whats funny is that I remember seeing several steelers fans saying James would be better than Maxx and that they wouldn't have picked Maxx if he fell to them.

The Steelers losing might be the worst thing for us. I believe teams learn more from a preseason loss than a win.

Losing Suisham would be a big loss for Pittsburgh, he was quietly very solid for them. I don't put too much faith in Jesse James being a horrible pick after one preseason game, I think all rookies will have their moments.

Got Boykin playing outside right now

That trade with the Eagles is a good move. I feel Boykin was worth a fifth round draft pick and they are going to need him this season.
