It's the time you put in now that makes you better when January and February comes around and that's why the Ravens are always in the mix at the end of the regular season.

This is why our players respond and mesh well, because we can expect them to handle any situation well with any amount of pressure at their most fatigued state. Steve Smith has been one of the best WRs in the NFL for the past 15 years because he "practices how he plays and plays how he practices". Being a Raven is pure heart and brotherhood.

I wish Urban didn't go down for the rest of the season (most likely scenario)... The Ravens will be putting him on the IR and probably going to try to find someone within the next week. I wish we knew how well Kapron Lewis-Moore has been playing. I'm good with our starters but I am afraid of how well the depth will perform.

Harbs can be a bit of a psycho on the practice field - premeditated mental torture. He creates adversity where there is none, so that when it happens in a game, it's no stress, that's just routine. I think as a player, I'd hate him on the practice field and love him in the locker room and during a game and any other time. What I mean is not dissing him, but highest possible praise. Just sad that Brent Urban won't face anything this year, apart from recovering asap.

I can think of only 1 thing which could possibly threaten my confidence in the 2015 Ravens...and that is a multitude of serious injuries. We need to practice hard but please stay healthy everyone. I know injuries are part of the game but we need to get through Training Camp relatively intact. Last year was a bitter pill and I don't want a ton of injuries to bite us in the backside cuz if we can stay healthy the Super Bowl is a realistic, achievable goal. Praying for a healthy roster. Amen.

Except, they can only put one guy on IR to start the season... so either him or Elam.

@trevorsteadman Well find some more depth you say, well Ozzie should pick up Red Bryant and Benard Pollard. Also another quality corner like maybe a trade.

Elam has a chance of coming back faster plus he has proven more than Urban. Urban has been consistently hurt. Even though I really want to see what Urban has to show he won't be able to play until likely week 13 or 14 and by then its near the end of the season and he has no room to grow. We know at least a little of what Elam can do and I have been hearing more positives from Elam this offseason. They may wait and try to get both on IR because I think the Ravens really want Dennis Pitta on that PUP list.

This just means that Carl Davis and Chris Canty have to pick up the slack and play more snaps. It sucks for Brent though. It really does.

Coach Harbaugh is a tough coach. It takes tough players to play for the Ravens. It's a formula that has worked very well. Other teams fear our toughness especially those patriots. The Ravens play them tougher than any other team.

you can put as many players as you want on IR.

only problem is that they still count against the cap.

there is however only 1 IR player you can designate for return.

I am in agreement with you. If they have to choose, they will go with Elam, because what you said is correct. That's the plan with Pitta if I remember. Except, as much as I wish his quick recovery, even if he does come back, I don't think it's going to be a long career for him. A hip dislocation is not like other injuries, the socket for his joint is damaged. Is there any other football player that has made a successful recovery after 2 hip dislocations?

Right, thanks for the explanation. In that case, still my guess is Elam to be designated for return.
