[News] Eisenberg: WR Competition Shifting From Jobs To Production

20 posts in this topic

Does anyone have the link to the article where Butler said he thinks the player he is most like is Boldin? It was either right before or right after last year's draft. He looked better than Aiken last year in camp. Is it just me, or does the receiving corps look totally different since Steve Smith Sr and Bobby Ingram got here? Different in a good way.

I honestly feel comfortable with Aiken taking the spot while Perriman develops. We also have others who can take snaps as well with Brown, Butler, Campanaro and possible Waller. It just amazes me how we didn't look like we had good depth but Ozzie drafts just two receivers and now we overflowing with talent. I love how hard all the receivers are working. Keep up the good work! Go Ravens.

This is what I found.

Just as long as the best 53 guys are on the roster and they fill out the practice squad with the rest of the best it's all good.

I think Kamar will be the number 2 and will continue to be that even when Breshad inevitably becomes the number 1 receiver when Steve Smith retires. Kamar reminds me a lot of Anquan Boldin and has a similar build to him. He also can work out of the slot as he did last year and produce. He seems to be developing chemistry with Flacco. Looks like offensively we will be on fire.

I think kamar will come on strong and evnetually perriman will be the number 2 down the line because seeing jeremy butler continue from last season before he got hurt his skill set is similar to steve smith sr and because of that he is more likely to replace him when steve retires

There are no similarities between Aiken and Anquan Boldin bro. If so then Kamar Aiken would be our #1 receiver. My opinion though.

Let's look at the positives. First, some other first-round receivers have far worse injuries than Perriman. He'll be back. Second, the Ravens have always been a run-first team and have three quality backs who can pound and catch the ball. Most important, the OL is outstanding. Run the ball, give Joe time, and he'll find the receiver downfield whoever it is.

"We have a good idea of who will win jobs."

John, easy with claims like this. I remember your last two years' 53-man roster predictions you made on this very website ONE DAY BEFORE the final cuts were made - and neither were perfect. How could "we have a good idea of who will win jobs" about a month in advance? Pretty impossible. I'd say even Harbaugh and Ozzie couldn't tell right now.

brown's and perriman injuries might be serious than they tell us, brown's back might a dislocated disc or something, i hope they're ready by week 1.

Sorry Bro but it's funny that Kamar himself has heard the comparisons to Anquan within the Ravens locker room since last year but I guess it's just the teams opinion though.

Terrance Williams was the #2 for Tony Romo... either way they both had 37 catches but Williams had 200 more yards and double the touchdowns. convenient he failed to mention that production.

Well Kamar will open as the starter this year and Perriman will be brought along this year with Camp in the slot if the TE position struggles we may see a three receiver set often Butler is intriguing to me he could be a good slot but Camp is there so he'll be fighting Kamar and Camp for snaps I just like to see how the receiver corps shakes out this year Trestman is gonna have his hands full and so will Flacco

Aiken and Butler are having a good camp, but I can't wait to see them in preseason games.

Agreed, I got a feeling both will do good this year with their opportunities

A dependable #2 takes the pressure and double team off SSS. I think Aiken can do it. Usually rookies have trouble filling that role, but I think Perriman, when he gets healthy, can do it. This looks like the best WR group the Ravens ever had. From #1 - #6.

This Thursday..   Perhaps they will start one series .   First pre season means only one month to the real deal
