[News] Ravens Release First 2015 Depth Chart

38 posts in this topic

Looking like Camp may be holding onto his roster spot. At least, I'm feeling that way after what I've been reading and seeing this depth chart. I'm super glad about that and am still praying that he can continue to avoid another injury, which would be a Huge set back and cloud things considerably. I am just So impressed with this kid's abilities. He has So much potential to be an exceptional slot receiver. Stay healthy, Camp. I really want to see you on this team and getting your chances to show just how effective you can be.

Yes Sir Kamar Aiken is my Fav Ravens player!! Gonna be a big year for him. Wow Tyson played well last year but he is down to 3rd String. I think the Batlle for TE is going to be tight. Yo Im hyped for this season cant wait til August 13th

Interesting to see Zach Orr behind Arthur Brown and Alber McClellen. I think by the start of the regular season, he will leapfrog both.

Congratulations to Kamar Aiken, after going undrafted and then bounced around on a few practice squads, he is now listed as a starting WR. He worked hard and never gave up, so good for him.

Definitely need some more names in the secondary. The Center position looks questionable as well im not sure Zuttah is the guy at this point.

Cheers to Kamar Aiken who hustled so hard he got in a good spot. I liked to see him play last year and be solid and it's good to see him appreciated. Hope he keeps it up. Steve Smith Sr is a lock, that's for sure. However, I find Marlon Brown and Jeremy Butler quite intriguing and would like to see them play. Marlon had a solid year 1. Obviously, with SSS joining last year, he took a step back, but I would like to see more of him. Camp is keeping a roster spot. No idea how he is as a receiver, but if he's fielding punts and possibly kick-off returns, he's staying.

Not how you start but how you finish, when Marlon made the team, he did it with his play in the last 2 pre-season games, he just needs to get healthy...But a great problem to have, so many solid WR, can keep them fresh, and wear down the DB'S

That's a lot of big names on defense... If two guys (i.e. Brent Urban, Kapron Lewis-Moore) show up as big as they flashed last year it might be hard for offenses to do ANYTHING against that group... Never thought I'd say this, but we just traded away Haloti Ngata and got better.

It would be nice if Waller could step it up maybe in the preseason and really put that size and speed combo of his on display. Would suck to see a guy with his potential go only due to the fact he may actually realize it eventually somewhere else....

Love that Aiken's claimed his spot. He's sure earned it the hard way.

And love love LOVE that, including Gilmore, our offensive line is intact from last year. Those guys can only get better.

Aiken always looked like a complete receiver to me, hope to see him doing his dance in the end zone a lot more this season. I hope Gilmore can get it done at TE, cos' Flacco sure likes to go to his TE. Pitta was a Flacco favorite, and towards the end of last season he was going to Owen Daniels a lot for the tough catches.

That either says he has gotten a whole lot better or everyone around him sucks.

As usual there were no surprises.Everyone is exactly where I expected them to be.I'm hoping Perriman decisively snatches that starting job away from Aiken when he returns though.

Please, Ravens staff writers, no more heartaches! When you have an article with an image showing half our receiving corps, don't start the title with "Ravens release..." because it's disturbing ;)

While it comes as no surprise at the moment, Aiken has got to feel good about being positioned at the #2 slot. To have risen above the crowded field at that slot is an accomplishment.

Perhaps he is who Harbaugh was referring when he said - always strive to the next level. You're doing good, but don't let that get in the way of being great.

Seems ugly and odd to see Dennis Pitta 6th on the depth chart at TE... In my opinion, he is one, two, or retired.

I was hoping to see him at the top of the chart, even if he's on the PUP.

Will Hill and Benard Pollard would be awesome. Will Hill FS and Benard Pollard SS on running situations. Will Hill SS and Kendrick Lewis FS on passing situations. What do you guys think?

Let's hold the phone on congratulating people on making it as a starter. This is a PRE SEASON depth chart that isn't even being released by the coaching staff. I think we all know who most of the starters will be if they are healthy. There really are only a few roster spots that might be in question. With Matt Elam going down, SS is virtually a lock for Will Hill. I don't even think there is a competition for 1st TE; it will be Crockett Gilmore. I think the guy lining up on the other side of Steve Smith Sr. is also already determined if that guy is 100% healthy. He's a first round pick, you really think he's gonna sit on the bench behind some undrafted free agents from a couple seasons ago? This is a motivation ploy. The only things really up in the air are the order of the depth charts and the special teams returners.

Hen,

While I like the idea of have two, strong, physical safeties roaming around the secondary there are a couple of issues. Hill is shaky on coverage and Pollard never was good at it. In today's NFL you really can't get away with trying to hide anyone. If an opposing team sees that Hill and Pollard are both in the deep secondary they will check out of a run if that is what they have called and try something deep down the middle or to test those guys in coverage. We need to emlpoy the set up they have. SS is the run support hammer hitter, and the FS is like having a nickel back in the game for over the top help in coverage.

They have Elam listed as the third SS even though he's on IR. Like I said, this is a pre-season depth chart that wasn't made by the coaching staff.

@EdTheMythicalOne Thank You for your reply :-) After I reading your reply I agree with you. Teams could just audible the run and make it a passing play. However they shouldn't dare throwing it short if those two play but teams throwing the ball deep will be a concerning. But Will Hill coverage is decent so it's not really a bad idea around the Ravens territory or teams goal line situations because they don't have to worry about beaten deep.

You probably wish Pollard was still here and that combo would be interesting.  KLewis has experience to be involved with running and pass situations.
