[News] The Caw: 'Is Joe Flacco Elite' Trumps Republican Debates

40 posts in this topic

It is one thing for a street bum to ask the question in jest and to arouse curiosity and infamy, but it is a totally different thing for the Baltimore Ravens official website to perpetuate this absurdity! If Flacco weren't elite, we wouldn't have the second SB win!

He doesn't have to be elite. He just has to win football games which he does very well. If he plays his whole career the way he has so far. He may be the winningest quarterback not in the hall of fame. Then the question will be should he be in the hall of fame? He's good enough for me. I don't want any other quarterback.

I know the question is getting old but you have to admit that was a pretty funny sign to have at a Presidential Debate.

The joke is played out generally, but a video bomb here is pretty hilarious I have to admit. Lighten up people.

no kiddin dude- ppl need to chill out- thought i was the only one who saw the humor in this. Its not about whether hes actuallly elite or not- its about the question itself being shown in the crowd of a politcal debate when its somethin totally unrelated but also "debateable" ....for those who need everything broken down for them.

Not only is Joe a Elete QB.

He is an Elete QB.....

He is also an elite QB ;-)

and the rest of the league will find that out this season

Team wins is the goal and the concern. Joe is the best QB for this team, that's what matters. Having an elite organization is far more important than any individual player.

Joe isn't elite, he's better than elite quarterbacks and he's proven so time and time again. In January, Joe is the most interesting man in the world meets Chuck Norris.

I heard he once won a Superbowl just by watching it on TV.

He once threw a ball from one end zone at the Bank and it landed in the other end zone... in the opponent's stadium.

I know, I tend to focus on the the stupid things but the thing that gets me is, this guy had plenty of time before he made that sign, to check his spelling. Doesn't he have any friends that can spell? I don't know, if I thought I was going to get my sign on TV for millions of people to see, especially a presidential debate, I'd try a little harder to give my 3rd grade teacher a little more credit

She must be cowering in a corner somewhere. :-)

I have to admit, it WAS funny though.

I am a perfectionist and avid reader.  I used to really get on my high horse when I saw grammatical and punctuational errors in written material.  Even some of the best authors do it.  But as the Age of the Internet has progressed, I've come to realize that most people just don't care.  They want to communicate a thought, and the delivery medium is a means to an end.

Or, maybe the guy is just dyslexic.  In any case, asking someone to proof your material takes patience, and in this age of convenience stores and fast food, patience is indeed a virtue.

I guess I'm back on my high horse.

I hear ya Bat-mite. I ride that horse a bit myself sometimes but I usually just suffer these things in silence but that sign tells me that, not only did he flunk school but so did all his friends. Not one person in is group even noticed? I'm just assuming he's a browns fan :-)

You guys are right.... The spelling is ATROCIOUS!... But ya' gotta admit... It's funny. And, I believe, that all of that, makes it even funnier.

As for the grammatical issues with his poster, this did take place in Cleveland!!! But over all very funny considering the venue "a debate".

Apparently this guy does this all the time and part of his act that adds to the joke is that he has poor spelling and grammar

After reading some of the comments people post, I find it hard to believe that people in here are complaining about someone's grammar and spelling? The same commenters who use words like "ya" for you and "is" for his or "browns" instead of Browns are criticizing this guy. Some people's glass houses must have all the windows broken out.

Hey, I'm an English major...  and I use Y'all and such in my blog posts.  It's much more casual here.  But if I were on National Television, and wanted to drive my point home, I would make sure my poster was accurate; if not only just for my own satisfaction.  I am a firm believer that "misspellings"???  They reduce credibility.

I hear Flacco sucks as a Quaterback but his Quarterback skills are awesome. Lucky for us we only need him to be a Quarterback. He can be a Quaterback on his own time and I won't judge.

Obvious sarcasm here and I found that sign to be hilarious. And for the record, who cares if he's thought to be elite or not. Labels don't buy Superbowl rings.

Joe Flacco is our QB. I'm ecstatic about that and wouldn't want Anybody else. And I don't care what anybody wants to call him because the Only thing that matters is that he's a WINNER. Just ask the other 31 teams in the league and see how many of them would, gladly, trade their QB for ours. I'm quite sure that the Vast majority of them would make that trade in an Instant.

I think all of us have this love for flacco, just as if he is a family member. Because we all know that it wasn't a smooth road to get to where we are now. Heck, we might still see him make some dumb passes but in the end I love the guy as our QB and as a Raven.
