[News] Lardarius Webb Brutally Honest About Being Targeted

16 posts in this topic

It sounds like Webby is going to make sure he is ready for the challenge. I remember, before his injuries, when he was a shutdown corner. He was an absolute beast. His knees should be good to go this season, so I am looking forward to a bounce back year.

I really do hope Webb and Smith can stay healthy all season long. He's absolutely right and I said the same thing earlier this season. If they are both on the field this year the secondary is going to be massively improved over last season when we had back up safeties trying to play corner. Add in Will Hill at SS with a year of the playbook under his belt and a rangy FS like Lewis and I think this secondary can be pretty solid. With a front 7 like we have, that's all we really need. Too many times last season our team was beaten deep on silly plays that should have never happened. I'm glad the team went out and addressed this area this off season with the additions of Lewis and Arrington.

"This year he seems like he's back. He's confident, he's healthy and I'm excited for him because he's a really good player."

Hearing this from Joe means something, and if our CB's (and the rest of our D) can stay healthy, they are in for a cracker of a year. A 2000-like season isn't out of the question.

Ya, our corners are going to determine the type of ball we play. Webb needs a good year not just for the team but for himself. The years are ticking by and so few get to go out the right way. I hope he can become the guy we know he can be and eventually leave this game with his health in tact and a ring or two to show off for all the hard work and dedication he had to get them. One of my favorite player but also one that I hold my breath with.

If webby can get back to his old self then we will go a long way. Jimmy needs to stay healthy as well. Our secondary with that pass rush puts us in the top five in defense. We finally have a offense to go with a devastating defense. The only thing that can stop our run is injuries.

Hill and Lewis tandem at Safety should be a good one, but I'm gonna be patient and see how they gel on the field.

Problem is Hill is one more incident away and he is gone for a year. This secondary is a mess and there is no strong foundation.

I'm still concerned about the overall health situation of our secondary, but I trust that if Webb is fine right now and doesn't get injured, he'll be solid. When he got back on the field last year, first off he was sloppy, but as the season progressed, he got better and better, more confident and tackled harder so if he can keep it up, I'm not worried.

Perriman you better come back quick if you want to start opposite Smith b/c Aiken is ready and hes got no problem taking your spot. Congrats to all the players who put in that work to put themselves in position to be higher on the depth chart and have a bigger role, keep it up though b/c its not official.
