Can Perriman be our first 1000 yard rookie receiver?

Jimmys not sorry(I shoulda wrote that hes the exception)but hes not playing up to the contract we've given him.Webb since his last injury hasn't been the same and is no longer a #2 cb in the league and has regressed largely.I agree that free safety play shores the mediocre cb play but it can only do so much. We've tried to address pass rush but many of our picks haven't been hitting.Arthur Brown,John Simon,Upshaw,,Lewis Moore,Za darius Smith, Jernigan,Williams,Urban etc. Those are alot of talented guys and we still haven't seen a great pass rush. Not saying they have to be ray lewis but with the exception of Jerningan and Williams, non of those guys have shown anything of what they were projected to be.Simon isn't even on the team anymore.Lewis Moore is just getting on the field for the first time in 2 years.Urban's following the same path.I understand injuries happen but I'm just showing what we've invested in and how they've worked out so far. What i'm saying is that we should start investing the same resources and have the same urgency on other parts of the team.

these guys are DT's and 3-4DE's for the most part, not pass rushers. we need a bonafide 3-4OLB who can rush, a DT can only do so much.

jimmy is coming off of a lisfranc. that injury pretty much has a 100% chance to result in a very down year the following season, it always happens, players recover from it, but they dont hit 100% right away, its a tried and true fact, rick wagner is dealing with the same issue, he went from a top 2 RT to a bottom 2 RT in one offseason, that doesnt happen to both jimmy and wagner just by chance. and once again, safeties are blowing assignments much more frequently than cb's are getting burned, the safeties blow their assignment on what seems like every freaking play, we have seen some solid play from webb this year compared to the 2 years prior, the difference is the steady decline of our pass rush and the inability to find continuity or competence at FS.

What I'm trying to get at is actually really simple-

I honestly just wouldn't mess with a PCL injury and risk further injuring or even tearing it. Why is he slow healing? Hell if I know, but I do know that if the doctors think there's a chance that this could go further and fully tear, I don't want him out there given the severity of PCL tears and the little research there is.

I won't speculate on why it's taking so long or what even really happened within his knee because the Ravens have been tight to the vest, but I'd rather have it take a while to heal in a season where the Ravens won't do much than have him tear it and miss more significant time next season when i expect the Ravens to do far more.

I definitely agree that it's best for him to get healthy, but I have to admit I'm concerned regarding his ability to stay healthy, which I admit is a bit ridiculous since he hasn't really dealt with injuries at all until this point. The problem for me is that this injury typically heals decently quick and it shouldn't be taking this long if the reports are accurate. This makes me question either his toughness or his ability to stay healthy and fight through injury, although it's certainly possible this is just a freak injury the likes of which we've never seen, which would be the Ravens' luck, I suppose.

I don't see how even a PCL sprain, even if supposedly less common or less researched than a torn ACL is supposed to keep you out for this long. Andre Ellington who is made of Aerogel came back from a sprained PCL in a matter of 2 weeks, Eric Decker also suffered a PCL sprain and missed one game. Both were grade 1 sprains which is what Perriman suffered. Also, can someone tell me when they've last heard a player miss a whole season due to a PCL sprain?

As far as I'm concerned, Breshad has a grade 1 PCL sprain and that's all we know. I'm going by what the surgeon said, forget speculation. The Doc said he doesn't have a new injury after preforming the scope and if that's the case then I personally don't know what the hell is up with this injury. It is what it is, the guy has a problem, I have no idea why this man heals so slowly but clearly he's got a dilemma to figure out.

This is the same injury he suffered as of July 30th, according to the Doc, he didn't suffer no knew injury and its what they thought it was and its that his PCL is healing ridiculously slowly.

The scope was done on Oct 1st with the stem cell ejection with an expected recovery time of 2-3 weeks, its been a month now and still nothing. IMO it looks like he isn't coming back any time soon. I hate he makes me eat my words but I've pretty much nearly lost all hope he'll even play this season. I hope he proves me wrong tho.

At this point, I just want updates. I want ANYTJING that will provide some news, but the Ravens refuse to give it. At some point, he's going to have to face the media

I think it was week 2 against the Raiders but either way it would be nice to get some evaluation to see where we might draft another WR

It was the home game against the bengals during warmups.

Honestly, after having to read about how Perriman is getting closer for over a month early in the season/preseason, I'm not in a hurry to read about him. Let him recover slowly and quietly; we can't do anything about it anyway. If you don't hear any news, then just assume his condition is the same.

Suits up week 17 and gets 999 yards, ah rats! So close.

I shudder to think about how many yards the secondary will have given up that week.

First thing I check for on my phone in the morning is a notification telling me that BP is practicing. I would love to see him on the field against Jax as an occasional deep threat just to get him up to game speed.

Ozzie should never draft WRs early in the draft again.

Give me some freaking news

Normally I am against my team tossing money at Free Agents but when it comes to WRs I think the Ravens should stick to Free Agency to fill that role lol.

Pleaseeeee practice this week and be a situational deep threat against Jax

I just want ONE WR who can grow with Flacco and is not on the downside of their career. Steve Smith is amazing but he is not 29. I hope he can be the guy.

I'm NOT confident with Perriman as the #1 going into next season. I go Treadwell in the first round or find a way to sign Marvin Jones is something.

This is getting ridiculous. Can we just Draft Treadwell or Boyd and move on?

How does the coach not now the status of a player?

Might be his way of saying "I don't care about you until you're healthy". He did seem irritated by this saga in couple other pressers he had earlier in the season.

"Clock is ticking"? What's that supposed to mean?

I think it had to do with whether or not he would see the field this year.  After he said it he mentioned that Perrriman would need 4 weeks on the practice field to get into football shape.

Which then leads me to believe they expect him to start practicing by early next week, if they want him to get four games in.

If not, IR maybe? What a weird series of events.

Perriman is not ready and neither would I expect him to be at this point.

I asked this before.

Does anyone know what the determining factor is for Perriman to play?

Is it an actual medical analysis? Or is it simply a pain / discomfort thing?
