[News] Late For Work 8/6: Joe Flacco Reveals First Impressions Of Breshad Perriman

42 posts in this topic

That absolutely was a classy move for Harbaugh to ask Billick to address the team. Says a lot about both men, to not get tangled up in egos or past history. Seems like it meant a lot to Billick, as well as being an inspiring message for Harbaugh and the team. Seeing this makes me proud to be a Ravens fan.

That's one helluva speech by Brian Billick and I really appreciate Harbs from giving him the opportunity to share it with the team. Recognizing the sacrifice of others around you makes you really appreciate what you have and gives you the extra teem feels. Also, it allows those who do the trenchwork to be recognized for it, without turning bitter and demotivated. I have played offensive line for a while and it makes a world of a difference if you're overlooked when things are good and called out only when you mess up or when your offense makes a terrific play and the QB goes to you and tells you "Girls, that was awesome, thanks for having my back!" This goes for every position, every role on the team. Feeling appreciated goes a long way. Make sure your teammates feel that.

I'm sure Perriman is just a scare, but better to keep him off the field while he heals now, rather than pushing it and having him injured during the season.

Perriman is still MIA. Must be 1 hell of a bruise and I hope that there is nothing more serious going on with that knee. Hoping we are just playing it smart and safe, being ultra conservative to not put him at any further risk. Just hope that Perrriman is healthy enough to return soon to get in the needed reps. Fingers crossed. Look forward to seeing Perriman become an integral  and dynamic part of  this offense.

We've got key weapons this year that will help us keep teams guessing. There are so many plays we could do well. We can run the ball with Forsett and Taliferro but if you crowd the line of scrimmage, we can play action pass and if you snooze on that, we can bomb it deep. If we happen to have a few miscues and our drive stalls, as long as we get to the 50yd line, we can get 3!

As always, injuries and such could change the dynamics but with our depth at a lot of positions, we should be able to hang through the season. I predict we get one more game this year and end with an 11-5 record.

Awesome speech by Billick. It was good to see him out there. I hope the players are reminded of this speech when the season is ongoing and we face adversity.

Billick really should be in the ring of honor. I like how he is still on good terms with the team and harbaugh. Harbs may ultimately be the better coach, but billick got us our first lombardi and helped shape the identity of this team. Once a raven, always a raven.

How serious is Marlon's injury? First I've heard of it....

As I remember, Harbaugh said a couple of days ago that it was MRI'ed and it showed nothing serious.

Did I hear that correctly? Both Jaime Dukes and Heath Evans giving some props to the Ravens? Is this the 7th sign?

Billick gave us a motivational speech that would gives us an extra boost this year. I got a good feeling we will be in the Super Bowl this year and winning it. I love this team so much. Play Like A Raven Guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Juice is one of the best special team players on the team and he is a great run blocker who also has good hands. There is no way he gets cut. Just because Trestman hasn't used him much yet doesn't mean he won't start to be used more. He is a good reason why the offensive line played well last season and also why Forsett averaged 5 yards a carry.

Perriman is a huge concern as the Ravens have put many eggs in that basket. We will know in a day or 2. Here's hoping for the best.

Didnt say cut. Its an obsolete position and even though Zo lost a few pounds he could very easily transition into that role.

Wow! I love it when Jamie Dukes and Heath can't criticize the Baltimore Ravens and have to begrudgingly acknowledge how good we are. I know how hard it is for them to do that, and the pain they must have felt that they had to talk about the Ravens without criticism, but hey they understand they need to adapt or be gone!

@YYZ26 Did you heard that on NFL Network or something?

It's the last video at the bottom of this article.

Juice is a versitile player that can help Joe start to get the flow when they begin the game on offense on the getco (don't know if I spelled that correctly). Dumping to Juice for a 5 yard gains would give Joe confidence and easy completions. Ex: When Joe dump the ball to Leach at the beginning of the Super Bowl it set the tone for Joe the rest of the game. Juice can be the same type a player for Joe. Juice kinda reminds me of Kuhn for some reason. :-)

Perriman is a stud and I bet he will be starting on the opposite side of Steve Smith. With his speed I see a lot of yards after the catch. I know it is early to say but I think Perriman will get 1100 yards and 4 TDs. I see Steve Smith on the opposite side getting 1000 yards and 7 TDs. I see most the touchdowns this next season coming from Forsett and the tight ends.

Have to use "DECEPTION" alot to get one on one's these days! The Ravens were good at it with Torrey and Jacoby but after the Super Bowl it seems that they got away from it making it easier for secondaries to defend! I'm jus sayin

Why would you want to "transition" Zo to a position when he is much better in the role he plays.  Then you would lose the better players in 2 position.  Why mess with what is working. The position is obsolete in some offenses that have phased it out, it is not obsolete in our offense though. "Juice" has developed into one of the better blocking backs in the league, is a great pass catcher and is versatile enough if we lose a tight end or two he can fill in.  Zo looks to get a lot of carries as a running back and is also developing his skills in the pass catching arena and you help my argument by saying he has lost weight.  That makes no sense at all which is why I defer roster decisions to Ozzie.

i really hope we become a better screen team...cuz too often we get beat by screens but can never really execute one. we need to study how denver always gets a big play from a WR screen and study how GB/NO get big plays from RB screens. Forsett could really do some damage.

I have faith we can win the SuperBowl this year. Vegas had them 20 to 1 last month to win it and it was good enough for me to put my last $200 on them. Wish us luck! Go Ravens!

I wouldn't give Zo that much praise at this point he hasn't actually produced entirely that much. Fumbling in the national spotlight and failing on several occasions to gain inches on third and nothing are what stands out to me of his season. I think our expectations and hopes exceed what he has shown in his limited action at the position. Juice has also turned the ball over himself as well on more than one occasion and that trait is often not easily remedied.

We have the players who could run effective screens but for some reason we always give it away that were going to run one. We need to find out what "read" the other teams use to figure it out and fix it.

I hate it for Juice.  He's one of the fan favorites and he's pretty effective in open space.   If Trestman looked at his plays from last year, I don't see why he would limit his role this year.
