John Harbaugh

Is it me or does John Harbaugh seem fired up this year?

Ever since the beginning of TC I've noticed a slight change of attitude and/or coaching style that I haven't seen during past seasons. Granted, maybe I missed the Kevin Byrne article from last year at the opening, but I can tell he, Oz, and Bisciotti are going to work.

Call me crazy, but John just sounds like last year may have left a small chip on his shoulder with how things ended...even some of the players mentioning how this team won't be the same as last year. Either way I have complete trust in John for putting the best and baddest team out there regardless.

Could be, and he has another year's experience under his belt. I think when it's all said and and done Harb's will be known as one of the best.

Harbs, Ozzie and Staff and Bisciotti are an amazing team.

Probably because he's still ticked off with the way we lost to the Pats. Can't read his mind, but I'm sure he's thinking we would beat the Colts in the AFC Championship. Whether if we would have beaten the Seahawks in the Superb Owl is something else to debate.

i think steve, ozzie, and harbs are a truly elite trio of organizational leaders, i think they go down in history as one of the absolute best trios, and i think when its all said and done harbaugh is a very long tenured, and future hall of fame head coach, i think over the next few years we really start to see him cement his legacy as one of the greats, its almost like hes beginning to break through what we thought was his ceiling, of course this is all predictions but this is just how i see it playing out.

Exactly what I'm talking about. I think he is really starting to come into his own and building a lot more confidence so we see his personality come through more and more each year

I have to think that if he's more fired up this year its because:

1) We made the playoff yet again despite the secndary being held together with duct tape and bailing twine.

2) We lost a close and strange playoff game against a team with questionable ethics which would put a chip on Mother Theresa's shoulder

3) He probably believes (as I do) that it the Ravens had beaten the Pats, they go on to roll over the Colts, and beat the Seahawks in the SB. I really, really think that's what would've happened despite everything else.

4) The team is better on paper this year despite the reliance on some rookies and second year men.  This is a team that has built a ton of respect and looking over the schedule could win the division with a 12-4 record (+/-1)

There's a lot to be excitrd about.  Now if we can only keep the injuriies to a minimum...

I'm surprised you didn't see my post because I said basically the same thing. Great minds think alike!

If you look around the league, we really do have one of the best management teams in the NFL. kinda spoiled really.    lol

Harbs always has a bit of an edge to him but he seems extra testy this year. I like it (as long as he keeps that testiness away from the challenge flag).

I saw the videos this offseason but just thought it was business as usual for him. Could be wrong though, and we could be in for something special this season.

It annoys me when he takes needless risks going for two (though I guess I can understand wanting to put future opponents on edge) and he bottles a timeout we need for later, but it feels like the best coaches in the world (in all sports) are the ones who can relate to their players and Harbaugh's as good as anyone in that regard.

I saw a pic of him taking to Pagano earlier and had the same exact thought. He's definitely built something special here so far.

Hate the fact that we can't have a drama free offseason. Now our front offices and coaches are dealing with answering questions about deflategate and if we said something to the Colts.

I like that Harbaugh has a tendency to be aggressive with play calling such as going for two. Too many coaches coach scared or coach not to loose. That's not harbaugh.

Yea I sense the same thing.. He seems different this year and it may be because this team has a legit chance of being his best/deepest team he's had at Baltimore

Really just need a few guys to stay healthy and one WR to step up or Pitta back and this is easily the best Ravens team in years

Also, after Ray left, it really became his team. No longer questioned about who ran things, or the leader. The truth is, it seems like since 13, we've started to see more and more of the real Harbs. He does seem to have a chip on his shoulder though about how last year ended and the returning players should too.

When you have the second best O-line in the NFL and prolly having the best back up offensive tackles in the league, anybody would be excited about it, even Bayless Ravens hater excited about it too.  Not only that, we have best front 7 defensive players, best duo MLBs and OLBs, and elite corners.  *holler* mind your own business, injury plague......

Harbs is starting to feel his legacy has begun and will go down to one of the best coaches in NFL history.  He knows his players well and like someone said he can relate to his own players.

Fans and I are excited to witness the historic moments.......

Impossible not to be a little fired up with the way things ended last year. It was almost as bad as 2011, and we saw how that worked out the next year. I'll bet Harbs is making the same connection.

I suspect there's more to what the Pats did "behind the scenes" in both last year's and the 2011 playoff loss, some sort of shenanigans with the play clock was it? So, Harbs may know, or at least believe, more than what's been publicly revealed. Because he does seem to be a man on a mission this year.

Or it could be he's just tired of losing in such heartbreaking fashion in every Ravens' playoff loss since 2010's.

I think its Trestman in place of Kubiak and the playoff experiences we had in 014.   Without Kubiak that could have been a huge void. I suspect Trestman is on the same page as Harb.
