I admit prejudice here. I hate Ravens fans. Every last one of them. It's like a bunch of whingeing poms crammed into a city to follow a football team of criminals and over-hyped wannabe's.

And I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that respect.

I'm sure all good-standing members of this site will attempt to follow the forum rules and keep the smack to the smack forum, but you guys all suck so much, it's really, really hard.

Good. I'm glad a Titans fan said it.

If the outcome blows up in that fan's face, then that's just another example as to why we Ravens fans should try not to jinx our own team, even if you're not the superstitious type.

Again, plenty of examples from this past Dolphins game to support that. You've all seen it.

We can talk trash and gloat all we want if the Ravens win the Super Bowl this year. But until then, consider this team to have accomplished nothing thus far; the playoffs are a brand new season, and there's still great things yet to be done.

I totally agree. I don't talk trash. I haven't really done it much since 2006. Let's stay humble and hope for the best on Saturday.

I did a lot of trash-talking in 2006 when we were headed for the playoffs. Look how that ended up for us. That's how my superstitions about smack talk started...

Haha me too. I talked a ton of trash in 2006. I thought for sure we had the Colts beat. But then we experienced one of the most heartbreaking losses in our franchise's history. No more trash talk for me.

I too was pretty confident with our chance with that 06 team, which I think had all the pieces to win it all. Sigh, we all know how that turned out. The humble, one game at a time approach seems to be the best way to look at it. I don't take anything for granted in an any given Sunday league.

Well its not fair to judge all Titans fans based on a few. There are a lot of fans on our forum that can't spell and spew out nonsense all day. I am sure you all have your fair share of those as well. It should be a great game and anyone that thinks their team is going to dominate hasn't watched enough football this year. They will have similar game plans, play safe on O and create turnovers on D. I won't go as far as to wish you luck but I will say the Ravens didn't get this far by luck and neither did we.

The 2006 playoffs left me with a resounding fear of Peyton Manning that continues to haunt me. And we have to play him next year since the Titans won the AFC South... sigh. Can we please have a completely healthy secondary one of these times?

More power to the poster of that quote. He hates every single one of us. Good attitude. Best of luck to him and his family.

Trash Talking is an Art and if you know how to do it properly it's very effective. I guarantee you can't see me in a game of Madden bcuz I will literally pick apart your game and your mind and just completely DOMINATE you! The worse is when I'm laying a beat down on my best friend and I'm completely silent. I smack talk him so much that when I give him the silent treatment he starts to get really nervous and it seems I get into his head even more . Sad thing is he knows he can't do anything about it and yet he still tries (in a failing attempt) to maintain his dignity. hahaha God I love Madden!

But yeah just from a competitor standpoint I respect a good trash talker. If you start taking it personally that's when it gets taken to another level and then you start to miss the point in the whole thing. I'm the king of trash talk in a game of 50 and really trash talking is almost as fun as the game itself (by the way I hold several championships on my street LOL). The key tho, is backing it up. If you can't do that then just give up and stick to the sidelines.

Remember, Trash Talk is only offensive if you let it be.

When the trash talk gets to the point of broad generalizations like everyone in Maryland are crack heads and criminals, that does tend to bother me. Of course I won't lose any sleep over someone's opinion. The I'll "cream you, your nothing" talk isn't bothersome.

It seems like these ****** have a deep hatred for the ravens. Probably still pissed off about how the ravens kicked the titans ****** in the playoffs years ago.

But see the great thing about trash talking is you get the chance to shut someone up. Nothing is more satisfying (well almost nothing) then imposing your will on somebody else. For example: shutting up a person who yaps nonstop when you slamdunk the ball in his face for the game winning point, your nutz land on his on his chin, and you get that 2-3 second window, while hanging from the rim, to look down at him with that look..."you were saying??" ahahaha it's a great feeling. The look on their face is priceless. That's why I love sports.

Now there are certain lines you can't cross like "your mother" or "your girl" but other than that the sky's the limit. The rule of thumb is classy trash talk is usually the best trash talk. Like when Jordon tells you he's gonna drain it in your face and there's nothing you can do about it and then he does it. Or when Kobe says you can't stop me I'm the best that ever played and then he crosses your ankles, drives down the lane, and slams it on 3 of your closest teammates. Yeah, that's priceless stuff.

Our team talks more trash than anyone in the NFL. We have a bunch of Canes, it is expected. I am not sure being humble means anything. This is a result determined sport. Our 2000 team was certainly not humble and talked a ton of trash. All that matters is they produce.

If you are a loser like a Terrel Owens you should keep your mouth shut, but if you can back it up, talk all you want.

See, there's a difference, though. We, as fans, can't back up our words because we don't play the games. But when it comes to things like playing Madden against somebody or playing a pickup b-ball game or anything where there's direct competition and direct influence, then yes, we can back up our words.

Though it's true that we don't directly determine the outcome on the field, however, I still believe in karma, which is why I don't trash-talk and urge other fans to do the same. Sort of like a chain reaction type dealy. But, I really don't care, to be honest; to each their own, and we can all make our own decisions.

Either way, at the end of the day, it's about promoting good sportsmanship, both as athletes and as fans. Good sportsmanship breeds good people. For every kid that learns how to be respectful as a competitor, that's another decent human being and good citizen being molded.

A lot of Cowboy fans... I know a few, like my father, that are pretty good... Then again I also know a few Steeler fans that are pretty good.

Of course, there are always those atrocious Ravens fans. :P

lol. I think the reason why Titans fans dislike Ravens fans, other than the old AFC Central rivalry, is because the Titans are in a division where the division title had previously been locked down by the Colts for years, whereas the Ravens have been on-and-off with the Steelers every couple years or so for the AFC North title.

Though I won't go so far as to call it jealousy, I think there's a bit of resentment there. Throw in the fact that a few of their beloved former Titans (Steve McNair, Derrick Mason, Samari Rolle, and Lorenzo Neal) had joined the Ravens after leaving Tennessee at one point or another, and you've got a bit more to add to that resentment.

This is a Titan fans view of it. Its actually pretty good. Its from the thread i started over there.

Quote:Originally Posted by bmore187 I remember the old AFC Central days and our rivalry but i still dont HATE or even dislike the Titans. That playoff loss in 03 hurt for a while tho. Now the Steelers , Colts, and Cowboys, I HATE

no, i totally understand your point. It's sort of how I feel about Jacksonville. Yeah, it's a rivalry, but I don't hate them. They despise us for what we did to them in the 1999 regular season and playoffs (all 3 of their losses that season/regular season wore at the hands of the Titans). They won the AFC Central, were favored to win the SB, made a crappy rap song about it, and then we stole their candy. No matter what happens after that, they will always despise us for that....

...fast forward 1 year, the Titans are now the big kid on the block... touting a 1 year+ undefeated record in our brand new stadium and the first team to knock us off that perch (the hated Ravens)... but no worries, we just continue to blast our way through the regular season, to a 13-3 record, and #1 seed in the playoffs, and homefield advantage.... the SB is a LOCK!!! The only real threat is Oakland, but they have to travel all the way to Nashville after we take care of the Baltimore Ravens after our bye week (that is, if Baltimore can make it through wild card weekend)... but no worries... we'll get at the Raiders in 2 weeks, then on to Tampa we go to claim what we almost stole from the St. Louis Rams 1 year earlier....

...Ray Lewis punks Eddie George and our dreams, hopes, and the best chance we've ever had a securing a SB (until now) vanish at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens.... that is why we HATE YOU and you tolerate us. Even the playoff win in your stadium back in 2003 did little to provide retribution. Only this upcoming weekend's game will heal this open sore of a wound that your guys left me with 8 years ago...
