Well hopefully we can get brooks back sooner rather than later. Sad to hear about Elam, I had high hopes that this would be the year he'd turn it around.

So it looks like we have Lewis and Hill as our starting safeties... Bummer Get well Elam such a shame cuz he was turning it around this off season and had a renewed spirit.

Injury bug has been biting lets hope no more serious ones seems these injuries or nagging aches and pains they just need rest... maybe more stretching is necessary cuz after such a long off season rest these guys have hamstring and tendonitis issues trainers are going to be busy

Drats! Every year it seems someone who's ready to take the next step comes down with a serious injury. Last year it was both Urban & Lewis-Moore and one can only hope that's it limited this year. But that's the nature of the game and the Ravens are far from alone in facing such circumstances.

This time of the year I wake up in the morning and check the Ravens News (I am 16hrs behind USA time), and cross my fingers that there are no articles like this....

Bad luck Matt, hope you are back on the field soon buddy.

I would defenitly like to see us pick up BERNARD POLLARD,he's available and still a HARD HITTER!,he told the TITAN'S to release him because he want's to be on a winner.he's alittle quirky, but all the great one's are.

yeah noone fear's us over the middle any more since he left.if you watch when we played against BRADY,BRADY alway's looked scared and got in his head. I wish everyone would go to CONTACT US at the bottom of page and let OZZIE knowq we want him back.

Pollard does bring the nasty but he also brings the yellow. The league is getting softer all the time. His style of play and attitude in the locker room is why they went a different direction. We were playing with like 10 safeties on the roster last year. I am sure they have someone who can fill his (Elam's) spot. Bad luck for him certainly and I hope he recovers quickly.

his bad tackling technique caught up with him, arm tackling, we will be fine at safety position, there will cuts after training camp, ozzie will keep eye for depth,we still have levine, traWACK, perry, no to pollard, we want see young guys in there that can develop.

with DBs we have might not sign anyone for safety depth, we can use Levine, greenwood, traWACK, perry, walker, jackson.

Since well never really know if he was going to be that much better or not, this is not such a big loss no matter how long he's out. I was ready to wash my hands of him last year after he missed so many tackles, but I'm not as patient as Coach harbaugh.

I hate to say it... but this may be a blessing in disguise for elam. It gives him an opportunity (after he heals up) to focus on conditioning, developing, and growing in his football IQ... he likely wasnt going to see a ton of reps at S with WHill and KLewis out there... Elam wasnt going to get a ton of PT and everyone would have been talking about how he is underachieving.... Now it takes pressure off and gives him time to develop... I hope it isnt serious and I hope he heals up quick but if not... it may not be the worst situation in the world for Elam! It does leave us a little thin in the depth area at S however with Brooks on the PUP list.. maybe Nick Perry will step up!

Well I was hoping that this could be a prove me wrong ( in a good way ) year for Elam but this injury may have derailed his chances of turning things around this year.

I want pollard back!! I know him an john harbaugh had a lil beef but man he put fear in offensive players. With him our defense will be even more nasty an resemble that old raven defense.

Disappointing is an understatement. I really liked Elam when he was coming out of college. Getting DB-s ready for NFL-level of play takes some time. His first two seasons were disappointing, even considering the learning curve. But now when he's going to miss his third season, which would have been his make-or-break season, this is something more than a disappointment to someone, who really wanted to see Elam succeed with the Ravens.

I know lot of the fans here don't give a darn if he's injured or not since he has been below average player thus far, but losing some depth at a quivering secondary as it is can not leave any of us Ravens' fans cold. Considering what went down last season (our whole secondary), then THIS NEWS SUCKS!

So on the same day I hear a player on our secondary goes down, I hear the Steelers pick up a potential starter for a 5th rd pick that could turn into a 4th rd. Btw, he's been available for awhile now ...smh... I hate when these players slip thru the cracks...and out of all places he lands, it's Pittsburg...smh... makes me wonder if we did our due diligence or is a 5th(or potential 4th) rd pick that coveted?

As much as some fans give him trash talk, I have always liked Elam. He has been played out of his natural position since day 1 here, for the most part, playing FS his rookie year, and being used all over the field, but mostly as a CB, which he is not, last year. I think he was showing improvement and making an earnest effort to prove his First Round worth. I honestly was rooting for him to win the SS job over Will Hill, but now that is obviously not going to happen, and I feel bad for the guy. I would say I hope he can bounce back next year, but who knows what'll happen by that point. Either way, our safety depth, at the very least, takes a major hit with this injury. We seem to have some kind of major injuries in camp EVERY single year. I hope it doesn't go much further.
