Will the real return specialist appear? Harbs must get one. There will be players available to fill the role. It's just the matter of picking the right one. It's good the have Smith Sr and Webby there for a fair catch situation if necessary, but I want a returner with a firecracker in his pants. If the Ravens can fill this role without using their veterans the entire team benefits. Somebody will get cut and have something to prove. Go get him Ozzie.

We need a good decision-maker fielding kick-offs this year. Too often last year Joe started behind the 20 b/c the returner didn't take the touchback.

Once or twice to see how it goes isn't asking too much. I really would like him to be the best WR he can be and find someone else who is a better fit, considering risk and overall playing a first position or not. It seems too much like gambling. If you use SS in the playoffs, just to try to get an edge, and he pulls something and is out for the rest...that hurts. It can happen at any time of the year, though, so I'm not too happy about the idea of losing our best receiver (last year).

If he's got a good average on kick returns, give him a try of that and leave the punts up to somebody else, if they're on the same level. I'd start the season with somebody else and figure out whether our young receivers can make plays and when it's safe to say we're good, Smith Sr can take all returns if that's what works. But he's a little too valuable to get injured unless our WRs/TEs can step up.

Steve Smith Sr. is such a great asset to our team. I really enjoy watching his pressers. Harbs must thank his lucky stars every day. We really lucked in with this guy. He's all about winning and the team. The more I see him, I think he was made to be Raven.

I'm sure Steve Smith would do a great job as a returner, but he is too valuable as WR to risk an injury returning punts.
