Eh it is going pretty similar to 2013 Denver, do well in first half and get hopes up and then the 2nd half happens

Dat spin move doe

Would have been tough to keep up with Brewer on the team but no chance really without him.

Dat spin move doe - prettiest rushing TD I saw in a while

Yeah they showed some fight getting back in it in the first half as it was close to getting away then, they definitely get props for that. Brewer going down hurt though as did those couple big plays from Miller. Motley has some potential down the road but he needs work but it was not an ideal situation for him with the little bit of experience he has, especially passing the ball.

I actually thought the Hokies would keep in it with Brewer in. He was doing surprisingly well as a passers when he was able to get passes off. I know Ohio State had a pretty good pass rush going, but the tight ends were just eating the flats and the middle of the field. I think Tech would have stayed competitive until the end. Once Brewer went out, I think the team just lost its confidence and desire. The stadium went completely dead after that. That hurts your team when the fans aren't cheering anymore.

Biggest gripes I had were with play calling. Every single time Motley came in before Brewer got injured, it was an option jet sweep. Who runs that like six times straight and expects a better result? Loeffler is so unimaginative. Then, when he finally gets in, they ran it like two more times, he misses an easy pass, so they run it like three more times. I know people are saying he's inexperienced, but he's been on the roster for THREE years. If they have no confidence in him to throw it, why even make him your primary backup?

I love Bud Foster, but this game was just almost as if he had too much pride to swallow. The Bear defense worked in the last game, so what does he do? Uses the exact same defense after Ohio state has had an entire off season to prepare. Foster uses so many looks and formations, but goes right back to that because? I mean, I would have at least had one backup plan. I didn't like it because the Elliot touchdown showed how badly the Hokies needed a lone deep safety back there, but nope. Then Braxton Miller at receiver was killing Stroman because he had zero help and nothing changes again. I mean, he adjusted well to the run, but when you have a big armed quarterback like Cordale Jones, stopping the run isn't enough.

This game was really frustrating to watch after Brewer went down. The team just lost it after he went out.

Oh, one more thing, I don't get why Loeffler didn't use the bootleg more. Brewer obviously isn't the most mobile and the Virginia Tech offensive line isn't the best, so why did Loeffler not use the bootleg more? I saw two touchdowns off the bootleg and Brewer looked a hell of a lot more comfortable moving the pocket than he did climbing the pocket to avoid the big rush. Just baffles me

Yeah Brewer was on his way to another good night, would have been a lot more interesting had he stayed in.

As for the playcalling, it made sense why he hadn't passed the ball as soon as he threw the first pass. Motley still needs a lot of work in that department although he did show some potential by the end at least. Running the same play 6 times is not good though either. Bucky Hodges disappointed my quite a bit last night as well, invisible most of the night.

I think with Foster, it was really a double edged sword, Ohio State wanted to run the ball last night and if you take that extra guy out of the box, it helps them there quite a bit. But if you stack the box to defend the run then it leaves you vulnerable on the back end. This is where Ohio State's QB and O-line being better hurt us, last year we were able to stack the box and not respect the deep play because Barrett was under pressure and wasn't able to make us pay. This year, the line held better and their QBs were able to make us pay when they had a matchup they liked.

I don't know that Tech would have pulled it out all together, but they'd have been within a touchdown, I'd guess.

I don't care if they don't ask him to make a 20+ yard throw down the field, but they should have had him pass the ball in some firm or fashion. The play calling frustrated me a lot at times even with Brewer in because the Loeffler calls like a three yard out with six to go. Does he really expect that to get the needed YAC?

It just seemed like the Hokies prepared more for Barrett to be the quarterback over Jones. With Barrett, he is a serious running threat and he's far more mobile than Jones. I think they could have been fine to have a deep safety, especially with the corners getting worked the way they were. And it's not like Tech wasn't getting pressure, it's just that Jones is huge and Tech doesn't exactly use heavy weight lineman across the board.

Just a game that I think could have been handled better, but still, like I said, with Moffett in, Tech had no chance

Yeah can't disagree with any of that, I think the last paragraph sums it up best though. I mean Alabama and Michigan State got gashed by this team last year and it looks like Braxton Miller is a serious threat on their offense. No shame in losing to them, now they just have to focus on next week.

I never expected Miller to look like that. And the thing was, it's not like he was playing consistently well. He made two big catches and one huge run, but it was enough to break the game open and strike serious fear into the defense

Yeah those big plays were big in putting it away, they came right around when Brewer went down as well

I wasn't there because tickets were far too expensive, but apparently when he went down, the life in the stadium just disappeared

Yeah I wasn't there either but the announcers brought that up and you could tell while watching it.

Tickets were $250+ on Stubhub. I thought it'd be cool to go, but not for that price

Yeah tickets to games have gotten crazy, they are even worse nowadays for the NFL

When my brother and I went and saw the Falcons play the Redskins, I paid less than 300 for tickets around the 35, upper deck

Not bad then granted I would imagine the demand wasn't terribly high for that game

It was actually pretty full. It was a really crappy stadium, but it was fairly full.

It was DC. Such obnoxious fans

Haven't been down to FedEx field since VaTech played Boise(ugh that game was painful), never have seen the home team win there

The Falcons won when we went. My brother is a big Falcons fan and wore his jersey and that was hell the entire way in there. They got pretty quiet when the Falcons started doing work.

I would never go to a road Bengals, Browns, or Steelers game, ever, after how those fans were.

What happened with the Bengals fans?

I went to a Falcons-Redskins game with my brother and he's a big Falcons fan. People were just so obnoxious and rude. If it were an actual rivalry, I can imagine it'd be exponentially worse

Well, they are Redskins fans, but I understand where you're coming from.

Auburn about to lose to Jacksonville State? It's looking very possible.

That Jacksonville St QB completely choked at the end. Auburn looks far from the no. 6 team in the nation
