Almost at the point where practices start up again for college football, so here is this year's thread.

Two big things today, hence the creation of this thread.

1.  The Coaches Poll was released: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2015/07/30/amway-coaches-poll-top-25-breakdown/30839167/

2.  Ohio State suspended star DE Joey Bosa (a top 2016 draft prospect) for their first game of the season vs Virginia Tech for "violating Athletic Department policy."  Three others were suspended as well.  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/07/30/potential-no-1-pick-joey-bosa-suspended-for-ohio-states-opener/

That Bosa suspension feels a bit like that half-game suspension Manziel copped a couple of years ago. Whether it means anything for his draft stock depends on him from here on, it probably won't be that big a deal but if he gets pinged again that becomes more serious.

Reports are the 4 suspensions at OSU are for marijuana and academics

Perhaps a bad mix of both.

There goes Chip Kelly's draft board for next year.

Hail Mary crushed Crush. Another great play on that TD - BYU player hugging the ref who called the TD.

And AS are now terrified of him.

I think a lot more teams are as well, he killed it against Auburn last year I remember. ASU really struggling though

Now the question becomes how bad VT gets beat tomorrow, honestly if it isn't a total blowout I would be very surprised.

I'd be surprised if it weren't close.

Four suspensions to wide receivers when the Hokies already have am elite secondary and defense and the Buckeyes are missing Bosa. I would have feared Elliot a lot more if the Buckeyes passing attack were more dangerous, but it's not in this game.

I don't expect Tech to win, but I don't expect a blowout

Even without Bosa, Brewer is still going to need to play out of his mind again.

Their line and QB(whoever it is) will be a lot more experienced than that game

Didn't we lost both our safeties last year? What are we looking like there?

Ohio State is going to want to embarass us, feel like we are their Michigan State this year.

I'd love for it to be close but I just am not getting my hopes up right now.

The thing is, Brewer has another year in that offense and Bucky Hodges, Cam Phillips, and Isaiah Ford all have another year after each being freshman with no game day experience before that season. I think that bodes really well for the offense.

I do believe they lost both safeties, but one is Chuck Clark who played a lot last year and the other is Desmond Frye. Not sure how much he played, but with missing out on four starting receivers, that's a huge hit for Ohio State. The crazy thing, though, is that Foster played a ton of zero coverage against Ohio State the first game. He was daring them to beat the Hokies deep and that's when Ohio State had Devin Smith.

I was far more worried about Ezekial Elliot until the suspensions happen. If Fuller has anything like a normal season, Ohio States fifth receiver won't do much of anything and Faycson is a pretty good corner in his own right. I think that bodes well for the Hokies to really buckle down and focus down on Elliot.

I'm really not expecting a win, but I don't expect a blowout.

Do VT fans feel little less pessimistic now?

Eh it is going pretty similar to 2013 Denver, do well in first half and get hopes up and then the 2nd half happens
