[News] Steve Smith Sr. Less Anxious In Year Two

@ KidNme - I agree 100%. I just love this guy. So glad he's a Raven. You kind of get the feeling he's always been a Raven - just now he actually gets to wear the uniform.

My only regret about Steve Smith is that he should have been a Raven his whole career. Even when he was playing in Carolina, i used to think he should play in Baltimore.

I still say the Ravens got this guy at the right time, his knowledge of the game for the movement of what the Ravens are becoming, when hes done here he'll be remembered as if he played way more years here than how ever many he ends up playing.

I, like probably all Ravens fans, just love this guy and wish we could have had him for his entire career. He just plays like a Raven, talks like a Raven, just IS a Raven. I really hope that his fire starts to show up in our young receivers by seeing them fight for the ball like he does. But, you know what? Now that I've established just how much of a fan I am of SSS, I'd like to make a point. Unfortunately, I can't quote the article or post, but I have read on here a comment, which Did provide its source, stating that stats showed SSS had the second highest # of dropped passes in the league. So what! Right? We all know how valuable this guy is to our team and I, for one, am happy with him just the way he is. But, for a moment, think about Breshad Perriman. I do realize that he has everything to prove, so it's not exactly the same circumstances, but Heaven help him if he should drop a pass in OTA, training camp, whenever. I promise you that it doesn't help Perriman for him to constantly hear about the One thing he is most likely working the hardest on to correct and eliminate. That is his concentration and focus. That is ALL that is causing his drops. He, actually, has very good hands. So, I'm just trying to point out that if we could just get behind the guy and try to help him by not getting into his head with all the comments he has to endure, and give SSS and the coaches more time to work with him, I really think we will soon forget about it and see it disappear for the most part. And if Perriman eventually puts up SSS type numbers, but winds up having the second most drops in the league, will we hear about it as little as we do about that happening to SSS? I'm just trying to say, we all love SSS, so let's, at least, Start loving another one of our receivers, Breshad Perriman. If he Never corrects it, then maybe we should revisit things. But, for now, let's get behind this very promising kid and try to help him. I'm looking forward very excitedly to what Both SSS And Perriman are going to do for us this year.

My son decided to put the pads on this year for the first time, said he wants to be a WR like Steve Smith and told his coach he wanted #89. Had camp a week ago, told me he was going to win the medal in the passing drills and sure enough he won the medal, caught everything that was thrown at him that was catchable. By the end of the camp all the coaches talking about the first year kid who can catch. Should be a fun season!! Would love for him to be able to meet Smith Sr one day, he really likes the way he plays.

Smith Sr has been a real asset to the Ravens. I hope he can be as productive as Derrick Mason was, The similarities are there.

Yes indeed.....it's Training Camp Time ! Steve Sr. tailed off a bit towards the middle of the Season, but really the whole team did have a "lull" period. Lost 2 in a row and then beat mediocre teams and lost at Home to San Diego. However, I would expect the same type of Season from Smith Sr.....and perhaps even a bit better, than his inaugural Season in B'more. He makes a huge difference with his veteran presence.....on the Offensive side of the ball.

It's been a long ride for Steve Smith. It was destiny why and how he ended up with the Ravens proving he can still pull 1,000 plus yards. Hopefully destiny is meant to give him a ring with the Ravens.
