[News] Sal Paolantonio Clarifies Comments On Steve Bisciotti

This is going to reduce his legacy big time.... if he destroyed evidence???? He's got no shot at winning the appeal.

Legacy in the public's eyes is incredibly overrated.

Legacy is how people that KNOW YOU think of you. I can guarantee the opinion of Tom Brady amongst the people that know him, including coaches, players, teammates, etc. is vastly different than the alleged "tarnished legacy" that others allude to.

I can't imagine a single scenario in my life where I would care one bit what somebody who didn't know me and only watched me on TV thought about me, and I'm sure Tom doesn't care either.

If/when he goes into the HOF, likely on the first ballot, then we will all have a REAL idea of what his legacy is. Cheaters are in the HOF. Steroid abusers are in the HOF. Multiple-time crime offenders are in the HOF. Just a hunch, but deflating some footballs and lying about it isn't quite going to be enough to effect his legacy amongst his peers, which is what really matters.

Legacy is not overrated...it's all you have when the game is over. It annoys me a bit when people say "I don't care what other people think" because we all do. We just say we don't care when it's something negative. Tom wants this off his record for that reason entirely...so he does very much care what others think about him. It's why we do the things we do. It's why you go out and buy that 1million dollar Bugatti, it's why you buy that 4.5million dollar home, it's why you get a limo instead of a taxi, it's why you own 12 pair of shoes instead of two, it's why you post on Facebook everything you are doing etc. EVERYONE cares what people think about them! And Legacy is not what "people that know you think of you". When we speak about legacy in regards to sports, it's almost entirely based off the perception of people that DON'T KNOW YOU. None of us KNOW Tom Brady...and that would include Patriot fans...however, with that being said, his football legacy will almost entirely consist of people that don't know him. Ray Lewis's legacy is based on that of society not just his teammates, coaches, etc...if that were the case Kamar Aiken should have a greater legacy than Steve Smith...although I love Smith I am sure more players and coaches would say he is not as good of a teammate as Kamar Aiken yet he has the better legacy in the public eye because of his accomplishments (by the way, this is no way a shot at Steve Smith...he is just misunderstood by a lot of people). Everyone on TV cares what people think about them, otherwise why do it?? When Tom decided he wanted to play in the NFL and wanted to become the greatest to ever live, I'm sure he understood that with that comes a public perception of you as a person and a player. If you have a Facebook account and you have more than 100-200 friends, it's pretty safe to assume you very much care what people think about you.
