[News] Late For Work 7/23: Who'll Gain More Yards: Justin Forsett Or Adrian Peterson?

"When it comes to the start of training camp, the Ravens have one foot in the past and another in the present." What the heck does that mean?

i could care less about who has more yards, what i care about is who has more wins. if he can get pretty close to that 1266 this year that means we are pretty balanced and that makes us a scary team!!!

Whoever thinks Forsett will have more yards than AD is just a fan and isn't thinking straight. 2013 he basically carried that team with 8 and 9 men in the box. Now he has a QB and a couple of Wr's. Peterson will lead the league in rushing this year and I'll go as far as he'll be the offensive player of the year this year.

AP will have more yards simply because the Vikings are almost solely dependent on him. Granted, Bridgewater did have a decent rookie year with decent receivers and no AP but he's not Flacco.

Barring injury, Forsett will have more yds/$ than AD. No doubt about it. Way to go, Ravens FO.

It will IMHO boil down to two factors:

- Peterson's health;

- the vikings' QB.

If Peterson can stay healthy, and Bridgewater fails to make progess, they might revert back to the good old stuff-AP-with-balls-until-he-bursts-and-some-more strategy, while if Flacco can find success with his receiving corps, Forsett may see much fewer carries than Peterson.

The YPC stat might be an interesting battle scene.

I don't know how or when, but I just refuse to believe that we will not sign Tucker to a long term deal. You just don't let the best kicker in the league get away from you. That leg of his has already won a boatload of games for us and, I'm quite sure, there's a bunch more to come. Besides how good he is, he's one of the fans' favorites. His above tweet is typical. He's always praising the Ravens fans. I watched the video of him practicing at Patterson Park, and he's just so happy all the time, always giving props to the kids and Ravens fans. We just can't, and won't, let Justin go anywhere. Justin, you're a Raven and you always need to be, so don't even let any thought of going anywhere cross your mind. Justin Tucker, kicker extraordinaire, and Raven for life. I mean, does anyone even want to imagine not having that smiling face, upbeat attitude, down right fun guy, kicking for Anyone other than the Ravens? Of course not! What a silly thought! Ozzie, you're the best in the business so you know when the right time is, but I know you'll get it done.

I was surprised to see Strong fall to the 3rd. I kept thinking we might pick him up too. Imagine 2 WRs that early in the draft by the Ravens.

If Forsett - Taliaferro - Allen combine for more yards than Peterson than I'll gladly take that. Because that'll mean that our offense is clicking on all cylinders and keeping the defense on their heels.

Won't lie i was a huge Strong supporter and i still see him having a Alshon Jeffrey type impact in the NFL. However if his weight will be a constant issue I'm glad Ozzie didn't touch him. No excuse for a WR to ever be out of shape when your entirely livelihood is bases on you running around in open space. Hope for his career work ethic won't be an issue. But since the draft i've become a huge fan of Perriman and believe he's the better fit for this team even without this news.

I can care less how many yards Forsett has and actually believe that the Ravens rushing attack will feature the trio of Forsett, Tali and Buck so stats won't be as important for either guy. I think Trestman will run the ball more then people think but this will be an offense centered around Joe Flacco and feature a 3 headed rushing attack.

Monroe needs to get and stay healthy. The oline will be the most important unit on this team imo and Monroe needs to play up to his potential for the unit to excel. I like what Hurst did with his limited playing time last season but I'm not sure he's ready to man the LT position permanently this year.

Sucks that Cam Worthy is on pup but it's great for him because he'll still be around the team learning and getting professional coaching. He'll still be able to take mental reps and if the kid is as good as i think he is, the coaches can make a decision on whether to add him to the active roster, PS or IR him after week 8. For whatever if a WR gets hurt or just doesn't perform throughout the first half Cam is a rookie that could fill in and make a little noise imo.

I think Buck is the #2 guy

I don't believe Justin will have more rushing yards but I do think he could have more scrimmage yards (total yards) than Peterson. Marc Trestman likes to throw at Rbs in space especially screen plays so I could see that happening. P.S. Great News for me is that I got the tickets for the Ravens training camp in the faculty in the mail today Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!! LOL :-)

I'm going with Justin! Defenses are "ALREADY" terrified of Joe and have to spread out more and Justin being in Bmore another year and focused, he's gonna have his way like he should have done against the pats instead of that very very very bad pass! My confidence level is thru the ROOF! This team can set the bar and make history! THE ANTICIPATION IS ASTOUNDING!

We don't need Forsett to carry the load like the Vikings would need from Peterson. IF JF can be solid again... we have so many weapons and can be so balanced this year that we will give defenses fits... THe Vikings need Peterson to be 70-80 % of the offense... glad we are not in that position!

Peterson will have more yards because Minn has no passing game and Peterson is the only good RB. The Ravens have 3 RB's and a more balanced offense. Plus Joe likes to spread the ball around and is aiming towards that 4k yds.

Regardless we got a steal with Forsett, the guy is a class act on and off the field...

This is a terrible article. Comparing someone that has had 1 okay year in the NFL to someone that has over 10,000 career yards. And comparing 2 receivers have never even played a down to each other based off of OTA's? Slow news day in Baltimore.

Peterson has a lot more to lose if he goes out there and flops there fore he would have the edge.

What exactly does he have to lose that Forsett doesn't?

No surprise we would hide one of our WR on Pup, i'm sure 1 or 2 more find their way on IR, just to much talent to cut, and expect to clear waivers when cut day comes...

Those stats about our first round pick success are especially impressive since we tend to select players near the end of the first round because we win every year.

Strong showing up 20 lbs over weight is a bad sign, I am sure that the Texans are going to work his butt of, glad that he is their problem!

Only a 9% chance of making the p[layoffs?? I am laughing hard at that one!! Ridiculous. But hey--as we all have been saying--we are used to it. We will have the last laugh.

With training camp starting today, I see that changing tomorrow.  Training camp and pre-season offer more fodder for stories and for fan comments than the regular season because the speculation and hopes are so high amongst all of us.  Plus there are 90 players to talk about not just 53.  From on field to touching off field stories, the next 4 - 6 weeks offer some of the best articles and comments of the season.  Of course, if we get to the playoffs, it really gets interesting, but I really like this part of the year.  The new players, the vets fighting for positions, the questions surrounding the offense and defense and all the rookies we are counting on.  I am a die hard Hard Knocks fan and that is why I really love the preseason.  Also, got into training camp through the lottery so I am stoked.  I am salivating already......

THe real questions is.... at the end of the season... who will have paid more per yard! THe Ravens or the Vikings... I am guessing we win that one in a landslide! Great Job Ozzie!

Peterson will have more rushing yards, Forsett more yards from scrimmage. I also believe Forsett will have a higher YPC
