[News] Poll: Which Rookie Will Make Biggest Impact In 2015?

41 posts in this topic

I really think Perriman will make the biggest impact. I believe he'll be worked into the offense early (more so than Willaims, since Gilmore is here from last year). He poses as a very effective weapon for Joe to exploit; just hope it comes about. I think all the rookies (especially the first 3-4 selected) will contribute this year, just think Perriman will have the biggest contribution/impact.

"Which rookie will make the biggest impact in 2015" I have two DT Carl Davis and RB Buck Allen! But it's so deep I know they all can't wait to get on that field and contribute! Nuthin but great plays from every side of the ball this season THE ANTICIPATION IS ASTOUNDING!

Perriman's probably the ONLY one that can contribute this season. This draft wasn't like the 2014 draft in which EVERYONE played.

Carl Davis or Za'Darius Smith. I think both Perriman and Williams will be overwhelmed by the NFL experience and becoming prolific on defense is a lot easier than doing it on the offense.

I think MADD MAXX would make more of an impact then Predator (no offense it works for him). Everyone forgot we're deep at WO and Butler and Kamar is making a serious case to start so we really don't need him to step up right away. Pitta is on the PUP, Crockett will start so we'll need that TE2, TE3 to step up and I see MADD MAXX taking some huge reps at least the first 6 or 7 games.

when i look at all the rookies drafted, and undrafted, i see so much potential, where it wouldn't surprise me if we got nice play from a few who haven't been the headline name guys....

That is truly a "Who Knows?" question. But, I'm going to go with Perriman. With Torrey's departure, I think Joe, Trestman, and even Harbs are going to be real anxious to establish the idea to defenses that we can still take the top off. And, with his speed, Perriman's their guy. Having that deep threat does So much for the running game. I think it's going to be real important to have defenses know that they can be beat deep. I hope Perriman is much more of an all around receiver, though, than Torrey was, and I believe that he is. Everybody just has to get behind the guy and show some support even if he does drop one early. The worst thing that could happen is for him to get his head all screwed up worrying about that kind of crap. Let's show the guy some real Raven support. He's going to be a real good one. I have a good feeling about this kid.

My instinct tells me perriman, just bc he is technically Torrey's replacement and will be used heavily with trestmans offense and joes deep ball skills. However I think buck Allen will be a pleasant surprise and may be our #1 running back of the future. I'm also not sleeping on Boyle- there's a lot of high expectations for Maxx, which is less pressure on Boyle and I think he may be a real sleeper as well.

None of the rooks have to play GREAT but if the top 4 picks can play WELL we'll be in great shape going forward. Ravens have plenty of talent elsewhere that the coaches should be able to develop the rookies and not overwhelm them. Basic rookie production with the arrow pointing upward would satisfy me.

Kind of a no brainer. Perrimans ability to stretch the field should impact the entire offense. Whether he's targeted or not, he'll be opening things up underneath. I also see him drawing alot of pass interference calls much the way Torrey did.

I voted for ZaDarius Smith, too ;)

I just see something in that guy...

Perriman's probably the ONLY one that can contribute this season.

So, you don't think Maxx Williams will see extended play time - in spite of having a much, much thinner competition (assuming Pitta will start the season on the PUP-list) than Perriman? Or that he will get his time but won't be able to really contribute?

If I were to guess:

RB Allen will share the rock w/ Forsett in b/n the 20s while Taliaferro shares the rock with Forsett in the redzone

TE Williams gets his opportunity just like every TE; it's up to him to shine like Pitta or fade like Dickson

OLB Smith I think will get in often b/c we love to rotate and keep men fresh; plus if he has a specialty, we'll find it

WR Perriman I believe will not beat out either Brown or Aiken at first however I think he will get in depending on match ups and certain spots in games and he'll get his opportunity to prove himself

DT Davis For the same reason as OLB Smith

And finally...

CB Walker I don't see us going through the same injury problem w/ the secondary like last season (knock on wood) so I don't really see him getting as much PT as anyone else

Im think za'darius smith he's a great pass rusher who can only get better think with some much better options right now that perriman will only get on the field for certain plays especially with kamar aikent marlon brown and jeremy butler and more than likely gilmore starts with williams only in two tight end sets

If Perriman is beaten out by Brown/Aiken/Butler (3 UdFAs) Ozzie will be very disappointed. Not saying Perriman needs to start game 1 but by game 5 he needs to be engrained in the offense.

As mentioned already I also say perriman, being the deep threat helps everyone else and he should draw a few pi calls on top of the plays he makes. With that said, I still think several rookies help us this year

I think Perriman will have to split too much of his playing time with the vets.

Tight end is a tough position to make the transition from college to pro. Heap and Pitta didn't really shine in their first year so unless Maxx is a superstar, I don't see him making the biggest rookie impact.

Carl Davis will get in the rotation and have a chance to show his stuff.

Tray Walker has too many vets in front of him to really shine.

Za'darius Smith has to sit behind Doom, Sizz, and Upshaw. Not much chance for him to play.

Buck Allen is 3rd right now on the depth chart and that's not counting Juice.

My guess is Carl Davis has the best chance to make the biggest impact this year.

I can't say who it will be, but I certainly am hoping it is Perriman. He's our best bet at being the guy who can take the top off the defenses ... so he needs to perform well enough to warrant being on the field and giving us that dimension. His impact will not only be with the stats he accumulates, but he will also open up opportunities for the rest of the offense.

Bruce, Perriman won't be beaten out by Butler, he will eventually make the most difference to the team, but Butler will make the most difference now of the rookies. I say that because he had been in the Ravens training program for a year and that counts a lot. He was looking better than Aiken in camp last year and caught everything in sight in mini camp this year. I just think he is on a mission. I think Allen will have a very good shot too. He is pro ready and a scouting service I have found to be reliable at predictions likes him now instead of being raw talent needing development he can go immediately.

I'm going with the under dogs I see with the best chances.

It is going to be Carl Davis in relief that will have the biggest impact on our defense. Write that somewhere so we can revisit it in a year or so...
