That's the depressing thing about the NFL season. The offseason drags out and you get excited for the games to start again (to the point where preseason games look good) and before you can get settled in for the new season it's the Super Bowl already.

look man... we all have players we like.. but buying a jersey MEANS something, and theyre expensive, and anyone with a brain would strongly advise against getting an aiken jersey. 

 

not saying you lack a brain lol, just a figure of speech. 

 

really though, regardless of past performances and expectations, you shouldnt buy a jersey of a player who isnt even guaranteed a roster spot. lets say smitty and perriman are the only locks, and then jeremy butler and marlon brown run away with the 3 and 4 spots, campanaro stays healthy and runs away with the slot/punt returner job, and then carter stays on the roster as the kick returner OR waller has a good preseason as a redzone threat...

 

thats 6 wr's right there.. its not the most likely of scenarios, but man an aiken jersey almost seems like a totally reckless purchase lol

Agreed.  For me it's pretty safe to say that there's 4 locks at WR:  SSS, Perriman, Aiken, and Brown.

i said its an unlikely scenario, but we have had bigger surprises during preseason. 

 

deonte thompson and tandon doss were both shining stars in the offseason and were anointed the saviors of the wr corps long before preseason started, and they were running with starters during OTA's... and this was like for 3 offseasons in a row. 

 

all it takes is an injury to aiken or for a few other guys to catch fire when the lights come on in august, and suddenly aiken would become an afterthought. like i said, i highly doubt it, but there are far more reasons to NOT invest in an aiken jersey than there are TO buy one. risky purchase, dudes still a career journeyman and only had 200 some yards for us last year.

Me three, would also love to sweep the Steelers but I think I'll go with a split there (each team takes home game).

I'd like my Ravens to go 12-4, but I'll settle for 11-5.

I would like people to at least consider supporting players like Mosely to start.

I'm pretty sure he hasn't topped even top 15 rookie jersey sales last year. He was a DROY and a pro bowler for goodness sake.

Start with supporting our stars. Our city almost feels like San Antonio(Spurs). Not a good thing.

I can see the case for not taking one of the glory numbers. It's not like there's any shortage of 5, 52 or 20 jerseys and it gets pretty mundane after the 50,000th time. Give it two or three years and 57 will be one of the mainstays too. I can definitely get behind finding a more obscure guy to root for, and the only reason I didn't get 31 last year was that I couldn't find any on any websites I actually trusted.
