[News] Eisenberg: The Key To Another Ravens Playoff Season

45 posts in this topic

I like the Ravens 1st Commandment as there's nothing more demoralizing then seeing your team's D being run up and down the field. Love that D Fence chant at M&T... Can't wait !

Good times coming... I want to see Buck Allen in the mix.  I hope Jus progresses further as an offensive threat.  Fifty some odd days until Regular season. :baltimore-ravens:

We have the foundation in place to be a contender for years to come. I just cant wait to see how position battles play out this pre-season. It is definitly going to be fun to watch. As a bonus Brady has not retired yet and we have some unfinished buisness with him for sure.

Thou shall stop the run.

It's amazing looking through the top photos of the week and just realizing how much talent we have. It's so much that you tend to forget guys - as I scrolled along through the pics I was like oh yeah we have him too. And him. And him. And wow forgot about him too. Damn were gonna have a good team.

I know what you mean we have had so many guys injured in pre-season or training camps that some of these players we have not really even got a chance to see in a meaningful game and you kind of forget abot them sometimes.

This has been one long offseason.

You can say that again...Cant wait... Lets get the part started.

Unlike most teams, we don't let coordinators dictate what our teams does, we stick to our roots and rely on whats gotten us 2 SB and multiple playoff appearance's. it's simply Ravens football. Go Ravens!

It should be obvious to anyone who has watched this team back in 2013 how important proficiency in both aspects of the ground game is to our success. Our inability to run the ball that year was stunning and frustrating.

Running and stopping the run may be fundamental to the Ravens success but the way the NFL is configured today means they must have a passing attack that will stretch the field. Hopefully, Perriman will mature quickly and be in that mix. He can help stop the opponents from stacking the box and ultimately propel the running game.

The Ravens will run the ball in 2015, but they will not rely on it, and we will not have a "ground and pound" offense. Our offense was run heavy for more than a decade, and during that time, they were never better than mediocre. Never. Not once. Last year, we were pass heavy, about 55%-45%, and we set franchise records. As we see in the playoffs, our offense is too dangerous and explosive to anchor it down with a "stick to the run, even when it's not working" philosophy. We become more pass oriented, and much better, in the postseason. With the playmakers we drafted and the OC we hired, it's only going to perpetuate that reality. Times change, and the game evolves, and we are moving forward, not backward.

If we have to rely on Monroe we're in big trouble. We were desperate and Monroe was the best Oz could do. He's been average at best and that when he's available which always seems like a 50/50 deal.

Running the ball is part of our system and beneficial in the afc north. going pass happy as we saw in 2012 and 2013 didn't really help and when we have balance like last year we had more success plus the offensive line helped too. I believe with our young vet talent like kamar aiken and marlon brown and jeremey butler we will be in good shape and with the rookies coming in on certain packages so they come along when needed it will all work out so that we continue to be balanced.

I think our team has some really good young players at the dline a solid oline and back ups. Our running game with forsett,LT,Buck allen should be very explosive.joe has a talented WR group. Perriman and waller pluse aiken smith and brown. joe is going to have a break out year and i think we will have a top 10 offense and defense and that will get us to the playoffs baring injurys. Kendrick lewis is going to be a ball hawk and elam is going to be in on sub packages and play well plus arrington. Our pass rush is going to be very interesting with KPLM brent urban sean means and jerrnigan. our lbs are very good as well mosley smith and brown. I see us going to the super bowl. But it starts with denver i cant wait to see peytons look on his face when we swarm him and shut down the run and show our physical play GO RAVENZ

I believe in Marc Trestman. I'm sure we will have a strong running game that will set up the play action passes. Last season Flacco really looked good with the play action plays and we can't get away from that and coach Harbs won't let that happen.

I agree with most that we need to be a balanced team with both the run and the pass. We just can not be too predictable.

Trestman has to love this opportunity. So much depends on our receivers. Look at Trestman and his first season in Chicago. A big reason I expect Joe Flacco to get lots of opportunities. Trestman has something to prove. The running game will be the backbone of the passing attack. The Red Zone offense needs to step up. The Ravens defense is hungry. I'm not too concerned about them. Staying healthy and fresh is the key.

the only position that scares me is WR.... i expect perriman to be a superstar but he is unproven and a rookie...if he takes a while to catch on then the passing game may struggle...or at least joe will need to rely on the te's...and while also very talented..there are also a ton of question marks there...SSS is 35 , perriman is an unproven rookie, brown, aiken, camp, waller and company all very talented but need to take the next step- pitta's hip?, williams and boyle unproven rookies and can gilmore take the next step... still a lot of questions in the passing game- ton of talent but they need to come around and produce if we are going to get to where we want to go. still wouldn't mind seeing a possible signing there? more competition is never a bad thing

If the TE depth can come on strong this year, Breshad, SSS, Waller, Marlon, Aiken, and Camp will have all the space they need on the outside because defense is gonna have to watch the seams with Pitta and Williams in a dual TE set.
