[News] In Line For Bigger Role: TE Crockett Gillmore

37 posts in this topic

I really think unless Pitta is 100% that he needs to start the season on the PUP list. Given the emergence of Gillmore and the drafting of Maxx, we wont have to rush Pitta back and the production can still be there. Also, that will allow us to use those 1st 6 weeks to further evaluate our WR core and whenever Pitta is ready to play, he can take the least productive WR roster spot, Just my 2 cents

i know gilmore didn't get a lot of passes his way last season, but i dont think he had a drop. maybe one, but i cant remember any. He seems to have a good set of hands.

a lot of people seemed to have just dismissed Crockett last yr as "oh, yeah. Hes there too". But he was drafted in the 3rd round for a reason. Ozzie must have seen something in him pretty special and I think this year we are all gonna find out what it is.

Holy crap! 6' 6" and 275lbs ! I'd hate to be on the receiving end of him coming down the field! He could develop into being a real receiving monster (our own Gronk). Really getting excited to see the offense in action this season.

Honestly i'm very interested in seeing how all the sophomore players do this year, with less thinking, and more reacting, and knowing where to be on the field....

I have a feeling that Crockett is going to have a big role in our offense this season and do very well.

They should have posted video of his touchdown from the wildcard game. Pure power and determination! There were Steelers bouncing off of him and I think there were a couple stuck to his cleats by the time he reached the endzone! Playing like a Raven...a 275 lb Raven with an attitude! Can't wait to see some more of that!

Every little 200 lb corner ought to be in his route  scheme  Man I wish Eric Davis from NFL channel was still playing.  I would love to see a Croc devour him .

I want to see pure devastation and carnage within 15 yards of scrimmage from the Croc. His height/weight and hand skills can easily match safety and linebacker matchups. Gronk, Olsen, Witten and Heath Miller should not be the only ones celebrated  by the NFL channel

I said the same thing and caught a little grief. I don't think he will reach gronks status more so than I think he will be like " our version" of gronk.

Crockett can be a matchup nightmare if that's what you mean by our Gronk. Too big for safeties, too athletic for LBers (and maybe too big too).

I doubt he'll be as anywhere near as prolific as Gronk for several reasons. If Pitta is 100% he'll eventually be the starter. We just drafted Maxx who will need snaps. And we've got too good a run game.

I do think he breaks out this year though and becomes a legitimate starter. He's incredibly efficient, catches everything, and can block. He should be a great 3rd down and red zone weapon for us to start and then we'll see if he can be a field stretcher running seam routes.

With him, Pitta, Max and Juice; Forsett, Tali and Buck; SSS, Perriman, Aiken, Brown, Camp, Waller and Butler we've got a ridiculous amount of talent.

Add in the oline and if Joe can't crack 4k yards this year there aren't any excuses. Out of all those players 5 players have to emerge as quality pass catchers; and Crockett may make the biggest leap of anyone.

Its crazy that some LBs are playing at like 230-250 and he has maybe 4 inches and 25 lbs or more on LBs!!!!

Gilmore reminds me of Heath Miller and whomever blocks the best will get more snaps! PLUS, the rollout Gilmore caught for a TD against the squeelers in the playoffs is the same play they should have ran against the pats instead of that very very very bad pass! The future belongs to the Ravens and this team can 3 peat so let's do this IM READY! 123 Woooooooooooooo

41%?!?!?! Crockett SUCKS...

Even Dickson is far better than gilmore.

He sucks and Dickson is better because Gilmore only lined up for 41% of the offensive snaps last year? That's just crazy talk.

This guy is a beast literally! I think based on how he played towards the end of the season for the Ravens, his trajectory is straight up. I believe he'll make it easy for Maxx Williams to relax and learn in his rookie year from Crockett! BTW how cool are these names for our TEs - Pitta, Crockett Gillmore, Maxx Williams and Boyle!!

I believe that Gilmore has really good hands and that he will do well as he is used more in the passing game. The one thing I did see in him that I would have to count as a bit of a downer was that he seemed to be rather slow as he thundered down the field. But, I wasn't really considering his size when I was thinking that. Good grief! 6'6" and 275 lbs! One can't expect a man that size to be a speed merchant now, can he? I don't think it's a concern at all. He may not be fast, but he certainly runs with real power, as the often referenced TD play against the Squealers certainly revealed. I really do think he'll do well. That's a lot of a powerful man to have to try to cover. Hoping for the best for him.

I think Gilmore positioned himself as "the blocking tight end" last year to get more snaps. His hands are much better than he let on. Now he'll start. Can't wait to see him run over a 190 lb. DB!

I think Gilmore can turn out to be a great tightend for converting 3rd downs and as a matchup problem in the redzone.

who needs speed when you can just pummel defenders to the ground and keep on rollin. Plus when were in the redzone we can pretty much just lob that sucker up and watch Gilmore do his thing. Keep in mind he didn't just add 15-25 lbs.. He added 15-25 lbs of muscle.

I'm not sleepin on Boyle either. He gets overlooked a lot just bc of the hype with Maxx and what not but don't count this guy out. His blocking will be much needed and he can catch the ball as well.
