Some big boys out there if they played with the same intensity as SSS they can do some damage especially against them Squeeler runts

I just hope Trestman uses all the receivers that end up staying on the roster to mix things up and keep teams guessing. We have enough to put some really interesting sets on the field (imagine Marlon Brown and Waller split wide on either side at the same time, for instance; Joe could throw at the goal post crossbar for them).

Of course last year in Mark Trestman's offense, Matt Forte was the leading receiver with 102 catches. Marcellus Bennett was second with 90 catches. Together they accounted for 1/3 of the touchdown passes.

I was rooting for Camp, but learning just now that he's 5'0", that's a bit short for an NFL WR. :)

Yeah, obviously Campanero isn't 5'0.  He is 5'9.  I'm a big fan of Camp as well, but his inability to stay on the field could cost him a roster spot.  Butler may be the better option.

I am loving what I am hearing about Butler. I love guys who have good hands and do not drop passes. No more Mark Clayton's and Tommy Streeter's please! IMHO, if you can't catch the ball, you should not be on the field.

IMHO i believe our roster will look like this barring injury, 7 on the active roster (SSS, Perriman, Aiken, Butler, Marlon *but he could be trade bait*, Waller, and Carter). I think Camp only stays if Carter is not ready for the NFL. But i could see Ozzie trading Marlon this offseason since he is in the last year of his contract. If Waller becomes a legit WR then he may be paired with Perriman for the future. No way do we keep both Carter and Camp they are essentially the same player, and if camp gets hurt in training camp then he's either cut or headed to IR, Waller may have a phantom injury that lands him on IR as well. This will be one of the most intriguing position battles in camp and i pray that every stays healthy and we get a daily unbiased update on each player. Pros/Cons please!!!

Great! we have options. You know that the coaches are going to try and keep Steve fresh for the end of season run and the play-offs, that alone should provide a lot of opportunity for our 4 & 5 receivers. Also, remember we are very good at stashing up coming talent on the injured reserve.

We will have one of these 3 players differentiate themselves in TC - Brown, Aiken or Butler for the #3 WR position. Steve Smith Sr. and Breshad Perriman will start the season as #s 1 & 2 with Campanaro vying with Asa Jackson for the kick returner.

I think the Ravens keep 8 WR active, one FB, 3 Tight ends, 3 RB, 2 QB, 9 linemen. for offense. 25 using 2 of the WR as return options and Special teams. Also possibly keeping a 9th on the PS. too much talent to let go. I see Aldrick R and Cam Worthy missing out barring no problems. JUst a great bunch of players to work with . Nice job Oz!

Campy is just fine Antonio Brown isn't 6ft and he balls very hard for them squeelers! Campy is a possession WR and more and Trestman knows how to use him! Welker type of guy!

Camp cannot compete with the players we have on our roster right now.....Don't see it....Gotta make room for Perriman,Waller and Brown.......plus at 5'9 and hurt all the time he's not dependable......Gotta go!!

For what its worth, I suspect Darren Waller will make the team and be a big surprise for us as the end-zone threat. He's fast, tall, strong, and humble.

I wonder what are the college stats comparison from Campanaro and DeAndre Carter. With Camp's health and fitness a question and Carter's kick return experience it would be interesting to see if losing Camp would hurt at all. I'm liking Carter with the "Bigs" (Marlon/Kamar/Jeremy/Darren) and of course Triple S.

Beyond Steve Smith Sr. and Breshad Perriman I see a whole lot of average number-three type players on this list. I hope one of these young guys steps up and proves he is better than his billing, but my money is on the Ravens drafting a number-two receiver with the 64th overall pick in next years draft after sending Steve Smith off into the sunset with a Superbowl ring.

I just find it hard to see the Ravens keep 7 receivers, especially if they keep 4 tight ends(like many have predicted).  Right from the beginning I have seen the receivers as a one on one competition, based on their size and skill level.    Smith and Perriman have already make the squad and don't really have any competition but Aiken vs Butler, Camp vs. Carter and Brown vs Waller. Aiken and Butler seem to be neck and neck and are pretty much the only other two that we know for sure will  make the squad. After that things get a little interesting.  Camp has been injured but based on what we have seen out of him when he is healthy he is probably one of the better receivers on the team and he has experience on special teams.  While Carter got a lot of hype early in camp it seemed to go away as things went on. Than we have Brown and Waller.  Brown had a good rookie season but had a down sophomore season.  And Waller is a guy that has redzone threat written all over him but hasn't made a big impression in camp. I just find it hard to not have the roster of SSS, Perriman, Aiken, Butler, Brown and Camp(if he is healthy).  Waller is a draft pick so he will probably end up on the IR to save him for next season.  I think Carter will have to really impress as a receiver and on special teams to make the 53 man roster.  I think he could also end up on IR, but don't be surprised if the team tries to put him on the practice squad and another team grabs him up.

From what I heard about Butler he as quick and shifty as Cater and Camp and could play the slot. For as big as he is THAT would be awesome. There just might be some surprises on who out of the WR group will be a return guy.

Just like Jimmy smith i do see perriman as a possibility to be a returner like torrey started out but i dont see him starting right away from what i hear butler on the other hand he's alot like boldin i could see as the number 2 right away or even rotation with sss because of the similar skil set waller he may have to do some special teams because with marlon brown as a redzone target i dont think waller is completely developed yet like touchdown tommy and for kamar he be a good #2 as well and camp in the slot when healthy is good

Whoo-Hoo! I absolutely LOVE these type of conversations. It's been so long since we've had pass catching talent like this. Actually, I don't think we've EVER had this many guys who can catch the ball! I'm giddy with excitement! Only like 50some days left to go?

I also think the type of passing plays we pull out this year might surprise us too. I see a lot of routes coming with positions that didn't usually catch the ball a lot, getting more looks this year. I see a multi-dimensional team right now that could beat you with our D, with our QB and receivers or running it down your throat with 3 different guys until you stop it. Then we'll throw it some more!

I Know it won't be that easy but right now, my purple kool-aid cup, runneth over!

GO RAVENS:-)

BTW, Love the new avatar Sami! Got that mystery look going on :-)

I see 7 on roster. SSS, Periman, Butler, Aiken, Marlon, Waller, then its up to camp or carter, I want carter to make it. camp is to injury prone. carter is faster and more shifty then camp. camp to injury reserve

Butler is definitely up and coming, people were sleeping on him, but I have been hearing nothing but good news about him. Keep up the good work Butler keep on fighting for your spot.
