It doesnt make sense to build a team based on their agents ability to dash to the barganing table lol ..im pretty sure it starts at performance

Yea... Grubbs performed so bad for us that year that he played his way straight into his first Pro Bowl(2011), and then again with the Saints in 2013. He was an excellent guard at the time, and the only thing that doesn't make sense is the fact that you keep implying that his release was performance based when nothing could be further from the truth.

 

Yanda's agent didn't need to "dash to the bargaining table" because Grubbs preference was to play elsewhere, and it is a well known fact that Yanda wanted to stay and play. Ben Grubbs wanted two things; 1. Top dollar, and 2. He wanted to play closer to home. Neither of which we could offer him, but the Saints could. Yanda was a virtual shoe-in, all he had to do was sign on the dotted line.

 

In the case of Yanda and KO, performance isn't that big of a factor because both perform similarly well. Yanda is a four time Pro Bowler, and most consider KO to be a Pro Bowl caliber guard as well. So it's not like we're comparing Marshal Yanda, and John Urschel here. The drop off in performance at the guard position between Yanda and KO is not that significant, and teams typically do not give big contracts to both guards. If KO just so happens to sign first then chances are we're going to be waving bye bye to Yanda, OR vise versa.

If you're unsure how good Upshaw is just ask Big Ben, he's rocked him at least twice!!

Yeah! I think Big Ben would help another team to pay and get upshaw out of this division so he don't need to face upshaw twice a year. Lol
