[News] Marc Trestman 'Unbelievably' Grateful To Be In This Position

29 posts in this topic

And yet some still will rate Cutler above Flacco. Ask Trestman to rate these guys. I can guarantee Flacco isn't going to him fired.

Imagine going from a whiner, head case like Cutler to Joe cool. That's gotta be a difference like night and day.

So happy to have you Marc. No one expects you to be another Kubiak and no one wants you to be another Cam. If you can end up somewhere in between and win games along the way we will all be just fine.

Joe is about to light it up. Stay a few years and win some SBs Marc. Your life will be much more enjoyable.

Great to have you! I can't wait to see how you have Joe come out firing the first week against the Broncos. I believe this offense is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

My not so bold predictions 11 and 5 season and on to win Superbowl #50...!

I'm hoping to see an imaginative, unpredictable, successful offense that will take us a long way this season. Of course I'd like another SB but I'm not going to put that on Marc &/or Joe.

I guess he is grateful to land on a team that came within a badly officiated game of going to the Super Bowl last year..... with injuries galore. We are loaded this year, the ball is in his court. Is Trestman worthy? I'd say absolutely; based on the front office great replacements of the past.

Wow. I just hope that it's possible for Trestman to live up to all this hype. I was optimistic last year when the Ravens grabbed Kubiak, now, partly because of last year, my expectations are even higher and the writers certainly are not tempering my expectations with articles like this.

2nd year in the west coast system i hope we improve from last year and are more comfy in the system this year maybe with a few tweaks we should be dominant on all sides of the game. Special Teams Defense and now Offense

If Trestman is as successful as we believe he will be with Joe and the rest of the offense, I hope he remembers how thankful he is to be here when other teams come calling again to hire him away from us for the umpteenth time.....but I'll take the greatness from him any day.....

Trestman will help Joe Flacco achieve nationally the fame that he now has in Baltimore. I am very convinced of that.

most definitely- and if things go according to plan he may help elevate flacco into the very top tier of qbs and put the elite nonsense ultimately to rest.

Believe me. Joe Flacco has national fame. They all know his name. He is overlooked because of the stats. Stats is a deceiving word. Manning had the great stats in 2012 but Flacco got the Ring. Joe's best is yet to come. I hope Trestman brings it out of him.

"Marc Trestman Unbelievably grateful to be in this position" sounds familiar hmmmmmmm "Ready the launching pad"! Lol not! He and Flacco can get this thing going in the rite direction and make this team a "DYNASTY" and more! Man I can't wait for this thing to pop off! "I can hear sweat trickin down their cheeks their heart beat fast like sasquatch feet thunderin shakin the concrete" in regards to all teams on the Ravens schedule!

I just hope he finds a way to make this offense play more consistently. It was hard watching us start so slowly week after week, before finally playing better in the second half or, sometimes, not until the fourth quarter. We had So many games where it looked like we just weren't ready to play when the whistle blew. So many 3 and outs. So many frantic 4th quarter comebacks. So many times where the offense looked like it was sleep walking to start the games. I'd like to us consistently start games like the one we played against the Squealers when we scored early and often, went into cruise control in the second half, and beat them convincingly. With the new additions to our offense, I think we should be capable of doing that. It seemed like last year we much too often played to the level of our competition and, sometimes, even worse than that. Of course, every team is going to leave a stinker now and then, but I don't think that there's any question that our offense needs to find a way to start games ready to play on a much more consistent basis. We have too much talent to have to be playing from behind so often and to find ourselves in so many "nail-biters." Have our offense on fire to start our games this season, Marc, how about it?

The team is set to succeed for several years once we take care of the o-line contracts. Lets hope trestman either stays cause its a great organization or that he stays a few years so he could pick what team he's the head coach for versus taking the first offer he gets

I can see him staying here for some years. He's been kicked around a lot but we tend to stick with who we got as long as we can because not only is our team a good farm for players but coaches also get a lot of value being on this team for any amount of time too.

I wish him all the luck in the world and hope his family can stay put for a while!

I was really disappointed when Rick Dennison left, so I am just starting to warm up to the idea of Trestman being our OC. I am starting to really believe he he going to make the most of his opportunity here. He seems very happy here and I believe he will want to make a good impression. I think being a HC was a little much for him. I hope we are very successful with him as our OC and he stays here for a good while.

I just imagine him saying something to Joe then cringes waiting the Cutler-like response he is used to.

Maybe that is why they get along so well. Trestman can actually have an adult conversation with Joe.

Trestman and Flacco are already getting along which is a good thing. Forsett maybe won't get as many touches for rushing but will in pass' caught and he is shifty and hard to tackle in the open field. Flacco will definitely get past that 4000 mark.

Its  nice to know that Trest has mastered an offense tried and true in SF with Steve Young.  Joe may enjoy the medium to short range passes Trest has is store for him. Our TE's are going to love this

Tres has a lot to work with here, one of the things he should be most thankful for is Harbaugh. John is a leader, he is a winner and he puts faith in his coaches and cuts them loose. Tres, if wants it, will be the guy who puts the Ravens on the NFL's offense poster! Its time to show what you got, put it to the players and lead them to the promised land....Lets Go Ravens!

I hope everything works out but looking at Baltimore's offensive identity in the past... Baltimore is known for Juggernaut play across the offensive line and running the football. That's what helped Kubiak last year (which separates the Ravens from the Texans in regards to philosophy on OL) and Trestman this year. I really hope there is not a lot of passing to the running back this year for two reasons. First, Justin Forsett is great but he does not break tackles the way Ray Rice did, so for all the fans expecting 4th and 29 type plays out of Forsett. Those RB passes will take away from the offensive line blocking for Forsett and the other backs for rushing yards. Which I could possibly see a lot of Ravens fans blaming either Joe Flacco or Trestman that the Ravens pass the ball too much and don't run to put an end to games. Second, if these passes are RB screens which are typically ran to the outside. The Ravens will have to run inside as well because all teams have to do is focus on outside runs due to the zone run scheme. The screen and zone run would not compliment each other very long if teams can figure that out. Joe Flacco may break 4,000 yards due to Trestman's system, but I would rather he play smart football and continue to win games than have stats. To say Trestman was let go from all these teams (specifically SF with Steve Young) in the past worries me. The teams that seemed great while he was there saw success for the first year then began to decline. The other teams seemed to see no success whatsoever which led to him getting fired so many times. I didn't read anything in the previous article about him turning a team around and the team staying that way. Just a concern, but I would love to hear from the rest of you guys.

Flacco: "Yeah, we can try it out."

Trestman hugs flacco and thanks him

@EdNallhawkReed20 I get what you saying and I agree but if Trestman can mix his play calls and some of Kubiak calls then the combination could be deadly to other teams. I think Trestman will be a good coordinator for the Ravens.
