Kenny the Snake dies at the age of 69

So many disliked that 70s Raider team ... I really liked them. They were some classic bad boys. Certainly rooted for them during that era over the Steelers.

RIP Snake.

Didn't grow up in that era ... However I've seen basically every NFL Films that those Raiders w/ Stabler are in and I love every second of it. That was great football, and he is an all-timer ... Far too young at 69.

Stabler broke a lot of hearts in Bmore Christmas Eve 1977.

I never really liked the Raiders, but The Snake was fun to watch play.

I was a Raider fan as a child and to this day he is my favorite QB or player that has ever played this game.  He was cool, calm and collected.  One of if not the most clutch QB of all time.  Kenny Stabler or "The Snake" which is really his proper name was a QB of another era, an era when QB's called their own plays.

As a child a family friend knew the hotel he was in and gave me the hotel.   I was 7or 8 years old, called the hotel, and they patched me through to his room.  That wouldn't happen today.  Not sure how long we spoke or what I said as I was very young.

Stabler was my chyildhood idol and I feel Joe Flacco could have played in the 70s.   He's also calm cool and collected and is  extremely intelligent.

Snake, you will be severely missed (and if I could draft you in the build a franchise game I wouild!)

Now lets hope the idiot sports writers that vote for the HOF finally get it RIGHT or should I say "Left"y

I'm stunned by this sad news - I may have despised those Raider teams during the seventies, yet these were some very good amalgamations of talent, during what is now looked back upon as a sort of "Silver Age" of pro football.

I will be waiting to see how the Raiders play this season in response to his passing.
