Ravens All Time Worst Players

221 posts in this topic

Kindle is unfair. He never got to play so it's impossible to say he's among the worst. Maybe he's one of our worst draft picks because we basically threw away our top pick... But worst player is a stretch.

Cody might be a better selection.

Just for clarification I think the list should be worst players who actually played a significant role bc obviously the list of worst players are going to be those who were cut or never made it off the PS.

My big 3 from recent years:

Ed Dickson

Gino Gradkowski

Terrance Cody

AGREED I did put kindle in my post for the same reason you stated in this post. I also agree with you on Dickson and Cody as well. I totally spaced Gradkowski but I have to agree with you on him too.

I agree with those who said list guys with significant snaps, should of clarified that in the initial post. I think my biggest has to be Frank Walker, I love the guy for being a try-hard, but dang that guy sucked at the NFL level, idk how he got the chances that he did.

Tandon Doss is another guy, if he worked half as hard as he did with his weird punt catching as a receiver he might of lived up to a decent potential.

Walker & Foxworth stand out to me. Doesn't mean they were the actual worst but the guys whose names I screamed the most when wanting to punch my TV.

Boller - he turned out pretty bad but at first I thought he might turn it around. Then came "That Season" and yeah, he didn't. I still blame some of that on Billick.

Foxworth would definitely be one of the most disappointing Ravens ever. We're a team that rarely spends on FA's and we gave him a 4yr/28m contract. He was extremely frustrating to watch and record 4 ints in 18 games for that contract.

Has to be between Foxworth and Kyle Boller.   Just in terms of sheer resource and dedication put on those two players, only to reward us with atrocious plays...

Franklin

Delano

Walkervelt

edit: I am also legitimately shocked that only one person has mentioned the dreaded Oneil Cousins.

Frank Walker and Corey Ivy were almost synonymous in cornerback stinkitude to me lol

Mike Anderson was a let down, especially because our running game was awful in '06 and only average in '07, he gave us almost nothing.

Michael Huff drew Harbaugh's ire for stinking in all phases of the game, especially blowing it on ST

Elam could end up here but he's got time to redeem himself.

Scott Mitchell

Oooooo, both of those are very good candidates.

Mitchell might be the tops as far as worst IMO.

Aka Turnstile. Was going to mention him but kept my list short. I know I'm missing guys from way earlier when the franchise had just started. Edited by redrum52

We have no worst players They were traded to the Eagles

Who cares about trading...Gino went to Broncos. Peyton made mediocre talent into stars. Let's see if the old man can make Gino into Jeff Saturday.

I couldn't agree more, that man literally could not even complete a 5 yard out route for us. He was absolutely horrible and that's being nice.

The worst Ravens I ever saw on the field - Frank Walker is probably number 1.  Stony Case was pretty terrible in his spot starts - I don't think he ever completed even 50 percent of his passes in a single game.  I can't really count Dan Cody and Sergio Kindle since they never even got a chance to play; same with Leon Searcy even though the hype was pretty high on him coming in.

I know that he doesn't belong anywhere NEAR this thread , but I find myself yelling at the screen at Ladarius Webb a lot. I'm glad he cut his dreads bc I was really tired of seeing them flying in the air as he was getting burnt deep. Hoping he gets back to form this year, bc he's really not that bad when he's healthy.

Since the trend in the slow off-season is usually rating the best players, such as the Top 100 and best ravens players of all time, I thought it would be neat to do the opposite, the Ravens All-Time WORST players.

The idea here is to put together a 53 man roster of clunkers, busts, has-beens and never have-beens.

I'm going to start with just a few players, and as we accrue more posts hopefully we can all collaborate to a complete 53-man Stinker roster.

Tony Banks

Frank Walker

Yamon Figurs

Kyle Boller

Sergio Kindle

Matt Elam is quickly closing in on challenging Kyle Boller for my top spot.  I thought he'd get more comfortable and better with time.  It seems like the exact opposite is happening.  And his starting point was not very good to begin with.  And I was actually optimistic about the guy coming out of Florida and being able to replace the play-making when Reed finally left.  Boy, was I wrong!(but i don't get paid to be right about football players.  the Ravens do)

In recent years Gino Gradkowski, Ed Dickson, and Michael Oher come to mind. Frank walker was a penalty machine. Boller obviously was a disaster.

Scott Mitchell was bad!!!!! Frank Walker was also bad. Kip Vickers used to drive me crazy, we really needed an upgrade at Tackle when he was here. We may need to go by position to help in this process.

Forgot his name too. I remember when people said he'd be a Reed replacement.

Frank walker was bad and I remember him taking a lot of flack but I always sort of felt for the guy. He was always spilling his guts, played with effort, was pretty physical. Unfortunately he was also beaten deep routinely, usually out of position, etc.

In his defense, he had no business starting at corner and did what he could with what he had. I take greater issue with a guy like doss who acted non chalant, played without great effort and basically took up space for a few years.

I agree. I couldn't stand Tommy Streeter when I saw him play for this reason. He was so lazy.

i agree, i did feel bad for him, he played his heart out for sure, but he cost us ALOT of games that year, and we won alot of games in spite of him that year.

i had doss on my list as well, he made me so mad because we all knew what he was capable of, but he absolutely refused to put in the work, he obviously hadnt opened up the playbook to study once the entire time he was in baltimore, i highly doubt he did film study unless he was in coaches meetings. the only reason i have walker listed as worse, is because we barely saw tandon doss, walker on the other hand we saw for 4 full quarters for over half a season.
