Great Move! Hopefully we can work on getting Yanda and Tucker done before the start of the season.

I know this won't make headlines, but Koch is one of the top weapons in the game. He consistently puts the defense in a good position, and not only are his coffin punts accurrate, I can't count the number of times in the past when the offense left him to punt inside his own 20 and he still flipped the field. Couple that with his snagging skills as place holder and its one of the reasons tucker is as good as he is. You never see a bad place no matter how terrible the snap or conditions, (not ragging on cox either). I don't know why punters don't get more respesct, I guess maybe because nobody likes seeing him on the field because it means the offense failed. No matter how good he does on 4th down, its always a disappointment. I love his shirts though, I need to get one.

It's great to have a good punter on the team with a long term deal. But, let's hope his punting attempts go way down this year while the number of holds for extra point attempts goes way up!

Well done, Sam - you deserve it. Least anyone forget - you burned what, 7-8 seconds off the clock taking that safety in the super bowl then boomed the ensuing punt too far for them to fair catch and try a FG to tie the game. That alone is worth 15 million in my book!!

Great!  Now let's get Tucker wrapped up.  I like keeping the Wolfpack together...if it ain't broke don't fix it... as they say! lol

^--- This!!! Huge play in the Super Bowl. Very smart play and easily forgotten about.

I am glad to see this deal happen as punters/kickers are often passed around the league like a yawn and Koch seems like a great guy who is not only excellent at his job but also a great team player.

I honestly think Koch's deal will play a factor in getting Tucker to sign long term as well.  Tucker knowing that 1/3 of his crew is back for possibly 5 years will probably make him want to stay as well.

yessir! I think he may be up next, this could push him to get it done. $$$ is the driving factor of all deals no doubt, but believe it or not friendships and familiarity play a role as well.

Not bad for a guy that some were calling a possible cap casualty going into this off-season.

Not really sure the comment about it helping the teams immediate salary cap situation is relevant, in that we aren't saving huge money and we don't seem to have a real need for clearing space at this juncture. It seems to be more about securing him for the future and maintaining consistency in our awesome special teams group.

This is a great to have Sam a Raven of life he's a great punter. He's very underrated and should be in the Pro-Bowl and plus he literally makes no mistakes either. It's glad to have him on board. Hopefully Ozzie will extend Marshal Yanda or K.O before the season starts because I'm really getting kind of nervous losing those guys at least one extended this year. I'm not worried about Tucker not getting extended because he could be easily sign. We could wait for next year if we want to but as of right now Yanda and K.O. are the most important to get sign before they hit the free agent market.

I would prefer to get Yanda or KO signed next as a franchise tag that we could use on Tucker next year is much less for a kicker than 2 top OG's......
