Positions that need addressing in 2016 Draft

To be fair, we should probably be looking at cut candidates more than unrestricted FAs.  We all know Ozzie loves his comp picks.  I really hope we buck the trend this year.  Extra picks are always nice, but I feel we let quite a bit of talent get away because they'd affect that calculation.  I'm thinking with the number of needs we'll have, that we'll almost have to look at some unrestricted guys.

I really think if that's the case then I like our chances of getting Vincent Jackson from Tampa. He should be a cut candidate for Tampa, they tried to trade him last season and found no one. It would be perfect, wouldn't affect our comp, plenty left in the tank and would be a great compliment for Perriman.

i have to say, i am not buying into the notion that cb is our need on defense, we could use one, but compared to FS it is a way overrated need. FS is the single biggest gaping hole on this roster and terrence brooks needs to make a godlike leap to change that.

Totally. It's honestly a huge hole, we def. need a starting caliber FS.

I guess I agree with you. Didn't give it much thought at first, but Hill is a SS, as we have seen the past couple games. Kendrick Lewis is about as average as I thought he'd be. Would like to see some more of Brooks, but he is coming off injury. FS is a big need.

Having said that, I still would like a CB if the value meets our pick. I don't think Webb will be back in 2016. Arrington is an average slot receiver. Melvin seems like depth. Walker is an unknown. Will Davis is an unknown. We pretty much have Jimmy and then a lot of guys I'd rather not see on the field. DeCosta was thinking/hoping Marcus Peters would fall to us last draft, so I'm sure CB is still on their radar.

Were gonna have a lot of needs heading into 2016 i feel like, but I think RB is an underrated need forsett is gonna be 30 and he's really nothing more than a scheme fit. I think we need a game changer at RB someone who can be a receiver too cause joes top 3 receivers tend to be WR #1 then TE then RB at least when we had rice. I like LT and Buck Allen but both seem a little limited athletically.

Personally I'd like to see us pass on RB this year and go all in on Fournette next year. 99.9% sure it's just a pipe dream of mine though

We'd need to tank because if Gurley went high, you can believe Fournette goes high.

There's no way we're tanking. I think we'd have a new coach before that happens. I more so want to see us make an aggressive move up to get him. Regardless I think next year with Chubb and Fournette it should be fun to see where they go

I don't think so, either. I'm only remarking on the likelihood (or lack thereof) of us getting him. With that said, do you really think we'd move up to get a RB? I don't think it's likely.

While that would be a dream come true, I'd say it's closer to 100% pipe dream lol. If Gurley can go top 10 I see no reason why fournette won't be selected in the first five picks, barring some insane situation and or injury.

In order....FS, WR, OLB,

It's a tiebreaker between FS and WR but I'll say FS will become filled in through Free Agency, I like Rodney McLeod, he's a coverage safety. Our FS play has been bad and it would take a huge turnaround from Terrence Brooks to change that. I'd honestly like to see us have Brooks fill in and see the field before making the full change to FS being the biggest need. We don't need a WR, we need a playmaker at the WR position. We need a guy who can just make plays for us, that's why I love Laquan Treadwell, I'm also in love with Tyler Boyd's game. Either one would be nice. OLB is obviously a huge need and it's very, very close and the one I find the most likely to be our first. Biscotti was on the clock for a pass rusher last draft and I think that'll be the case.

I feel like pass rush and (left) tackle are huge needs, after that we seriously need help in the secondary- likely a ball hawk safety who has a clue.
We're severely lacking a defensive difference maker up front, and if Joe doesn't get more time to read through his options then it (almost) doesn't matter who he's throwing to.

Things look pretty gloomy atm, I hope the FO finally feel the urgency to make drastic changes.

a SI.com too early mock had us take jalen ramsey at 3rd overall, that means we are picking again at 34th overall.

http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/10/13/2016-nfl-mock-draft-robert-nkemdiche-lions

who do we target so early in the 2nd? after taking jalen ramsey. i think a sleeper here and someone to keep a eye on is A&M LT Germain Ifedi, nasty and technically sound mauler with the length and center of gravity to be a legitimate franchise LT, may be a slight project but i think his floor is a top 10 RT and his ceiling is a solid LT, better than monroe and good enough to warrant a early 2nd.

but for the sexy picks we all love to see, emmanuel ogbah and travin dural are my favorites here, theyre still on the board in this meaningless scenario and i have a first round grade on ogbah, i think very highly of him with his high character, motor, work ethic, and him just being a force of nature it all looks like the perfect storm for him to start out slow and explode on the scene by year 2. travin dural can separate, and i think he can separate at the NFL level as well, i see a bigger and more explosive marqise lee with better hands in traffic when i look at dural, he would be a steal in the 2nd. shilique calhoun and cameron sutton would have everyones attention as well.
