[News] Joe Flacco's Goals Heading Into Year 8

41 posts in this topic

He would have exceeded 4000 yards easily if it weren't for so many drops last season it was rediculous... I think Trestman gets the receivers open more. All receivers are a year older and in the system another year. I wouldn't be surprised if they limit the drops and get 4500 yards in the air. Honestly easily a 4200 yard year for Flacco without most the drops. Forsett won't be a 1200 yard rusher this season but I think more yards come in the air and the ball in the backfield is spread around more. Forsett still averages 5-6 yards a carry and tops 1000 yards.

instead of saying things he cant control like predicting wins, or irrelavent things like Pro bowls, he focuses on what he can control to win. Great leadership #8! I love it. Not the sexy answer but the best possible one.

Stats are the biproduct of the ultimate goal- and that is winning the division then the Superbowl. Talk to me about team stats- then I'll listen.

It would be interesting to see how many GM's would take Joe Flacco over their present starting QB. Just food for thought.

I'm glad he is at the age and stage he is at in his career. What i mean is ,Brady is old,Manning is old as dirt,so Flacco will still be around making it rain and winning superbowls. I believe that he will shine even more with the new toys he has, take us to the big dance again and again and again Flacco. We could be like those other teams drafting bust QBs every year,we are lucky as hell this man is a stud who keeps his self in shape every year. We should be thankful that we have him.

When it comes to winning football games, he is the man. Plus he is a very down to earth and intelligent guy. He's also tough as nails.

I wouldn't trade him for any QB in the league, especially in December and January.

Flacco goals heading into year 8 "make up for that very very very bad pass that ended the Ravens season

"PREMATURELY"! A rollout to Gilmore or Forsett is the play that should have been called and by getting a Touchdown on the very 1st drive of the season and winning a Super Bowl this season and the next! Three peat can be done! AWK!

I think Joe will improve on last year's numbers. The closer the season gets the more excited I am to see the results of Trestman's spin on Kubiak's system. For the most part this will be Joe's second year in the system, which is grounds for excitement.

the front office weakness is wide outs and I was upset with Oz for never drafting a WR especially in our division we are the only team in the division without a true #1WR to scare the life out of the defense Joe has a young batch of guys to work with and hopefully grow together for a some years to me Flacco don't have elite stats but in crunch time Joe sure is elite

I hope you are not referring to the interception in the end zone on a very catchable ball to Torrey Smith.. The one Torrey Smith gave up on as soon as the ball left Joe's hands... The one where Smith pushed the defensive back instead of going up for the ball..

Joe always plays it one game at a time and moves on. It's one of his best traits. Who cares about chasing career statistics like Favre, Manning, and other QB's get all caught up in. Seasonal goals are much more realistic. I hope he does overachieve this year.

Theyve been happy with Perriman... I agree they never gave a great fearful weapon for opposing defenses to be afraid of. They may now have that with Perriman. I love the range of different wide outs on the roster right now... So many players that are good at different things... Just thinking of seeing 3 speedy slot guys out there or 3 6'2 or taller guys out there at the same time makes me wonder how opposing defenses will stop the Ravens next year.

When are you fans going to move on from the Torrey Smith play from last year playoff game with the Patriots. If he makes the catch we win the game go on to the Superbowl beat the Seahawks and become champions. Is that what you wanted. Well it didn't happen. Please move on. Torrey has and it looks like Joe has.

I would venture to say there are at least 25-27 other teams that would take Flacco in a heart beat!

Flacco is unique in that he simplifies everything. Nothing is too complicated in his mind which is a truly awesome gift. I think it is the rest of us that obsess with stuff and complicate things more than they need to be. We are lucky to have a guy that is so even keeled at a position of great importance for the Baltimore Ravens!

if the protection is there and the running game is clicking than flacco will have a big season. i like the depth we have at the o-line position

I totally agree.  One comment on something that’s been bugging me for years.  When a player on the field is a receiver on offense the ball doesn’t know that.  A ball in the air is for ANYONE to catch.  Receivers should not expect the ball is going to come to them, and only them, just because they are the ‘receiver’ on a particular play and that all they have to do is to wait for it to fall into their hands.  A good receiver fights for the ball every time it’s thrown in his general direction.  And if he sees he can’t get to it he makes damn sure nobody else is going to get it either.  Boldin knew that.  I sure miss him.
