Campanaro says he feels 100%.

No way Campanaro gets cut. This guy looked like he belongs right away. I see a dangerous slot receiver and a real weapon on third downs.

They will find a way even if he does get hurt again to keep him around.

cant be dangerous from the sidelines though, which is where he is spending way too much time. he has a lengthy injury history all the way back to high school, he just cant stay healthy for the life of him

It is a bit frustrating to see but i'm not counting out the possibility that he can remain healthy.

Camp has a place on this team if he's healthy no doubt. I don't think he's a lock but only because of injury. NFL network showed a replay of the Pats game that i recorded. Watching that game you could definitely tell the Ravens had a plan for Camp and he brought something that no other guy on the roster brought. Shifty, quick slot guy. As much as Brown and Aiken worked out of the slot, they are just incapable of bringing what Camp does from that position. I've mocked many people here for saying Camp is a proven slot guy. But the reality is that the Ravens drafted him for a reason and in his limited time he showed some of that reason, so i get the excitement surrounding him. However he has to stay healthy period. The Ravens have too much hungry talent right now to wait on a established guy. As much as i like Marlon Brown he's another guy on my list of potential NFL contributors/stars if only they stay healthy.

That list consist of Brown, Camp, Webb, Jimmy and Pitta. Guys like Brooks, Urban, Moore and Wagner can aviod this list if they prove that last season's injury issues was a one time thing. Now obviously Jimmy, Pitta and Webb are already major contributors but i don't think they are considered stars around the league. They would if they stayed healthy imo.

I'd love to see Camp make this team and play to his potential but he has to stay healthy. With the amount of talent at WR this year, missing a couple days of practice ontop of a preseason game could be costly.

using common sense, i think we can all agree that aiken, sss, perriman, and brown are all a lock.

its a toss up after those 4. and i really dont see us keeping more than 6 WR's, so that it brings it down to 2 more for the roster. right now its most likely going to be butler and waller. dont see anyone else.

as mentioned before, campanaro just doesnt produce enough even when he is on the field. look at his numbers if you dont believe me. that simple.

Saying he doesn't produce bc you broke his numbers down per game he played is a false argument.

How many snaps did he play in those games? And how many targets did he receive? Do you know?

I imagine he played 1/4 the amount of snaps a typical starter would (probably less) and was targeted 1/4 as much as the average starter (again probably less).

So having over 100 yds and 1TD would likely project something more like 400 yds and 4 TDs over 4 full games. That's 1600 yds and 16 TDs over a season.

Now, that's just as bogus of an argument... But the point is with the very limited time he was on the field even in the 4 games he played he was actually pretty productive. He didn't have the volume, but he was definitely efficient.

Exactly, if he gets hurt again and misses significant time in TC, he's out of here.

Doubt that... If anything it might increase his chances of sticking around bc he will land on the PUP or IR list and stick around.

They aren't going to throw away young talent when they can stash him without even having to use a roster spot.

If he starts practicing at all in training camp he won't be eligible for the PUP and if his injury isn't really serious but the Ravens place him on IR, he can request a injury settlement to get out of his contract and be available for other teams. Don't know how likely that second one is, but if Camp show up in TC and a couple preseason games then greats a slight pull or something that isn't IR worthy but ends up there anyway, he probably wouldn't be happy. But i agree 100% Ravens won't just let him go without covering every possible scenario for keeping him in the organization. I think he stays even if he's hurt and next year will be the prove you can stay healthy or your done season.

Camp's skill set is different than all the others on the roster. Like many rookies he battled a couple nagging injuries but I have a feeling he is ready to ball out and lock himself in as a long term Raven!!

I personally believe they'll get rid of him. You might be right though, they kept Kapron Lewis-Moore after 2 years of back to back injuries. So we'll see.

If Camp isn't 100 percent healthy in camp, he's gone. Kamar Aiken does everything that Camp does. Works the middle, can play the slot, etc... We have Steve Smith. We have Jeremy Butler who I believe is also a possession type receiver. If Camp's not healthy, he's gone. I hope he gets IR'd, though. We could use him next season as Steve Smith gets a little older, and if we somehow lose Marlon or Kamar or Butler.

I agree with everyone saying if he can't stay healthy he won't play, but I just can't see the Ravens letting him go. If he is healthy though, I also think we'll keep seven with Smith Sr, Aiken, Perriman, Brown, Butler, Camp, and Waller. I think Carter will clear waivers.

I think the Ravens love what Campanaro brings and hold on to him one way or another this year,no matter what his health, just as you suggest. I don't see them giving up on him.

After this past injury I think I might have unfairly given up on him - but as of late I've had a change of heart and think he will make it through training camp healthy and have a succussful year. I'm hoping he's trying some alternative rehab methods and works all the kinks out before preseason. Wishful thinking maybe? But the organization clearly has high hopes for him too. If he gets injured again , it's seyonara camp. Maybe we could get a little something for him in a trade.

I will take a major wait and see approach. It seems like every offseason on here, people are proclaiming that we are stacked at WR. Only to have, by the end of the year, everyone demanding that we need more weapons at WR.

Dark horse in this discussion is Steven Means. If Means shows enough to make the 53, I can't see how we keep 7 receivers unless we give up a corner. Given recent memory, I don't see us prioritizing a 7th receiver over a corner or a pass rusher.

Given that and disregarding IR, I think it's Brown vs. Campanaro vs. Butler for 4 and 5. Perriman(2) and Waller(6) are protected by draft status, Smith Sr(1) is self-evident, and I think Aiken(3) has proven himself to our coaching staff. I could also see us bringing in a vet to push for the  3 spot, meaning only one of Brown/Camp/Butler makes the team. I think the skillset of said veteran would help determine which of the three we keep.

So your theory is that people on fan forums speculate and then are proven or disproven by hindsight? Interesting.

lol, I know what he's sayin though, fans have high expectations before preseason even hits and end up rarely satisfied -we haven't had a lot of luck at developing guys at the recieving position and have had dozens of average joe type of guys. however I find it strange that everybody always believes this notion that history is going to repeat itself. Every year is a new year- and it only takes 1 for us to find that true #1 reciever, or a dynamic recieving unit as a whole. Edited by January J

Suprisingly got a ride from Camp's Dad this morning and mentioned he's 100% and returning punts for us.

Harbaugh: "You're my guy"

Hope this guy can stay healthy this year to get that injury stigma kicked out

Now that he says he is a 100%, he needs to play at a 100% throughout camp to carve out a place for himself on the 53 man roster.

If Camp stays healthy he's on the team. Not much he could do other than getting hurt or getting in trouble off the field to jeopardize his status.

It's not fair because it's not the players fault but nothing annoys me more in sports than players who constantly get injured. In limited action Camp has been impressive though so I think he's basically guaranteed at least one more year. I think he really could have made a difference for us last year in a few games.
