[News] The Competition 2015: Quarterback

My Greatest hope is that it doesn't matter who the backup is because he NEVER winds up on the field. My second hope is that Schaub starts learning how to throw Accurate passes to his Own players.

I don't mind if the backup gets in the game more because we are so far in the lead that Joe gets a break. Those down to the last minute or even last play games are stressful.

Hey give Ryan a break. Hes doing the competition series. It includes all positions and all players. I know theres not much news in this particular segment but it has to be done. Cant leave the QBs out. I did learn that Schaub was 6'6". Didn't realize he was so tall.

OK. So it's vacation week for the Raven's staff. Here's my unentitled and unsolicited 2 cents. Next year, when the staff knows vacations will be coming, maybe store up a few more articles, perhaps include some of a slightly different focus to fill out the week? All articles don't have to be current news. No need to bother to attempt to create a new spin on a similar existing story. Months or weeks ahead, why not save up a few special interest kind of stories and have them spread across the week while you taking well deserved vacations? Perhaps look in to the life of 1 of the players, their charities or explore their journey of ups and downs on the way to the NFL? Or write about what 1 of our former popular players is doing with their life post football. Consider it a compliment if website fans want the same amount of quality stories to continue even if the staff is on vacation. Take off, party on, chill out, enjoy the beach or whatever. Get a break from work and have a blast. But some of us fans really look forward to our daily dose of the website and enjoy the fan opinions and banter evoked from the articles. Just offering a few thoughts to get through vacation week to keep website fans just as engaged. In general, thanks to the writing staff for your efforts all year long to keep us informed and to give us something to chat about. Have fun this week.

I know I've been hard on Joe but he can get FIVE rings like Kobe! Should have three including last season but it's kool let's start it now and "THREE PEAT" like I know the Ravens can! Let me back up "Iron Man" they will never need or use me because Joe doesn't run! Lol! Got my "Kings of the AFC" shirt on today!

Anybody know what happened to LFW? Just too slow to produce a daily segment right now?

She mentioned last week that most of the staff was off this week. So the articles we are getting this week probably are all pre written.

They just posted an interesting one about an hour ago. There will be less articles this week, but not "none".

I see Flacco extending his consecutive game streak to another 16 games this year but I'll admit I'm a little shaky having Schaub as our backup but he's our best option if something does happen to Joe.

As soon as I posted that comment about having fewer than normal or sparse rehashing articles during vacation week, I saw the next article. Ironically, Ryan Mink simultaneously posted a "home run" with his outstanding article about Trestman with what I feel is the best and most interesting article of his I have ever read. Ryan came through with exactly the type of fresh article I was referring to and hoping for to cover vacation week, a different in-depth perspective of a member of the Ravens . Hats off to Ryan Mink.

Even when we had big leads late in the game, I never understood why Harbaugh keeps Flacco in.

I go to RSR during this lull. They post links to ALL online articles regarding the Ravens.

Shouldn't this article be called "The Backup Quarterback Competition"?, because Flacco does not have to compete for the starter position.

I personally do not like Schaub as a backup. I think his throws are sloppy and he is prone to too many mistakes. Unless he gets out of his slump we should give Lovelocke a chance (if he is at least as competent). Either way, Flacco should stay in until we are so far ahead in points that it doesn't matter.
