Only thing that kept me from Love is his defense. But he literally does everything else. Drummond is a good player too, can certainly build a team around him.

Turnovers are bad. They significantly hurt offense. What's not to understand about it? It doesn't matter what position he plays, his usage rate is higher than most PGs. When he turns the ball over that much it makes him not so elite.

Haha alright man. Turnovers are bad. We don't seem to be getting much farther than this despite an abundance of other stats, both raw and advanced, on both sides of the ball that put Cousins at or near the top of the league (and often decisively ahead of Blake). I respect your opinion, but I disagree.

It was between Love and Draymond for me. With Harden already on my team, having Love would've been too much of a defensive liability. Good pick nonetheless

Would have taken Bledsoe with my pick if I didn't take Curry to begin with. Problem with taking a PG in the first round is that there's so much depth at the position.

I'm a fan of the pick as well. He's been one of Ed_Reed20's favorites since the Clipper days. Agreed on the latter.

Thanks for the Love, love. I think he & Russell would play great together. He's the perfect guy to hook up to a superstar and be the clear 2nd option. D's not too good but oh well.....

Happy 4th to my fellow Mericans

Before last season, he would have been a first round pick, maybe top five. Everyone knows he is capable of 24-12 any night he wants if he is the number one forward on the team. I think he dropped way too far in this draft after having a less-than-record-setting season for once with a brand new team.

Actually I only took Wiggins over him for his ceiling. Wiggins in a year or two might be the best SG in the NBA.

Love also doesn't play defense.

Love in my eyes is the third best PF. But his lack of defense goes against what I'm trying to build

Yeah I thought Harden and Love would be a nice 1-2, but that defense would be poor. Also, now that he's the second/third man with his stats down, I didn't want to hypothetically assume he's back to 20-12 in this game compared to 16-10 in real life. Only had Green in front for his versatility, defense, and intangibles

I'm not a big NBA guy, but I'm pretty surprised to see one player still on the board.

I am 99.9% sure I know who you're talking about

I feel like it is obvious if you look through names.  The only NBA I watched this season was the finals though, so his play could have fallen off a bit.

I already demonstrated the differential in offensive ouput between them. Cousins is a better defensive player, and Blake is the better player on offense. If you like defense take Cousins, if you like offense take Blake. I like the offensive player who has far more of a track record. I don't think there is a huge difference between them.

This entire game is hypothetical. But anyway, there's nothing hypothetical about Love being 24-12. That's a known fact that he is more than capable of that if that's what he is asked to do. Green pick was solid, though. He had a great year and is looking up for the future.

I pretty much agree with this. I don't understand "far more of a track record" since they both have five seasons, but offense vs defense seems fair when comparing two players this close.

I agree with regards to Love. In a situation where he isn't the third most utilized player on the team, I'd expect his numbers to be close to what they were in Minnesota. His usage rate dropped by an entire quarter from what it was in the three years prior so the dip in numbers was understandable. I don't think it reflects a loss of ability per se.

Basically just pointing to Blake having more of an immediate impact in the league. He was an All-Star, and a deserving one, as soon as he hit the NBA. It took Cousins a couple seasons to figure it out, and credit to him for making marked imorovements.

Barry Church doesn't play basketball....

What? I've been watching your other game

I know nothing about basketball outside of the basics, so when I come in here seeing all these advanced stats and all these discussions about offensive/defensive game plans and what not I'm just like, "Yep, I've got two guys..."

Advanced stats... People love them, but they are just another stat. Learn if you are into that kind of stuff, but they don't correlate to much more than being an analyst's favorite. To put it in perspective, my 76ers were named the team most invested in analytics in all of team sports. That should show you how important they are in terms of helping create wins. What stats you pay attention to and care about is all opinion. No stats alone convey facts.

A disappearing act by Challenge Accepted. He was in The Draft thread at the time of the skip. Wonder what happened there. Either way, the front of the order has moved painfully slow.

If this game took place before the All Star Break, Lowry would probably already be off of the board. He had a rough second half, but good value here nonetheless.
