I needed a scorer to keep up with your offenses. Beal provides good defense and great shooting. He was bad from mid range this season but he's really good for what I need him to do.

Definitely helps Wiggins be more of a slasher to have two terrific three point shooters in the back court.

Also helps that Wiggins is capable of playing SG if needed

thanks man. Conley makes a hell of a lot of sense for your squad though

Thanks, I thought so too. Harden is a "ehhh..not bad..." defender, so I'm glad to get two defensive studs (who are pretty good offensively, as well) at their respected positions to go along with him.

Like the Beal pick. I envision him fitting very nicely next to CP3 and Wiggins. I like that trio

That's a bit optimistic. :P

Yeah that is true, been gone a while

I wonder what would happen if a member died unexpectedly. I guess we'd never know.

Haha, that was two seasons ago though. He tried on defense more this past year, to get him to a ehhh not bad point in my opinion. He used to be brutal though that's for sure. Also, I'm hoping to establish team defense so Draymond and Conley can help with his defensive flaws.

If anyone who'll be up soon is going to bed, I'll be welcome to take your board for the night.

Does your friend know he's on deck?

Good pick in Gobert. He was my last pick in the draft last season. Terrific complement to Blake Griffin.

I was wondering where Gobert would end up. I think it's a little early for him (due to lack of sample size), but he certainly has high potential. Elite defense and shot blocking, solid rebounding. If he can expand his offensive game he'll certainly be a real threat. Mostly scores on putbacks/easy layups and dunks, as he his field goal attempts per game are usually low.

Yeah, I think his defending is more of a "scheme it so it's not a complete liability", which you can get away with if you've got the right players and scheme.

Tbh it's mostly just that it's fun to laugh at him. ;)

Thanks, he a defensive monster with a developing offensive game as well. Agreed on the last part, it's a big reason why I pounced on him here.

Even getting 10ppg on putbacks, easy layups and uncontested jumpers has its place if you have enough scorers imo. Otherwise I agree, he was another guy I was looking at. Thankfully my main target's still around, but I'm starting to sweat a bit.

Agreed on all accounts. It's practically like having DeAndre Jordan next to him.

Once he started getting minutes, he was 11 and 13 with 2.6 blocks per game. He was arguably the best defensive big in the NBA.

Gobert is a steal. He was arguably the best rim protector in the game last year and he's just 23. He was my big man target if I didn't land Drummond.

Yeah, I know. I targeted him in fantasy (daily and season long) and he did very well. And once he got minutes and traded Kanter, the Jazz went from being bad on defense to arguably the best defensive team in the NBA.

Thanks. Wiggins has a legit chance to he a top 10 player in the NBA. And there's a legit chance Beal becomes a great scorer one day. I like the duo

It is a small sample size, but I see no reason for him to regress.

I always wonder what happens to those who visit The Draft thread while on the clock and then suddenly disappear. A shame too. We have enough online members to make a relatively good run.

I agree. I didn't intend for my criticism of small sample size to overlook his talent and game. Gobert is a good pick. Only reason why I said I thought he went a little early is because I didn't know how everyone else in here viewed him and where they would've drafted him because of his small sample size. By the praise of the pick, I believe he wouldn't have been available much longer, so it is a solid pick to get the man you wanted.

My guess is that they're around but their session timed out.

Certainly a possibility. Never know though. It happened last night and there was no immediate return.
