Top 20 Ravens

55 posts in this topic

It is very hard to rank them because each player brings a little something different to the table I agree with most of the rankings you guys posted and can see why some guys are higher and lower in the rankings. I noticed Flacco is always ranked near the top of most of your rankings and I agree with that he is definitly top 3 in the regular season but he should be ranked #1 in the months of January and February bar-none he is the most valuable player we have in the playoffs.

this is why i have flacco number 1. this list should include whole season including potential playoff run.

yup. Aiken is more talented than Tucker. dudes got a good physical frame and speed to be a legit number 2 if not number 1 WR this season. Plus, it takes more talent to run routes and catch a football from Flacco in coverage, than kick a football into uprights without being touched. thats what this list is about right? talent?

Yes, it's about talent. And Tucker is a much more talented kicker than Aiken has shown in real NFL games as a receiver.

it takes a lot more talent to be a WR in the NFL than a kicker. now that I think of it, not sure why I even put tucker on that list. replace his name with maxx williams.

Okay

Lmao. Now I'm seeing why people leave this forum during the off season.

According to what he says then, any qb starting in the NFL when Jerry Rice played, was a more valuable player than Rice, due to the position they played. QB is tougher than WR and skill then no longer matters.

Tucker a more talented kicker than Aiken is a wr.

I would place Tucker at #1 simply because he has field and recording studio talent. Overall Personality should be a parameter within this list.

yeah really. I mean I hope elam turns out to be worth the draft pick, but he's looking like a miss. I find it funny how guys always get hyped up and then poof nothing comes of them. for example Doss, Demetrius Williams was constantly teased as looking really good during training camp, Tavares gooden, terrance cody, the list goes on. point is I don't get my hopes up until preseason which is why I left unprovens such as rookies off my list.

when did terrence cody ever look good or receive reports of the same magnitude as doss, demetrius williams, or elam?

Hmmm, lets see. Would you rather go back to Cundiff or keep a journey man receive like Aiken? And I like Aiken, just using him for this point since you think so highly of him.

lol tucker is replaceable.

how many kickers in this league can be considered as much of a weapon as tucker?

ravens down by 1 or 2, get the ball on the 20, with 2 minutes to go..

flacco and tucker combined are a terrifying combination for defenses to face in crunch time, it alters gameplans, it forces aggression and places tons of pressure on the defense and coaches. defenses cant play deep and allow dink and dunks, because we would be in chipshot range for tucker in no time, which leaves one real option, man coverage, any minor slip up can lead to a chunk play, putting us in a position to run out the clock and set up the ideal field goal position.

tucker is the only kicker of his age and caliber that is big-game certified. blair walsh and greg zeurlein are young and productive but have never seen a "big" game moment, then the rest of the top flight kickers with big game experience like crosby and gostkowski are much, much older, yeah kickers have a long lifespan but tucker probably has another 15 years left compared to those guys having probably 5 or so.

tucker is replaceable in the sense that you can find another kicker, but if thats the case then all players are replaceable, no kicker combines the long term upside, clutch factor, and fear factor, like tucker does, in that sense, he is not replaceable, no kicker currently in the nfl brings to the table what tucker does

go look at the top 100 players of the nfl of 2015, which is based solely on talent, and tell me how many kickers you see on the list. then tell me how many WR you see on that list. boom.

How many #3 WRs(Could also argue that Aiken wasn't even that) were on that list?

So which one is easide to replace. A kicker as reliable as Tucker or a number 3 wr(at best as of now)? If a kicker like Tucker is so easy to find, why are kickers constantly being shuffled? Isn't he also one of the most accurate kickers already in his short career? I can make an argument for Justin being the best at his position, how about Aiken. No knock on Aiken, but I think Tucker is more valuable to the team, at this point than Tucker. No one knows what Kamar's future holds though.

Lmao this is your guage? I'd bet people mentioned Tucker WAY before you even heard Aiken name mentioned as a top player. Most of the league would probably ask who the hell Kamar Aiken is.

I never said it was to the same magnitude just saying they hyped him up. when he came into camp weighing like 330 and they got all excited about his hard work and improved figure and he was the same player maybe even worse.

I'd rather lose Aiken, Brown and Camp than Tuck. Unthinkable that he would not be a Raven for life.

Even though it seems kickers aren't valued that high(salary), when you have an excellent and dependable one you lock him up forever.

You think Harbaugh would consider Aiken more important to the team that Tucker is? Not likely...
