think Jimmy Smith should be higher on your list.  He's one of the best CB in the league or was one of the top CB's before he went down with an injury.

Jimmy's number 2. He's a better CB than Flacco is a QB.

We had this problem trying to make a top list last time. Best player at their position or a combo of importance and position they play. I'm pretty sure I said something along the lines of what you said as well.

If the list is called top players it should be by best by position. Most valuable is a whole other list IMO.

The only reason he's not higher is b.c of the injuries and not feeling completely comfortable with him. if he can avoid the injury bug I think he will be able to prove himself one of the top 3 guys on the team.

Hopefully he just doesn't get hurt again., but also I know first hand how coming back from multiple injuries can affect you mentally on how you may do things in fear of getting hurt again. you aren't consciously thinking about it, but you definitely react differently after injuries. I'm not saying that Jimmy will be affected by it, but its just something that concerns me.

Well, this was an injury that wasn't contact forced, it appeared. I think that'll change the mentality, to be honest.

Wouldn't best by position just be the depth chart....?

Meh, Flacco stays on the field. Doesn't matter how talented you are if you can't stay healthy. Agree with you that Jimmy is better if health isn't a factor, but given Joe's durability (not for lack of hits taken) I think he's easily the second best on the team behind Yanda. I would only give Yanda the edge because of his ability to play RT. It's crazy that he can play above average at RT while also being the best Guard in the league.

That said, Jimmy is definitely a top 5 player on this team.

It will be interesting to revisit this question after the season as well. So many new players with limited or no NFL experience. It's fun to speculate now but I would imagine we will be in for a few surprises by those who exceed and those who fall short of expectations, not to mention injuries. I am just very pleased with how things are shaping up for this year and hope a lot of our young players really make an impact to end up on everyone's top 20 list. If some of these young players can step right in and be successful in the NFL to supplement our vets, the Ravens could be very tough to beat this year.

No, best by position when compared to the entire league.

Tickers a better kicker than Flacco is a qb. Does he rank higher than him?

Tucker is difficult to rank. I think we all agree he's the best kicker in the game. All depends on how much you value kickers

makes sense. cj was a rookie and everyone was expecting elam to have a huge year

yeah for some reason I was under the impression that the list was done following the 2014 season, should have been obvious I just wasn't thoroughly paying attention . makes you think that all the optimism for Elam this year is b.s

yeah really. I mean I hope elam turns out to be worth the draft pick, but he's looking like a miss. I find it funny how guys always get hyped up and then poof nothing comes of them. for example Doss, Demetrius Williams was constantly teased as looking really good during training camp, Tavares gooden, terrance cody, the list goes on. point is I don't get my hopes up until preseason which is why I left unprovens such as rookies off my list.

yup. Aiken is more talented than Tucker. dudes got a good physical frame and speed to be a legit number 2 if not number 1 WR this season. Plus, it takes more talent to run routes and catch a football from Flacco in coverage, than kick a football into uprights without being touched. thats what this list is about right? talent?

exactly. thats why i need to remind people not to get over excited about players this time of year. you have absolutely no idea how they'll turn out until week 15, 16 and 17.
