Doesn't matter, just go into each game with the mindset to destroy the opponent. Do not let up, show no mercy for the full 60 minutes. Let's put some fear back into the league.

John, history ought to have informed you that regardless of the off season kudos and praise by these pundits, one can rest assured that for our first reg. season game at Denver these very pundits will have Denver beating Baltimore by over a TD! That is the reality of the Baltimore 'respect' situation!

They will remain underdogs to every team that has a bigger TV market period. It's been that way for ever and I don't see it changing much because Peter King followed by a low level ex-NFL player (Brushci) thinks we are great! These very people will jump off the bandwagon in a hurry once the regular season starts. Just mark my words and be ready to eat yours.

Eisenberg, We are still underdogs and will always BE UNDERDOGS!!! We will always have that chip, as a mid market city getting NO RESPECT!!!

To the point, just checked into NFL Live for a quick second first time in a month or so, they are discussing AFC North and who is going to win. They ramble on ten minutes about how its Squeelers division to lose, and Bengals are the main threat. Then finally Steven A. Says we have went this long without mentioning the Baltimore Ravens I cant believe that. Then they say he were good but....we lost Kubiak and were bringing in pieces to shake up the Oline etc..

So dont tell me were not still Underdogs and, still sneaking up on people. When National media treats us like NY or Boston then our role changes. But that'll never happen...no matter how many rings we win

I literally just logged on to post this same thing. Barely mentioned them at all, and the one dude said that their biggest question mark is the OFFENSIVE line!!??? I turned the channel as soon as I heard them say that mess. Made me sick.

Replacing Ngata with a combo of our young DT's is easier said than done. They better play with anger and determination to replace that guy. I have high hopes for our DT's but I know that we will probably be in for some upsets.

I think it's going to be easier than some ppl think.  Don't get me wrong, I am definitely going to miss Ngata but the young guys held their own the last 4 games he was suspended and with them having another training camp and pre-season to prepare I think they are going to be just fine.  That said, I will say someone like Ngata is not someone you just "replace" though.

The spread is usually 3 pts for the home team when the teams are similar.  Add in the "Manning" factor and how we lost the last time there, I can see a 7 point spread.  It's Vegas and the odds makers, they could care less about respect it's all about the $$$ Don't take it personal.

Agreed. Replacing him by committee should be interesting to see.  A recent article said that we may keep 9 or 10 for the DLine. Considering the talent and depth we have, I'm excited to see how they perform.

I am glad that some staff are around to write articles this week because in last week's LFW Garrett said LWF and office staff would be on vacation this week. Checking in with the Raven's website is a part of my routine so I took it to mean no articles this week. I am relieved that not everybody bolted the same week or wrote some articles in advance. I enjoy the comments from the fans just as much as the articles so I appreciate the writers seeing and filling the need to keep some articles flowing. P.S.. The segments on rookie camp are good and this was perfect time to introduce them. P.S.S. I have been on some other team websites which are really very basic and limited when compared to our excellent and varied Ravens website. At least the Ravens make a decent effort at bringing a lot of content and provide a good format for discussion.

That team 30 miles south of us has one of the biggest TV markets in the country and doesn't do them much good.

Who cares what others think, we will still march into their town and whip their butt.

the truth of the matter is the media doesn't think much of us or cover us but if you ask the teams who they hate to play, our name is always at the top. I put a lot more credence in what the teams say than the so called "experts".

Yeah, the media might malign the Ravens, and the Ravens might use that as motivation, but the Ravens haven't been able to sneak up on anyone for years. This team has a well-earned reputation for being tough, and other teams sure get up to play the Ravens. Nothing new.

If the way Habrs prepares this team is at all similar to how other teams prepare, then no one should be sneaking up on anyone in the NFL. Each team is loaded with world class athletes and the league is chock-full of competition enhancing mechanisms to ensure the old adage of "any given sunday...."

I would just like to see our D getting back to terrorizing everyone!

Lots of forced turnovers, safeties and interceptions... Oh ya, some trick plays would be good too. Maybe Trestman can work some controled laterals into the offense. For a team that is lead by an ex special teams coach, we have gotten a bit too predictable,IMHO. One trick play attempt last season, that died before the play got started. Ravens need to get back to pulling all the stops, at every level !

Nobody is talking about Vegas odds here. What Vegas does, Vegas does and nobody but gamblers care. I am talking about hese very pundits picking winners and losers on a weekly basis. All I meant was that these guys will have Denver beating us convincingly regardless of how they crowed (no pun intended) our praise now. All this praise is just hog wash because when it comes down to it, they like to beef up their ratings by appealing to the bigger markets.

One of the reasons why I love this team! We aren't flashy we aren't star studded, we are a hard nosed grind it out team who ALWAYS shows up when it matters the most.

There are a few plain facts that are not being stated clearly or being overlooked:

1.Brandon Williams is replacing Haloti Ngata. Williams is the same block-eating run stuffer that Ngata was. The Ravens saw that when Ngata was out which is why they could afford to let him go.

2.Pittsburgh is in decline. The playoff loss was an important indicator of their problems. Losing LeBeau, Polamalu, Worilds, Keisel and Taylor overnight may give them the worst defense in the NFL. They mistakenly believe they have an adequate or good offensive line. This should have been obvious in the playoff loss but they failed to address the problem. They haven't won a playoff game in 4 years and are 3-6 vs. the Ravens in that time.

3.Joe Flacco may be the best QB in the game. He's never missed a start. He won more playoff games than any QB in the league (double that of Ben who has won 5) since 2008. He has the most overall wins of any QB in the league since he came into the league in 2008. Winning is the ONLY stat that matters. The other stats are for sportswriters and the fans of losing teams.

4.Baltimore has the most talented and deepest defensive front seven in the NFL. Coupled with a top 3 offensive line they will win the battles in the trenches on both sides of the ball against almost every team they play.

It is no surprise that people are finally starting to acknowledge Baltimore's football prowess. Ozzie has and continues to be a better judge of talent than every other GM in the business. Despite drafting late every year we get more "bang for the buck" than any one. How 16 other teams passed on C.J. Moseley is a perfect example. Brandon Williams is another. And Jernigan, and Tucker....the list goes on and on.

This year a lot is expected from the Ravens. Only one team finishes the season with a win. Hopefully that will be us but at least we know one thing.....we certainly have a good chance.

The only ones who overlooked the Ravens in the past were the so-called experts who had to eat their words most of the time and make excuses for why the other team lost and why the Ravens won. I.M.H.O. the Ravens were never really overlooked by other teams the other teams knew they were going to be in a physical fight for the whole game all 4 quarters. It's the Jamie Dukes and Heath Evens type of so-called experts that always made excuses and put the Ravens down. So be it. I dont care any more if they dont like Joe Flacco or if they think SSS is too old to make a difference Or if Suggs and Doom cant get it done any more because of age and us loosing Ngata. I like our guys all of them and I get more enjoyment watching our guys compete against the so-called best teams in the NFL. I say wait till January and see how everything shakes out then hear all the excuses they make for the teams the Ravens beat.

@huntgathrr another thing I might add is that the Steelers draft poorly as well especially their defense that's what got them in that mess because once those guys gone there not really any quality players they have that could contribute fairly I mean they got Timmons but nothing really else that pops up. They do draft good offensive players though during the years I credit them for that but the Ravens always got a quality player to step up do to drafting great players. Ozzie knows how to draft offense and defense the Steelers only draft a good offense.

The best chapter in that book is Oz' deal to acquire Maxx ahead of Pittsburgh.

Our Division has produced three playoff teams.   The Division may also be an integral part of why we expect to succeed.  I would believe our management thinks Division first, conference and beyond rather than a team hoping for a berth.

Yes! Give me the guys who bring their lunch pails to work and give it their all every play. I do not want the "I'll play when I want to" or the "look what I just did" guys. With the Ravens, guys understand you win as a team! All 12 men on offense, defense, and special teams have to do their jobs. Ozzie drafts tough football players and Coach Harbaugh holds them accountable for playing to their potential.
